You need ICOM to flash with ISTA-P, if youre only using ISTA-D an usual USB K+DCAN cable is fine

Please let me know what's the best forum to find info and a link to the good working interface. Bmwcoding is where I hang out now. Trying to reprogram '07 530xi with a donor DME/CAS. It works but the radio doesn't like the DME. Need steering angle calibration as well.

Mine did not work as well, I changed the IP address to static assigning a new one to my clone. Everything stopped to work, no chance to connect again and enter the clone via Wi-Fi or LAN cable. Technical support was a waste of time since they were not able to tell me how to reset to factory values my clone. (Even the cheapest IP camera has a reset function). After fighting with people that have big language problems when it comes to speak in English, I returned the clone, got my money back and took an original one. Never again

I think so too i use icom next less 1 month than then it not working when I connect icom with vehicles all led light once after off i dissapoint with item

BMW ICOM A2+B+C tool. Will this work on E chassis too or do I have to get a separate ICOM Next, specifically for the older E chassis?

The next Firmware and ISTA+ (ISTA-D) or ISTA-P need to be current. Mine did not work until I updated the Firmware. I would not recommend wireless (unless it is close the Access Point.

Is there a real difference between these that you get from China and the ones you can buy from API besides price?? Also what are the main differences between the old " Orange Box " ICOM the this new ICOM next box?

Great to know hate buying thing that don't work, To help with wifi you can set up a access point in the shop it not hard, I've done it a couple of times for friends, make your wifi more stable but I know thats not the problem here

The NEXT Chinese clone is really an A2 with updated plugs, you are better running the A2. The Bosch passtrhu will work also

i own both interfaces and they work great. Ordered them about two years ago and I have not had any problems with either of them. What I'd like to purchase are two more round 20 pin adapters with the screw on cap. The push on adapters simply do not work.

It is probably ICOM A2 (previous version electronics inside), wrapped in "new" plastic box that looks like ICOM NEXT. You can tell if it is a ripoff by three things: 1) plastic outer shell (box) that looks like ICOM NEXT is Larger in size than the original ICOM NEXT. 2) Inside electronics printed circuit contains blue resistor (trim-pot) located between two interface ports. 3) Price: not thousand dollars but around hundred or two hundreds.

I have both versions. They both do the same thing.when you try to connect to the car the screen goes blank.they were both new and both have the same issue. Has anyone figured out what to do.

I would think that a clone is the issue....the authentic versions usually do not have that happen. The OE icom next a + b and C is usually around $1400 .....300 bucks for that pretty much explains it

LOL, where did you get such price? I bought original ICOM more than a year ago right at BMW parts department and it cost me £320 or so. Always laughed at people buying mock-ups for the same price..

@@antanasrapkevicius3897agree.... the icom next A is roughly 700 usd in the continental US depending on where you purchase from, sometimes less, I have seen as low as 500 usd....if you get the b & c adapters to connect to older vehicles, the additional adapters are more....his clone was 300 bucks and it was shit...if he wants to give 300 usd away, send it here 👍

@@detailedautodiagnostics yeah, the adapters are extra. Must be crazy import tax to US for them, as in UK they are barely more expensive than the Chinese crap. Really no brainer to buy OEM. £320 GBP rounds to 440 or so USD, well even it costs 600-700 bucks in US, still better buying OEM one rather than half price junk that dont work

that is not true i have clone from china paid it 250 usd and it works fine with ista d and used multiple times to program modules in ista p,, you didnt do something properly

Would like to know what version of ista d your using with the chinese nxt as the newest versions of ista d and p do not work with this I.E 4.12.12 which is 2019 update and 3.63 for ista p

Rubish. U don't know anything. What is the internet has to do with that box/interface?? Only mad people would buy that chinese copy and connected through internet with bmw servers... 😁😁😁 If you are to buy the whole kit, INCLUDING THE HDD preinstalled with everything.. works without any glitches. So stop talking about things you cannot understand. It is sad that people like these don't inform themselves about the stuff they want. But, I think you are actually NOT TELLING THE TRUTH that you actually don't want other to diagnose easy they're own car, be it bmw.
