Do you find it difficult to forgive people who've hurt you?
Well you may not be doing yourself or your brain any favors by holding onto that hurt. Being able to forgive and let go has a much bigger impact on our physiological well-being than any of us might realize.
Vishen went through an extremely difficult time in his life where someone had been tremendously hurtful towards him... but when he forgave them, something amazing happened.

Maybe this might not sound right to others it's just my humble opinion to just stop running ads this often. I know that's important and also the content that you deliver is great. I too am a fan of it, no doubt. But, it's all over the place. Almost every video that I try to tune in to , the ad comes up and it completely distracts from the reason I am watching the video in the first place. So, there's no point focusing on something important that is delivered in the video and suddenly the ad comes up and disturbs the rapport.

@@graphicsbyshubham You hit it on the head, "removing distraction from your life"...even Vishen doesn't quite understand what forgiveness actually does in real terms. Hurt is a form of distraction...consuming ones time and focus without gain. Remove distraction everyday and yes you become MORE focused on what you do or aspire too. Money happiness health love all are valid to focus on but understand what you do the moment you don't focus on your goals - you don't hit the success you were aspiring for. You only have a limited time resources so use them efficiently. All religions preach something similar but buddism Hinduism definitely understand the concept of do not be distracted from moving forward on your journey.

We forgive because we feel the other has wronged. In doing so we forgive consciously however the subconscious retains that the other has wronged. The subconscious is 9 times bigger than the conscious which creates a schizophrenia due to disagreements between the two. To avoid this isn’t it wiser to condemn the act but never the actor. The advantages could be several to separating the act and the actor : - the act is condemned and the actor is aware of it so as not to repeat it. - the actor is not cut off from us and may possibly do good acts in the future. - when we condemn a person (even subconsciously we actually first n foremost condemn ourselves ) - also when we forgive others it is a superior attitude which is inhumane.

When you get to the end of it all you realise that the person you need to forgive the most is yourself. Now that is a mountain to climb but the view is indeed worth it all.

Absolutely beautiful. Our body hasn't made in a way that it can hold grudges and bad feeling about other person. It's better to let it go and move on. That way our life will be more fruitful and prosperous. Holding on things make us weak and sad and give us negative energy. You can't change what has happened but you can definitely change your future by staying positive.

Jesus: Bless those who persecute you. Let me tell you a story of a wise man who sacrificed himself to change the world. The story of Jesus Christ. Once there was a sinner in the town of Jerusalem. The sinner John was very angry every time he got laughed at a bar or being ashamed of something he would always get furious and blame it on other people. When one day he got out of his house and saw the person who was believed to be the son of God. John came to him and asked to be baptized and baptized he was. When John saw that he had power like no other he asked him to be his disciple. Jesus accepted and they started living together. One night when Jesus was sleeping John woke him up and asked him a question. "Oh lord, how can you be so forgiving to someone that does not deserve it?" - John said. "You must forgive everyone." - replied Jesus. "But how many times? I'm tired of people always making fun of me and I get nothing in exchange." "Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future, Let me tell you a story of a peasent and a king." - replied to him. There lived a peasent and a king brighter and more noble than everyone before him. One day the peasent had fallen into a huge debt because he had stolen a golden coin from the kings treasure. The king found about it and asked him to show himself. He showed up and they talked about how he stole the money and the punishment he had to overtake which was life time prison. The peasent begged the king, saying he would change if he let him go. The king laughed and said go him: - Dear peasent, the money does interest me, but what do I get after getting you in prison than letting you live free without sin? The peasent promised to sin no more. And a new king was born a century later.

I recently decided to forgive someone who has been hurting me for a number of years. I've been trying to forgive them for a long time, but I could never quite get there. I really had to try and understand their motives and their situation. I finally made a breakthrough, it wasn't easy. But I knew I did it because one day, I woke up and I just felt so light, like something was lifted. I felt no pain. And suddenly, I saw things very clearly in my business. I made a decision in my business that paid dividends. My relationship with my family also changed. And there was no doubt in my mind that all these changes in my life was a direct result from forgiving this person. It made me realize that in all that time I couldn't forgive this person, I was only harming myself- and in ways I didn't think would have any connection.

It is very true that hurt people, hurt people. Is it possible to truly forgive and have empathy if you choose not to want to be in the presence of the people that hurt you. Aren't you in a sense holding onto the forgiveness and pain. People say that forgiveness in not for the other person. I say it is. If I openly express forgiveness there comes expectations from the person being forgiven. I don't believe that people do not want to forgive others. I believe that the idea of expectations and the possibility of further hurt stops them. Forgiveness is also acceptance. Acceptance of another person and their behavior. Sometimes you don't want to accept certain behaviors or energy in your space and it gets more complicated when others can't except your choices. It then becomes easier not to accept or forgive. I believe the most valuable traits to have is self awareness, respect of others and self respect. With these traits we can easily give people the space they need to exist......... I have been wanting to express this for a long time. What's your thoughts?

Sophia Brown ~Well you shared ur feelings out loud, that u said uve been waiting&wantn to say for a long time. Now im gonna do that too, with u...and i dont even know you but here goes. IF i tried to or IF i even can forgive 1 of the many persons that have really hurt me, this one in paticular that sexually abused me when i was very young&I never told anyone bci was told id get in alot of trouble&my mother would send me away if she found out. So ive lived w/this dark secret &this anger&this shame and all the other darkness that has built up&followed me over the last 40yrs. Thru the yrs Ive been thru hell&I've put so many ppl that have loved&cared about me thru hell. I've never got an apology from the person that hurt me. Unfortunately a couple yrs ago i ran into sum trouble&had absolutely nowhere to go&no options other than to come back to live with the person who put me thru that trauma when i was so young. He makes it known that he doesn't want me here (just as much as i dont wanto be here anyway but i have no other options)&he treats me like im a burden, a hindrance and he constantly complains&bitches about everything&anything that I do & or dont do. How Am I Supposed To Forgive This Negative,Miserable, Spiteful P.O.S That I Have No Respect For At All And Have To See&Deal With On A Daily Basis. He's Never Been Held Accountable For What He Did To Me&He'd Probly Deny It If He Were Confronted About It. SO IF ANYONE CAN THROW ME A LIFELINE WITH ANY SOLUTIONS, IM OPEN TO THEM!?! KEEP IN MIND, NO ONE IN MY FAMILY EVEN KNOWS ABOUT THIS!! SENDN SOO MUCH LOVE ~PEACE ~LIGHT 💙☮🌠 🙏BLESSINGS🙏SOPHIA🙏 #TheStruggleIsReal ☆AND I TRULY DO WISH U ALL THE BEST AND I PRAY U GET THE ANSWERS AND THE PEACE&HAPPINESS THAT U SEEK AND DESERVE☆

To both of you beautiful ladies, Sophia Brown & Lucky Angelpy (I assume you're a woman, if not my apologies), I totally get what you are saying and honor your journeys and what you have been through. I can say from experience that forgiveness really ISN'T about the other person - it really IS about YOU. I have a slightly different spin on forgiveness - forgiveness is not about letting the other person off of the hook, trying to understand why they did what they did, or somehow make it okay that you went through what you went through. Forgiveness is all about allowing YOURSELF to HEAL and be FREE from all the associated pain that comes along with it. Here's what it looks like for me: I can recall some of the most painful moments in my life, moments that just about or did break me, without reliving any of the pain. I can recall those moments, not only without feeling all the feelings again, but actually feeling the opposites of them. Instead of anger and hatred, peace and calm. Instead of hurt and bitterness there's a lightness and joy. I took my own experience and put into a course that a lady is going through right now. She also was sexually assaulted as a kid and lived with that guilt and shame and secrecy for YEARS. She's only halfway through my course and she's been able to have more forward movement in the last 6 WEEKS than she has in over 30 years. She called me the other day and told me she can actually feel the healing beginning to take place. She also said not only would she recommend this course to anyone, she made it very clear that it's been very difficult. Those first 2 weeks had her in a difficult spot. However she said the work Works if you work it, and while she has yet to complete the journey, I can see and she can feel just how far she's come. I really don't say this to promote my course (at all) but to show you it's possible! Forgiveness isn't about letting the other person off the hook - it's about letting YOU off of it. It's giving YOU your life back, your freedom, your peace of mind. Your power. Whichever path you take to forgiveness - make sure it's a good one! - and know that not only is it worth it to not spend another day with the anger, resentment, guilt, shame, frustration, hatred, and fear that you feel ALL the time, it's worth it to know joy, peace, wholeness, healing, and what it's like to finally love yourself. Hope this helps!

@@Aishamber Can I just say everything you said is correct. To recap in my own words as well as yours :-) Recap 1 - remove distractions from your life (hurt is an example of distraction). Vishen and others talk about forgiveness but it literally is saying *forgive someone who hurt you so they no longer are a distraction to you.* 2 - with the free "energy freedom and time" you would have wasted on being hurt, you can now focus on something more productive in your life 3 - in doing so moving forward is about you (not someone else) and how you deal with life's challenges (the lows) or even your aspirations (the highs). 4 - everyone who succeeds learns different ways to move forward in life. If I use the metaphor there is an obstacle in front of you. When you feel hurt you feel limited to only moving "forward and back"(hence the obstacle is everything. But maybe just maybe with the extra time and thinking associated with forgiveness you can consider other movements "forward back, side to side, 360 around or above or below to get around obstacle"... You see the metaphor....the obstacle no longer restricts your life to moving in one way only, with a different view point YOU CAN choose to move in any way you want...the obstacle no longer is an obstacle. If you truly want to learn from the experience, the obstacle which directs your journey down another road in life is but a milestone (if not a signpost) to help you to some place better. Who would have thought this hurt you feel will help you move on, if you can learn from it but not be distracted by it you will move on. Forgive the poetic licence but it is all true....starting with learn to let go, or forgive, remove the distractions so you can actually think where you want to go next.

Simple: We need to forgive because its poisonous to our hearts, minds and spirit. Karma will catch up with them someday, that's for sure. Releasing the poison from ourselves is difficult because just as it took time to get there, it will take time to leave. This lifetime for me has been about forgiveness of those who hurt me, it's not about being with them again or re-befriend them, but to release them for my own well-being. Sometimes a whole lifetime isn't enough to release all that poison but we do our best. Namaste

This is such a hard subject. It is easy (or easier) to forgive strangers (or acquaintances) for small or big things they did because they are not related to you, you do not have to see them or interact with them again and you do not share any emotional bond. It is easier to forgive your family on smaller things. But I just cannot think of forgiveness when it comes to monumental things that your own family or parents did to you and they have absolutely no realization of how bad it is what they did. My story is similar to Vishen’s background - Indian parents, forced into Engineering school. BS and MS and many years later still absolutely hate every second of it. He made a smart move to get out of it and I didn’t lol. Another similarity is marrying a Non-Indian just like he did. Again he had it easy. My mom nagged me and low-key harassed for 10+ years about it and at the end that got destroyed. Now I am left with a career I hate and by myself. And she calls me one day (after I stopped communication with everybody and just became a loner) asking me if I am going to talk to her if she said sorry. There is no emotion behind it. She does not mean it. She will just say the word ‘sorry’. Thats it. And she does not know the difference between forgive and forget or just forgive. And the worst part is all the controlling and harassment will start all over again. I hung up. See if that is a stranger or coworker I would be like ‘sure, we are good’. This is just a complicated concept and hard to do when they have zero realization of what they did. It is just easier to forgive somebody you do not have to deal with every day. You forgive and move on.

Maybe a start is to think of how you have been dishonest with someone recently...and forgive yourself for that?! I suppose it all starts with how we like to judge to boost our egos!

I usually don't believe in destiny, but this video has just proven I should. A few weaks ago, my girlfriend broke up with me on WhatsApp. I trusted her and I didn't expect such a cowardly move. I was so mad about her, but on the other side, she's in my class and she's got such a big network and since we broke up I haven't spoke to any of her friends, because than I'd go to her too and my plan was to close this part of my life, but this video changed my complete View. I believe now that we should stay in contact and be friends. Sure it was a big betrayal, but I wonna forgive her and I think I will, but some part of me just don't wants that. It's mad about her and this part controls a lot of me emotions I think, so it's gonna be difficult. Btw I'm not giving her the whole fault and that is why it's so difficult, but I AM SO GRATEFULL FOR THIS VIDEO! Thank you

the only way i forgive is if they completely stop and dont re-ofend. if someone sexually abused my child and i forgave it does not give them a licence to continue the abuse just because i forgave them when they said they were sorry ..it has to be from their heart, or its not true rependance.

Love this. The Bible and Christ taught us to do this. How often should we forgive? 7 times? Jesus said 70 x 7 Matthew 18:21-22. I have to remember this as I live with a person who has harmed me so much, emotionally/mentally, that it has caused deep pain, sorrow, and loss. Stolen dreams, finances, years, etc. I know I have to do this as Christ has forgiven us. It is a very hard thing, but I too wish to receive forgiveness. Thank you so much for this message and bringing me back to God’s Word, i. e. The Bible🙏❤️

There is so much Hope in your message, Mr. Vishen Lakhiani. The message you proclaim is the the message from the Bible. The message of Forgiveness brings Peace. A Peace like no other. A Peace that Only Jesus Christ the Lord and King of this universe presents to us unconditionally. I coincidentally experienced this morning; the very experience you describe here. I went to Mass and confession and the Lord asked me to pray for those that have hurt me. I totally agree, it is very very difficult sometimes. But once you do, there is a Joy and Peace like no other. The Testimony you share here, brings me Hope too! Shall remember you in my prayers now onwards! God Bless!

You should forgive because Jesus says to forgive not seven times when they asked him but he said 77 times 7. Matthew 18:21-22 people are teaching what Jesus already taught us 2000 years ago in the Bible. Be aware people the way things are packaged Jesus already said it! Seek Jesus he's the way the truth and the life and none of us get to the father God but through him, John 14:6, just as he says as none other Allah, Buddha, Gandhi, Muhammad Shiva and so on Down the Line dr. Phil, Oprah lol none of them ever said anything even close and people worship them over Jesus Christ who gave his life! May God have mercy truly may God have mercy on The Souls of those who are not in him fully. They say on the cross before Jesus died he turned his head to the side cuz he was so sad and how evil man had become and how the devil was more lenient in his judgment than people. Maybe that part is just fiction I don't know? But it does seem to be fitting especially present day. Be aware and if you don't know about Jesus I heard you to seek him. Peace be with you all in Jesus of Nazareth name and God bless amen

I'm going to divorce court within 2 weeks. I decided not to be attached to a certain monetary amount. I fully expect that spouse will continue to lie and get walk away with much of the property. If the judge knew what I know... but without proof, it becomes hard to see fairness play out. So, in the end, my life opportunities may improve, and his may or may not... until he dies. Then, he'll be faced with consequences for his behaviors. The Universe eventually restores balance of justice. I can forgive knowing the Universe carries out what each person needs at the right time.

I don't think you should forgive others, you don't owe them that. You should forgive yourself for now those who don't deserve to be in your life will truly bare and wear the blunt of their own karma... Not everyone will have that authentic perception of God above their own sins and demons. You only forgive yourself for not being able to do or be more to help them see that their behaviour's and actions is what will inevitably cause them their own harm and karma. Save your own souls. Your path with God is the most important relationship

I heard a lot of stuff that just didn't make life worth it still. Who cares if the guy who ruined my life feels bad about it. Whats that gonna change for me? He still got what he wanted in that moment and then hes gonna be able to just say sorry and feel good about himself again like he didnt do anything wrong? Thats weak and totally just some stupid garbage to make yourself feel like things are okay. People who mess up and hurt others deserve death it was in their control and they made the decision to defile and ruin the lives of others so they deserve punishment that is harsh and worse and have to learn consequences for their mistakes do exist and eventually be put to death if they keep making worse mistakes.
