as a healer main with multiple 3k classes i can guarantee if they dont fix heal/tank toughness and its all about having too muich responsibiities still you wont see more players in these roles, this new alt friendly system is good enough, from many aspect, but its not related to whatever u mentioned.
Super excited about finally being able to play the way that I want without losing out on things like renown, story progress. I have started making different characters of the same class because it's boring being the same race all the time, but also helps not having bags full of gear because spec x requires this stat and spec y requires that stat, etc
I played DPS for ever. And recently discovered that Tanking is the GOAT All Tanks to 70 leveled up and now getting a feeling for each Tank. But playing different Classes is key to staying motivated and building knowlege about all other Classes.
As long as you're not raiding with a set group, switch as much as you want. It's only frowned upon when you are relying on your team to gear up all your characters as the cost of your groups progression.
Thanks for your video mate, helped me a lot. I'm also always switching chars, like 4 or 5 per patch. I feel like Warbands will really change the community. So many players like us were stuck doing content in multiple chars and now it will be progression to all. In season 3 DF I was doing +20 keys in 5 chars, instead of maxing one and do 25ish. Now I'll be able to use currency from multiple in the main!
I found your channel because of the SV content you've been dishing out and I am one of those people that LOVED SV since the rework, I played the spec since legion but have always been forced to switch to a tank/healer in order to do content with my core group of friends. It seems that I only get to enjoy the spec when my friends eventually quit the expansion lol. And I am 100% the type of player you're describing in this video. At the start of Legion, i was gun-ho about "maining" my outlaw rogue and then I got ganked by a survival hunter in the wild and immediately rerolled. It's a running gag in my friend group that ill reroll once someone bests me in WPVP.
"It's a running gag in my friend group that ill reroll once someone bests me in WPVP." My friend is like that too 😂 When he does a BG, and get's farmed by a specific player, who in reality isn't playing a "better class", but is just better geared, he re-rolls to "be that good". I'm very excited about SV Hunter too after the re-rework. 🙂 Survivability was always something that you had to practice on another level, and know EXACTLY what you were doing, just to "decently" be able to survive. 😅 Now they have fixed it, and hopefully it stays like this until TWW launches.
I feel ya bro. Same here. Im a PvE / PVP(Arena,BG and World) / Collector / Transmog kinda guy. Been on playing since classic (Mainly since TBC) I always switch between classes because of I get bored very fast. On the positive side, its a good thing when it comes to pvp. I know each of the setups, spells, abilities for each class and know how to counter them. I havent played the beta, but im also gonna stick with my SV hunter because it has been my "main" since WOTLK. Love every aspect, fantasy and theme of survival, since I only play solo these days.
I feel the same way. I love that I know how other classes work, through having played them all in PvP myself. 🙂 SV is just SUCH an underrated spec, and I love the fantasy of it more than any other fantasies in the game. Which is why I hated that I had to leave it behind in Dragonflight, because I didn't wanna deal with the low self-healing and LOOONG defensive CDs anymore. I can't wait for pre-patch to arrive, so I can finally play it properly, on Retail.
It’s a huge benefit in pvp to try other classes and specs 💯. I kinda main 3 toons and gear them via epic bgs; working on my four other fave toons now. Wish conquest gear was a bit easier for those that just play unrated pvp content. ❤
I randomly stumbled across this channel when looking up wow stuff and I thought I recognised that voice and face! Watched quite a few of your programming videos last year, always excellent. Was a nice surprise, been loving your gaming channel the last few weeks
WOW a kindred spirit! I've been a Mage main since Legion. I have switched to seemingly every other class since, always returning to Mage eventually. I mainly PVP. My plan for TWW is to have a main alt. That's something I haven't been able to do. Hopefully that will prevent me from leaving the Mage again lol. By the way I found your channel awhile back during my many forays with Survival. I love the class fantasy as well! Great video!!!
It still hurts me leaving my current main which is druid but it doesn't look overwhelming at it's current point in the beta but things might change, I started playing druid since legion, I have been doing all mage tower challanges in all specs at least for druid, I still regret it not doing that on all classes in legion, but from my point of view we are getting in the right direction that more things are getting account wide after all those years, I also dislike playing flavour of the month classes or meta speccs myself, still not sure if sticking with my druid or what else to main, but I guess most people are struggling with that at the end or start of a new expansion I have some in mind but still a hard to make a decision after all. I am most likely ending up with any hybrid classes since I want to have at least the possibility to dabble into another role without switching my current main, I tried playing pure dps speccs several times for longer periods but that doesn't last very long and I am getting bored of that. After almost 20 years of playing the game, I also had several alts and also deleted some of them wanted to focus on other realms or maybe the other faction. We will see where I am ending at. At least at its current state it is feeling less painfull switching to another main. Thanks for your video and keep it up ;-)
Great video! I have a different kind of problem, I can play only one character. Love doing everything on my Mage, it has been my main since I started to play Retail. I do not care about the tier list as long as I enjoy in class fantasy and playstyle.
Aw man, I’ve been having a hard time trying to decide what to main for tww, and watching this video made me want to go back to hunter 😆 I mained hunter pretty much from classic to legion when I fell off of WoW until DF. I finally tried out more classes this expansion and really fell in love with Druid, but man Hunter still just holds that special place you know? I just miss being able to have melee and ranged weapons equipped, and I’ve been rather put off by how rigid they made the 3 specs. You can’t really dual wield 1 handers anymore because SV is all tied to two handed weapons! Ah screw it. I’ll play them all haha 😅
I never had a main I always change, I did favored the hunter more. I got all classes on both horde and alliance max lvl not geared, but I do level them. I was happy about the warbands
I usually try a class i havent tried before, and will main that if possible at the start of a new expansion, and then later in the expansion i will usually always fall back to my warrior tank.
You may not need a main but most people still have a main or 2 I tend to swap around and never really have a main unless it's for like a raid or something then my main is usually a Pali tank lol.
Played my warrior since day 1,and will stick with him. But I can now plant toons all over Azeroth to do stuff and the more they make things like rep backward compatible it will become even easier.
Think it is as simple as you are a casual player, don't take it to seriously and have fun, which is the best way to enjoy games in my opinion. Casual not the the amount of time spent but how you play, its the same for me
You mentioned you were not sure what content to put on this site. I do have a suggestion for whatever content you settle on. The title is "Why You No Longer Need A Main in The War Within! " but it is nearly 9 1/2 minutes into the video before you start mentioning the why. Less bark, more bite 🙂
It's the Blood Troll tmog we got as one of the monthly trading post rewards. So unfortunately it's unobtainable at the moment, until the reward becomes available some other way.
i get bored quick, i have set on a server a human with all the classes, so when i am bored i play on that server, i even have on my second account made a Mage account where i created all chars that can be mage :D and on my 3rd account an account with all chars that can be Warlock :D
What's that pet ? Doggy with earfins ? Is it from bfa ? I feel like i know it. And yeah I am a bit like that for sure. I love mastering chars and play with builds.
Honest comment: first time watching your video or your channel. Amazing content and stuff, enjoyed the video but man, you gotta go more straight to the topic, a TLDR, 10 minutes in and youre still introducing the topic, I had to watch in 2x speed and still it was very repetitive; just a hint, as a viewer. But ty and keep up the good work.
Can anyone tell me if the New expansion 'the war within' beginner friendly for new players? i cant get into Retail wow because it felt so overwhelming with so much system and stuff , is this expansion any diff or just same as every expansion which is not new player friendly?
It depends a lot on what you mean by “beginner friendly”. Do you mean gearing? End game content? The story? The War Within will be just as easy to get into, as Dragonflight is. So if you think Dragonflight was overwhelming, then you might not like The War Within. I do want to add though, that we are getting a new end-game content called Delves, which is a way for you to earn gear, by playing solo. 🙂 So in that regard, it is more “beginner friendly”, if the social aspect is something you consider a hurdle.
Four survival Hunters??? All with the same pet. All youre really changing is the butt youre looking at while playing. Ive mained Hunter for the 20 years the game has been out. I have alts though. Ive had “main alts” “2nd alts” and so forth. With Warbands, I deleted 9 alts leaving my main, MM Hunter. Co-mains Ret Pally and Shadow Priest. And I play them almost equally. I do have an alt hunter geared for BM. 2 knock around alts I rarely use in a Lock and DH, a bank alt and a lock box rogue. I couldn’t imagine all those alts you showed.
it still confuses me a bit, what about rep on toons ive grinded out then switched to horde, will the alliance rep i had before transferring count for my allies after warbands are out?
It's a mix between the Blood Troll tmog, and the Night Elf tattoo options in the barber shop. :) The Blood Troll tmog is a reward we got, from the trading post a while back, so it's unobtainable, until it pops up again (if it does).
Warbands are so you can park your favorite characters until they are viable again and you can keep playing meta specs, so balancing isn't such a hot button issue. My Shaman will be parked.
The pve doesn't matter low m+ keys and lfr isn't fun pve and you will replace that gear in 3-4 months then do your low m+ and lfr again😂 That's why I just pvp on retail the pve doesn't matter😂
@KroesGaming its understandable it was poorly typed. I was just saying you talked a lot about people with alts and not enough about the war band system and how it works. But what do I know.
It is the Dark Ranger barber options, which became available in Shadowlands. :) I believe it is unlocked, by talking to Genn Greymane (as alliance), in The Enclave in Oribus.
I do play a bit of FF14 🙂 My wife even has a YT channel on that game. We all thought WoW would never become alt friendly, but now it is actually becoming 99% alt friendly.
I have 2nd YT channel full time, and a full time job on the side, and I have time. 🙂 But probably because I have no kids, and my wife also enjoys gaming, that might be why hehe. My neighbor who has 3 children and a non-gamer wife, would never have time for just 1 character.
