I see many of you spotted my deliberate mistake saying the original had a camera ;) So the 2mp new 3310 is definitely a step-up (oops!)

This is a bad review. Basically you say it’s “rubbish” because it’s not a smartphone, just a regular phone for calling and texting. That’s the point though. This isn’t meant to be a smartphone. Not everyone wants a smartphone.

I think you are not the target market for this phone, as far as I am concerned there are two key target markets: 1) Phone minimalists: Not everyone is happy with a smartphone and there's a small, yet growing number of people abandoning their smartphones for devices like the Punkt MP01. This kind of customer doesn't necessarily want the cheapest smartphone out there, they want a basic phone that's also a quality device. The styling of the 3310 plus the name cachet set it nicely against premium feature phones like the Punkt. 2) 40-something Nostalgia hipsters, not much to say here, you can see why this phone appeals to these consumers.

what alot of people don't realise is that there are alot of people who only use their phone just to make calls with. They perfer long battery and a small form factor over any game or app. They just make calls.. simple as that. And nokia is loved by so many people so im sure this phone will sell well. i do agree it's a bit to expensive for what it is but these people who buy this phone don't care about that, im sure they would buy it even if it cost more.

Wow. You really dislike this phone don't you? I'm most amused by the storage space. 2 MB of usable space should be sufficient for about half a song or 5 photos. Who needs more than that anyway? :D

I have smartphones and a tablet but i still love classic phones like this Nokia 3310 , it comes very useful for quick use specially the battery

For me, the most important thing on this phone is the antenna. If I can get good signal it would be perfect to leave in the glove compartment for emergencies, knowing the battery life is outstanding. For someone trying to minimize the life clutter that comes from smartphones, this is a great alternative. Also, it sells for a great price.

I think you didn't get paid from Nokia for featuring any of their phones.

WTF!!! the best phone EVER!!!

I purchased the 3310 as a extra phone and love it. The once a week charging and the ability to snap photos. I also find my self actually talking more to people face to face rather than looking into my smart zombie phone.

I was hoping for a cheaper price, for £13 or even less you can buy a brand new phone, you may want to take to that muddy field for a concert or on a night out etc.

I'm quite pleased with this phone. Only reason I bought it is because I wanted to end my smartphone addiction, with endless mobile data spending and recharging. It's also much more cheap than for example that anti smart phone punkt MP01.

Original Nokia 3310 didn't had any camera.

Why I will buy this phone as a second one, work phone, as a pair to my Galaxy S6? Here are my PROs. 1. I talk and text a lot at work. Sometimes I make a picture of a A4 page just to remember some facts. 2. I may forget to put a phone on charge and S6 will probably die next day, 3310 will not. For sure. 3. It is much cheaper than real smartphone. I can say "Not ashamed to buy, do not mind to lose". 4. It is robust, I can throw it on deck without worrying to crack touchscreen. 5. It is lightweight and probably will not trigger metal detectors at work, so I do not need to put it out for check.

This is going to be the phone I use to unplug from information without completely shutting myself out from the world.

I just disappointed about nokia 3310 newest one, I was hoping they making better without playing around it.. if they reinvent a phone with bigger battery and more durable than old nokia 3310... I buy it for sure regardless of price

I think this makes a great first phone for kids or as an emergency phone. But as you said, there are others in that price range.

Disposable phones are legitimate marketed products?! Anyway, I'd be really happy to hear your thoughts on the Blackberry Keyone (which is available to you in the UK now). It's a mid-end phone with a physical keyboard and some unique software I'm sure you would find interesting and fun to review. I am planning to get it here in the states, but it is not releasing until the 31st. Cheers!

God, how pessimistic can you get! I love it, it's a brilliant back to the basic phone. I can't stand how phones are today, it's no wonder everyone's becoming anti-social now, everyone's head stuck in their 'mini computers'. we don't need them. It's just sad.

On a second thought, I quite agree with you. I will go for a battery pack than buy the 3310. but it will be nice to use it for some days .

Keypad phone like this is ideal for texting and calls...but should have larger screen and touch screen at the same time....very complicated for browsing and too small for videos, games and ebook reading...

im still going to buy one so i can use as a self defense

I don't understand actually...it's a perfect phone for people who aren't looking for a stupid smartphone. On a daily basis, I see people texting and looking at their screen in the car, on the bike etc. A phone like this is perfect to innihialate this kind of behavior..I so hate this smartphone-idiocy nowadays. Don't get me wrong, i do also have a smartphone, had broken 3 of these in 2017...mainly broken screens ofcourse. and to be honest ..a smartphone of 70-100euros..isn't 'that' smart afterall and you'll be missing out on many things aswell. Why pay this much for a nokia3310?! Well it is a retro-thing isn't it?! ...why pay so much for a fiat500, or a mazda mx-5, or...well you catch my drift ;-) This Nokia3310 also looks alot better then all the other cheap basic phones...and is more durable, has a lovely feel to it...the price on that matter can be debatable, though, same thing can be said about smartphones going over the 200euros...djeez who the hell even gives 800euros for an idiot Iphone...i never got that aswell. For many people out there it's more of half their monthly pay, still, they 'need to get it'.... I applaud the Nokia 3310 for bringing people back to the roots of all of this. Smartphones are getting more and more expensive, while the durability, batterylife etc isn't a priority anymore. All thanks to this Iphone-cloning ofcourse. And what can be said about the extra 'market' for bussinesses for screenreparation..are we really this stupid to buy this crap?! When giving, let's say 500euros for a phone, you atleast expect it to withstand a little , no?! My last one even broke in my pocket while leaning against something, it was only 6 days old..I'm really getting fed up with this kind of idiocy. Though I haven't bought one yet, i bought a 3310 for my gf and her mom ..both are very happy with them and I'll probably get one too in the near future. Smartphones are just crap overall , from cheap to expensive, none has any durability or even a decent battery.

man that's a blast from the past, I mastered the snake game on the original 3310 when the game was new, the highest you can score is like 3600 and the screen is completely full lol I got to where I could beat the game every time I played it. that sucks tho the new 3310 isn't like the old version I thought that was the whole point of bringing it back.

Nokia 3310 can do excellent manual CALL RECORDING. During any call just select options from left and select Record Call. It works excellent for incoming and outgoing calls. Calls recorded and are available in the SD card. Its a feature now NOT available in even most expensive smart phones, and 3rd party recording Apps are worst in performance.

what do you expect on a re release of a old phone

Car phone warehouse had 200 of these in stock on the day of release and they sold out in an hour, now you have pointed out this phones flaws, I don't think I will buy one. It's just crap but that doesn't stop scalpers trying to sell it in eBay for 3 times the price

I see possibilities of this phone in growing markets and business (sort of like phone you can only use for business calling and so on). But I feel like that new generations of users see this like a toy, but back in the days, that toy was the huuuuuuuge thing. And I would like to see HMD in the future producing nice smartphones.

i get what you're saying, but battery life and nostalgia aren't the only reason people would want one of these. lots of people don't want a smartphone any more. not everyone has a problem with them, but enough people do. they can be addictive and kind of terrible despite the convenience. also, if i'm going to choose a feature phone, i'd rather pay a bit more for one that looks nice at least. seems durable, too. (not a tank, but droppable)

Old people, blind people, buttons people....sending a full message without having to look at the phone at all was huge better in our day moment that nearly made me pick one up just for those times when discretion is in order.

I was hoping for an exact copy of the original 3310 at a price where it would be a truly disposable phone for emergencies. Something you could buy for a nostalgia trip and keep for emergencies. This is different enough to spoil the nostalgia and too pricy to be an emergency phone.

I have a 3g of this phone, I purchased for $89 AUD, I quite like it.

The new nokia 3310 is really not that good because we have smart phones to compare it with nowadays.Technology way too advanced for the phones feature. But I never heard that nokia advertised this improvised 3310 as better than smart phones. For me, I think it is a comeback that nokia is still there. :) I bought one as a gift for my father because lets be honest, it's nice being nostalgic and because my father wouldn't know how to handle an iphone or any other smart phones. ;)

i'am not promoting or encouraging generic/fake phones but Nokia 3310 clones are better than the original. one advantage is the direction and enter keys (clones have bigger and more comfortable to press)

What's the differences between Nokia 3310 and vkworld Z3310? They look the same.

Personally, i think its aimed at the older generation where they want the features on the 3310 e.g. Battery life and also a bit of modern tech. Yes you can get a battery pack, but i dont think grandmas and Grandad's would like using battery packs whereas the week long battery would be perfect :)

I would never use the phone, but it might be cool to put on a shelf, especially since its only like 63/64 dollars. Yeah you could just by a flip phone for 12-20 dollars, but I don't think thats the point of this phone, its all about the nostalgia , I don't know if you can put a price on that.

It's called a classic reboot for a reason, it's not going to be exactly the same as the original. HMD is basically Nokia because they have all the employees and engineers that used to work for Nokia.

The way I see it is it's like a step back in time. When phones had shit games you didn't bother playing and no internet. Fine by me! In the generation that has an app for everything, I want to go back to simpler times with long battery life and simplistic phone features (call and text) ☺️

I'm with you lad, I use my old Nexus 5 as my 'drunk phone' when I can't be trusted taking the pixel out haha. Its been drowned twice and had 3 screen repairs for £10 each time so perfect back up phone

i've gotten a 3G version in Singapore for USD70. There is no way i'm using the 3310 as my main phone,. But well... the 3310 is not too bad for a spare phone for my sales job making tons of calls.
