One of the most common questions I get asked is why aren't my quail laying eggs yet. Most of the time it has to do with the amount of light that they are getting (or not getting). They need a consistent 14 hours or more of light per day in order to lay eggs. In the winter time you need to supplement them with some kind of external light to keep them laying.
