@@El_Presidente_5337 Yeah only 10v10 s have that size, it would be extremely impractical to have those in 1v1 or 2v2, you would run out of units incredibly fast and your requsition points wouldn't even allow you to fill and control even half of those areas lol. But in steel div 2 10v10 matches are full of toxic, racist fucktards. So sticking to 1v1 2v2 or 3v3 is the best
Cracking, concise and thorough review mate. It's convinced me to buy. I wasn't sure if it would have to option to cinematically enjoy previous battles, so I'm really glad you mentioned the replay feature. And that map-size reveal at the start - wow!
If you've ever played the Wargame series that came before this teamwork in 10v10 really does pay off. Being able to through two players at a weak point and then exploit the breach in the enemy's line could make or break an entire game. A bit harder to do with the dynamic front markers though as they see the big push coming.
Are you using a graphics injector like Reshade? Steel Division 2 is a vast improvement over Normandy 44. I love the Eastern Front. The maps are HUGE and the setting is awesome!😊👍🏻
This game looks amazing...and you can clearly see Eugen Systems style and RTS mechanics here...i only wish RUSE 2 was a thing (big fan of both its single and multiplayer). Is this game somewhat identical to RUSE?
This was an awesome video, I already have the game but it's my first ever RTS so I don't know all the mechanics etc. This video gave me a new view on the game, taught me some things! What are your graphic settings? I don't fully understand all the graphics options and my game isn't running as smooth as yours look.
Yes, but because it all moves at or close to real time, there's almost always plenty of time to prepare. Running out of ammo and fuel, just really makes the game better. Otherwise, you can stack orders and AIs good, so can take care of itself.
Honestly, I really enjoy the campaigns in WarGame European Escalation and Airland Battle. I love how challenging the SP is compared to most RTS games as there's secondary objectives, timed objectives, persistent units (veterancy and losing units carries over), and there are rewards from completing objectives that let you buy new units. Definitely some of the best, challenging, and rewarding RTS campaigns imo. CoH2 Ardennes Assault also was a fantastic campaign that had those things in WarGame but obviously in CoH form. But... I will say I never really enjoyed the MP of WarGame. I think because waaay too many players just cheese or find this meta/specialization which utterly destroys players who are new or are trying to have a balanced army deck. The WarGame MP scene has some veeeeery high barriers to entry. And from what I've seen of Steel Division's MP, it seems like the Barriers to Entry are still rather high. Maybe lower a tad because there's faaar less units in SD compared to the thousands of units in the WarGame series.
I think COH2 makes you better at micro-ing lots of small units, so that definitely helps. Rome II probably wouldn't do much for you in terms of it's gameplay.
Hello good Sirs. Is there a button or tab that can slow down the frenetic action in larger maps or at ALL? WW2 combat was nowhere near this fast-paced in combat. they got that wrong. I have read hundreds of WW2 books from the GIs and germans and the action in this is way too frenetic. Besides one can't appreciate what's going on with all the fast clicking which at times makes it joyless. Anyone knows??????
why are you making a video on this? just didn't expect it. I've always gone to other channels for Wargame games, and since this is basically Wargame with WW2 skins and better Line of Sight mechanics, I still go there for my content in this game. so what is the deal here..? I'm confused. is total war and Stellaris (which I also found dubious a year ago, but the Roman campaigns are very good indeed) remaining on this channel Darren?
Total War is still my number one (waiting for some new content to show off), and Stellaris series will be ending around episode e30. I'm did a Cities Skylines video recently and this in the same vein. Every now and then, when I play a game I like I'll just recommend it. I never got into Wargame, but I like Steel Division and it's all Strategy anyway so that's why I covered it!
DarrenTotalWar awesome Darren, it still was a high quality video and now you remind me of the Cities: Skylines video - that was the same vibe indeed (forgot about that one). thanks for your explanation. keep up the high quality videos! left a like ;)
That doesn't mean its bad. Each of these games has its own faults. Red dragon has crappy naval combat. RUSE had its own set of problems. Biggest problem was that "hardcore wargame players" wanted another wargame with modern combat. That is okay, i wanted it too, but that doesn't mean that this game is bad. AT ALL. It's actually quite good.
Vote company of heroes. I already see this game in my friends library. Isee thy just play under 50 hours in this game. This game is not for all people.
I do not like it cuz the game has unrealistic armor penatrations, ranges and skins, but says it's historical. In addition the grafics look like a hippy festival of the 70's, it's also the reason why skins look almost as worse as in COH2.
this should be titled as a review or at least tag as such so more people can find it in youtube cause it's a great review. but as for the game.. not a lot of campaigns in the game, so i've heard. and i don't like to play multiplayer. maybe i'll give it a pass until more content is in
I'm not able to do reviews, I'm not able to be critical/negative about games (because of my job), so I've just done this as a recommendation series. Steel Division isn't perfect, but I do think it's great, which is why I've chosen to do a vid on it. If I did a review on it, I would've focused a couple mins on negatives as well, but thanks!
ohhhh.. didn't know it would affect your job. fair enough. ty for replying. the man himself. this made my day. ok then, more recommendation videos! please!
Swastika is censored and 12th SS has a different commander(they have the original one, Fritz Witt, who was commander on June 6th but died early on in the Normandy campaign, whereas international version lists commander as Kurt Meyer)
Got the game a few days ago after finishing the wargame series. Disappointed what this game offered. Graphics, sound, and game effects werent as good as wargame IMO. Cranked the graphics to high/insane at full 2k and it didnt even look as good as wargame. Game play wise it was decent however.
