Good stuff. I am the 2nd owner of a 95 GSR sedan. It’s never been modded after decaddes of ricer fads. I recently had the motor rebuilt to factory specs and replaced all the worn suspension and motor mount bushings. Going to reclear the front bumper to make it near showroom stock.
I don't think there's a problem adding an air intake, some polyurethane bushings and rear sway bar to an otherwise stock Integra. The suspension bits makes the car feel better and the intake gives it a better sound. But to each their own. A stock Integra feels great as is too.
i bought a first gen (88) integra for my first car before i knew anything about cars (or even how to drive manual, lol)... for the younger viewers: i highly recommend making sure your car has an aftermarket... if it has a following, it will be so much easier to find not only parts but also info, esp important for your first car
i know im late, but I wish I saw this before buying my first car last summer. Bought a 08 mazdaspeed3 and was hit with the lack of aftermarket options or any ability to source cheap parts. Ended up selling a couple months later but I miss it, def wish I knew better tho Lol
If you're referring tot he Integra Type R, I think they're around 15k-20k for a clean one, if you're referring to the Honda Civic Type R I believe they start at 36000 for the base, if you go with the options they can come out to much higher!
just bought a Clean Title Midnight Purple ‘94 Integra GS-R for 2,800 a week after this was posted! i want to start a channel for it but i only have my iphone
I've recently bought a 90 Integra. It was straight piped and rattles like crazy at the moment. Getting a Cat installed for smog at least but once I get some ramps or an affordable lift, I'm installing the thing back in. Hopefully it won't be rattling after some things are properly added.
I almost don't like the term "starter car" These cars are going up in value. If you ask me, this is another JDM legend. Y'all need to go watch the Jordan Cox video on how he repeatedly smashed the RWD competition in his races. Just because it's FWD doesn't mean it can't hold its own with the right driver behind the wheel. I personally don't see them as a starter car, I see them as a "preference."
Agreed about the starter car image. I mean if your parents are loaded and give you 6-8000 dollars to buy a nice LS, or 10-12G for a GSR, then great, but it's not a starter car price range. A Beat up Camary or Civic ex is a starter car. I'm gonna watch the video you suggested. I love me some Honda smashing on BMW's or anything else! LOL
Good alternative to the type R Honda if you can't afford one would be to look at a Mitsubishi FTO they have a 2.0l Na V6 with mivec which is mitsubishi version of vtec and generally are really cheap not as reliable as the Honda though but another good entry level car if your strapped for cash 👍
@@TsuchiFD ah right fair does I'm from the uk and it's the complete opposite here there about £7000 but you can pick the FTO's up over here for about £800 its mental
@@SirPigeonThe3rdOfDunecaster Holy cow that sucks man, yea Integras (Non GSRs) are plentiful here in the states, a lot are a bit beat but for 2 grand you can't complain haha
Tsuchi I love you but a type r is still fwd. that’d be sick if it was awd though. Ps the new civics downgraded to a 1.5 liter with a turbo. Same hp numbers since like 2006. 8th gen civic si vs 10th gen 8th gen from 06-11 are quickest ;)
I bought a gsr 99’ with 140k miles mint sedan. But it’s got an automatic and no vtec? Was swapped been looking into turbos or 18c heads but like I said No auto tranny.. what do you recommend swap the transmission and/or..? Appreciate the feedback 🤓
I have a friend in santa barbara selling a four door GSR for 3500, but it needs a new fender and the paint looks bad. It passes smog though and runs fine.
those ebay exhausts love to rattle because some ppl forget to buy new rubber exhaust hangers and those ebay ones dont come with them in the box, buy 5 new hangers for a total of $30 and put them on yourself to fix that annoying ass sound
2003-2007 accords are much better. they come with either a k24 or j30 (both can be found in manual). theyre super comfortable and luxurious while also being faster than an Integra for cheaper or almost the same price :D
Just a tip after buying my ej1. DO NOT OVERPAY!!!! Don’t put 4500 dollars up for a 30 year old car. Not worth it. Find a clean shell and do all the work yourself mechanically. Pays off in the long run!
I drive an RSX-S. It feels more refined than the Integra and easier to live with on a day to day basis, IMHO. People get heated about the struts on the RSX, but unless you're seriously tracking the car you'd never know the difference. Anyway, they have mods now to make an RSX handle just as good if not better than the Integra. The RSX has a way stiffer chasis then the Integra, and it's got a much better engine to start off with if you're modding, or even if you're not
@@cro-thehacker7018 why an RSX. I mean they are better daily drivers, but integras are dope too. I drive a kfrank type S. Love it, but almost traded it for a gsr years back
My dad: "you need to stop buying junk cars." Me (somewhat insulted and thinking): "You really don't know what you're missing out on and how much I laugh while driving this Accord.." My next purchase is a DB8. Can't wait lol.
delete this video... I'm already having a hard time finding a clean EM1 lmao. For that reason I'd prefer that the general car community still believe them to be "Ricer cars". The lack of supply for classic civics and Dc2s are boosting the prices sky high.
