Why You Probably Shouldn't Buy a PS5 Yet! 108255-1 isn't your only issue! 

Don't you think it's kind of weird that Sony still says that a patch is coming? How would a patch fix just the PS5s with issues? What will this patch do to the PS5s that have no issues? Just something to think about.

You brought up a good point. I was getting the 108255-1 code from day one, and then it miraculously started working fine on Christmas. Now I'm wondering if it will go back to being iffy should they push out another update to "fix" other consoles? Oddly enough, I was never contacted by Sony to follow up on the case number they gave me.

I finally got my brand new PS5 from amazon one week ago. I already got CE-108255-1 two times in PS4 games ... also in the Queue now for the patch.

ps5 astro's playroom game can not read saved data ( the levels ) if i played to level 10 and turn off the ps5 and turn back on the ps5 and play the game it takes me back to level 1 ( back to start ) please help me .

Hey man my console is new and updated... Had a copying error when trying to play ps4 fifa 21 but i hired the game so i figured it was just the disc and borrowed a friend's ps4 game(death stranding) and it copied.. Now i downloaded injustice 2(which i paid for!) and I'm getting that error message and cant play it.. What do you think? I'm from south Africa so sending it to Sony and stuff is gonna be real hard and I'm broke now so if they want me to pay for shipping then I don't know... This video is probably more than 6 months old and I'm still having a problem... Almost a year in... Just now I tried restarting my ps5 and it just stayed off... Had to press the power button twice to get it to turn on... Im really really worried I spent so much money on this.... I didnt know there were problems for this thing... Even after the patch there's still problems

I'm just speculating, but couldn't this issue be related to ones PS account? If you got corrupted data and transfer it to your PS5 unit it might cause problems. I've never rebuilt my database but that might be a solution if these error codes wont go away.

I know it's been a while since this video was posted, but I occasionally get this error message, and the game closes. Usually once or twice a week after lengthy play sessions and it seems to happen when I'm playing AC Odyssey. Has there been any update if this is software and if there is going to be a patch soon?

I'll have to watch this when I get home finally some real news about these consoles

Purchased mine in November 2021, but I didn't even open it (and therefore was unaware of these ongoing issues) until Horizon Forbidden West came out just over two weeks ago. Played through Astro and Guardians of the Galaxy first. No issues at all. I'm about 15 hours into Forbidden West, and now constantly I'm getting the same CE-108255-1 issue, and can no longer progress. Again, this is March 2022. :/

I bought my ps5 disc version 3months before and just after 15 days i started getting the error for all the games . I opened the side plates to check is there was a problem with the fan but the fan was spinning. Don't know how fast it has to spin. But just a few days before my 3 year old son just turned the console on without me knowing. So i guess the console was on for almost 6 hours. I did not notice it since the tv was off. But when I switched the tv on the ps5 was on just the home screen. So i just started fifa 23 game and it worked. So i played for a few more minutes and it did not show any error code. So i checked all the the other games. And luckily all the games are working. So after this I have played for 3 days now. And till now I did not get the error.

Who are you guys contacting, number wise at sony? everytime i call the number listed on the sony website I can never get through. Today "estimated wait time 30 minutes" a hour and half later and i'm still waiting for someone to answer the phone? Is this normal for sony?

I bought my PS5 at the end of March 4 months after this error was reported. And now on May while playing MLB the show the game crashes and I get the error code your talking about. That's 6 months after this issue was first reported. They don't care and will do nothing about it

I had 1time crash on cod black ops and after that i did safe mode rebuild data.few days after i had 2 crash in like 3hours on fifa 21.after that i watched your video with sony technical support and i did everything he said. I changed graphic setting and put my games on performance mode. Im not sure that completely solved my issue or not but i havent crash again yet since i did that changes.its been 7days and it looks fixed.(i hope never happen again cause im from iran and impossible to replace from here) Sorry for my english 🙏

Im starting to wonder if the issue has something to do with the liquid metal. They do apply way more than i do on my desktop cpus. They have so much on there that its dripping and im wondering when its heating up maybe the liquid metal becomes a little more runny and is getting through that black barrier they put in place and its doing small shorts or something or more possibly maybe the cpu block mount isnt propper and is not connecting so the console its getting to hot and erroring out to stop heat from building further. I bought a few ps5's for some of my buddies from my childhood that dont have money to spend like this right now and i really want to give it to them all without opening the box but i need to test them all thoroughly first so they dont have to have what i call the sony headache lol. I plan to hand them all their playstation 5's at the same time :]

Got my first error message today while playing ac odyssey. The ps5 is just a couple days bought and we’re in 2022. However I was able to play my game again after the error message

It does it less for me now, but I've come to expect it, started maneater and within 20 minutes it crashed so I gave up, a couple of digital ps4 games have crashed too. There has been a couple of times where i've had to turn it off and on again as the picture on the tv is skewed and all greys and green colouring for some reason after turning it on, thel Hdmi cable is connected properly and it's the one that came with it.

Well for me I am still having problems, I am trying different HDMI slots for my ps5 on my 4K tv, and nothing. I've tried everything, it is now Feb 7 and the update came out and nothing. Have you had any issues since the livestream? I’ve had one or two crashes here and there since the beginning of the year. Don’t know whether you’ve seen this but for some reason the code CE-108262-9 is in my history twice since launch and it never happened. It’s just in the error log but I’m almost 100% sure it didn’t even happen.

I eventually got a box to send my ps5 back for repair or replace I’m planning to sell it after I get it back for 600 to cover for shipping and get my money back. It’s a gpu issue. The gpu overclocks so the ce 108255-5 always shows up to broken ps5s. My ps5s gpu completely broke and started to show dead pixels and artifacting.

Im still having this issue in my ps5, contacted the support, but is the same shit. Hope that the patch solve everyone's problem soon. I'm from brazil and here is impossible to replace, so i'm just gonna wait.

Just an update on my 2nd PS5 console. Just a 108255-1 crash on Miles Morales’ last mission, and then I bought a 1TB SSD for my console. I also happen to get a PS5 for my brother from Best Buy in January and he have just one crash playing a PS4 game, Tony Hawk. Other than that no further issues from either console.

Do I need to worry if I’m getting this error code on just one game? It started happening with destiny 2 it worked fine when I first got the console but now I’m getting this error code when I try to load into the game all my other games seem to work fine tho

I called them and got the same scripted response about a patch coming. I was tempted to just lie and say the system doesn't power on but I saw in the comments from another one of your videos that a Sony rep had the person take a video of it not powering on. They doing the most to not help us. This is just ridiculous.

Ordered and picked mine on the 25th, yesterday, from target. Had internet issues last night. But played astro's playroom for a while. Shut down, not rest mode, turned on this morning won't load astro's playroom...... So sad

I did get one and the software is ok but the is a problem Being louder than my friends so I don't no if it's a console or the fan

Amen. When I had to send back my console (Guess I was one of the lucky ones) the policy for sending stuff back seemed so bad in my opinion. They tell you to send it back without anything. Not even the Original Packaging (which would make sense in terms of protecting the playstation during shipping). And they say, if it get's damaged during shipping, we won't be able to help you. Like what kind of crap is this. They don't provide anything for you to ship it to them, they tell you not to ship in the original packaing. And they even say, if you send anything else except the console, you won't get it back. For real, if I would have known that Sony is absolute trash in terms of customer service, I would've thought about buying the Playstation 5 twice..

I had both CE-108255-1 & CE-108262-9 on my first PS5 Sony would not replace it even though it kept losing sound freezing crashing refuse to turn on they told me they needed more evidence to prove my console was faulty lucky for me gamestop came to the rescue i now have my second one since mid December the only error code i've had on it was CE-108262-9 one time but it does have trouble with randomly losing signal to the tv sometimes and slowdown in a few PS4 games & pop in in a lot of PS4 games but PS5 games work for the most part just a glitch now & then so far

Is anybody else noticing that the error codes aren't showing up in your error history? In the last 24 hours, I've had applications crash 30+ times and none of it is being recorded. Seems like an intentional cover-up of just how bad the issue is, if you ask me.....

I’ve contacted Sony and been told il be emailed within 5 days (contacted them on Saturday) Got my console on Friday night after not being able to get one from launch date. Played perfectly for a couple of hours until I put it into rest mode. Went back to it later that night and got the dreaded 108255-1. I can play Spider-Man for about a couple of minutes then it comes up. Sick of it!

Mine works just when i play cyberpunk 2077 yea i know glitchy it crashes randomly doesnt crash with any other games only play cyberpunk because the story is good still glitchy tho but less glitchy in ps5 still waiting ok the ps5 upgrafe that wont ever happen probably lol

Too all, No patch will fix this. It is most definitely a hardware issue. It will progressively get worse. Started with one game and after time, the ps5 became unplayable. I had to send mine in for repair. Just got it back the other day and all seems fine now. Not holding my breath though.

My Nov12 system was perfect until I Paid for COD Clodwar..it crashed every game after I downloaded it and played they swap mine no problem

I stayed up for 24 hours to get my PlayStation 5 off the Target website I finally got it downloaded mortal Kombat 11 installed demon's souls and started to play demon's souls about 6 hours into the game the PlayStation 5 froze on me gave me error messages and it continues to do so when I play my video games I've contacted Sony and they're sending me a box to send my PlayStation back in to them and they're going to work on it but before I had the box send to me they gave me the runaround giving me options to turn down the settings on my PlayStation 5 this is not fair so when I send my PlayStation in I want them to fix the problem because obviously they know what it is and I think that it's an expensive problem that's why they don't want to help people fix it they're losing money when this gets out so they should do what they should do recall the PlayStation 5 if they need to before this gets any worse

I am getting this myself since latest patch I didn’t have a problem before that I played Valhalla fine an Astro playground. Then started playing gow last week and noticed it crashing everytime am in game so thought I would try another game so bought watch dog legion and right from start does it even tried the immortals demo and that crashes too

I can see a class action lawsuit coming. Bottom line is Sony prematurely released the console. They panicked after Xbox announced their release of the Series X. Sony won't admit it, but it was strictly about the money. If it's not ready, don't release it! Smh

I sent my console in for repairs. Sony sent me a new. This one seems to work. I hope I don't jinx myself.

I think it’s pretty obvious why Sony is lying about “a patch”. They don’t have enough of these things made to replace all these non working consoles!

What is the best way to get Sony to replace your console? Lie? Tell them the console doesn’t boot up or something?
