It seems to me these whole life Salesmen like to throw variable life under the bus as if there is a big difference. It’s all crap, the reason you see it advertised is because the salespeople don’t need an difficult education or license to sell this stuff that make them HUGE commissions. I never ever understood the “benefit” of paying years and years only to borrow your own money to buy real estate or a business and pay it back as they say.
@GarrettGundersonTV
@GarrettGundersonTV Год назад
Do you understand capital deprecation with bonds? Do you believe in asset allocation? If so, why not protect your cash, get benefits and measure cash value against all other savings vehicles.
@GarrettGundersonTV
@GarrettGundersonTV Год назад
Insurance is one piece. Where do you store your cash? Banks use insurance and you probably use banks. I get sometimes this is oversold. Often it isn't designed to your advantage. But you may not understand about PPLI or fully overfunded plans that reduce commission substantially. And you don't have to or need to borrow. That is only one withdrawal option.
@jamesiscool3245

Why do commissions matter if everybody wins? Nobody says paying a realtor commission is a scam. At an industry conference agents asked a life insurance executive to voluntarily reduce their commissions to increase dividends for clients. Well guess what, the company said commissions are so small in the dividend calculation that they have very little effect and it would hardly matter. Also, PUA’s and base ultimately have a similar commission in the long run. Most people instinctively know this. So I conceptually disagree with the idea of “low commission”. If you don’t believe me go buy a 97/3 policy and see how that works out for you.

@markf.2050 11 месяцев назад
@jamesiscool3245 Many people believe realtor commissions are a scam. But that's not being debated here. Where is the win-win when you die and the insurance company keeps 100% of your cash value that you paid so much to fund? No, it's not a scam but it's very close. WL is a terrible waste of money considering there are way better alternatives. But these salesmen will never show you real side by side comparisons.

Buy term life insurance and invest your monies in a (low fee cost) no load mutual fund. I preferred the S&P500 mutual fund that is available. Once you are Self Insured drop the Term Life Insurance. I dropped it by age 30.

I retired at age 45 for 5 years and enjoyed them with my family. People are crazy to wait until they reach 65 to retire.

You could do that. Live off the interest. Ride the market. But what about cash flow? What about never being able to take more than internet when your assets become your insurance?

Great content .... the thing i see with people who put all their money in pension funds , it seems like they dont trust themselves with easy access to their savings or cash and a pension fund feels like a " save" place to hide their money from themselves ... its like discovering that money in your winter jacket the following year 😂

Pensions, no cash flow, lack of liquidity, automated but often problematic. Good points.

Why should you ditch your 401k for a WL policy? Because the insurance salesmen and companies don't make any commissions or fees on your 401k. Who gets to keep your 401k funds when you retire or die? You or your heirs. Who gets to keep "your" cash value that you paid so much to build up when you die? The insurance company. Why are 95% of people not financially independent by age 65? One good reason is that they listened to guys like these and did not save for their retirement. These guys speak lots of words but impart no wisdom and don't show the comparative details of the various financial independance options.

So easy to get fees on 401ks. There are plenty of them and easy to sell that book of business for a multiple. So, why is your comment about that?
@markf.2050
@markf.2050 Год назад
My 401k is the reason I was able to retire at the age of 55. Had I poured all that money into a WL policy I'd be broke right now. Are there some fees in 401k plans? Yes, but you live in a very fragile glass house if you want to bring up the issue of fees. Not to mention commissions. Please tell your viewers why it takes up to seven years for their cash value to break even. People like you prey on the middle class and damage their potential for financial security in retirement. Your sales pitch can be very appealing to the gullible just like that bait on a hook is appealing to a fish.
