Hi Daniel, I am planning to free range Isa brown for eggs (3000). I have a space of 1 hectare land just that purpose ( 7 hectares in total). Do you think its a right decision?
if you keep them dry and clean, then free range is good for them. However, be ready to go on egg hunts, unless you set up laying boxes all around your 1 hectare space. good luck

Use to have local chickens when I was younger. I enjoyed a lot of meat and sell them for money. I handed them over to mum when going to the university. Unfortunately mum wasn't able to handle them. Many got lost; I don't even know if they are still there.
