In general: do 3-5 sets of approx 4-6 reps (with about 1 rep in reserve) 2-3x/week. As long as you can keep progressing the difficulty you can eventually get to the point that you don’t need a band for assistance anymore. -Emile

I only see skinny guys doing one arm pull-ups. Still impressive. I never see anyone that’s Jacked doing one arm pull ups.

They probably don’t train it ever (I’d imagine it’s not in any bodybuilders’ and powerlifters’ programs)

I think I can't do one hand pull up because I eat pizza and pasta and i squat 300lb, my one leg weight more than this guy)))

If by normal you mean common, then definitely not. Much more common in climbers than in the general public, but still relatively uncommon. Like anything, though, it can be trained.

How important it is though? Should one be able to already boulder 7c and up to make "ability to one arm pull up" (vs ability to pull i.e. 150% of your weight) to matter on many boulders?

The importance can be argued in various ways. The strength and stability of the shoulder that are required to do this allow you to approach more challenging/dynamic climbs, and in a sense also means that you have a higher capacity for work in the shoulders, but that of course does not guarantee success on a climb, and is of course even less useful on a climb that does not require much from the shoulders, and shoulders are not always the limiting factor on climbs anyway. Sometimes they can be, and of course would be more relevant in those situations, but yeah. It certainly depends but placing an assigned value on it's importance is quite hard to do.

You’ve said elsewhere to not start working this until you can lift 150% total bodyweight for pull-ups, right? At 200 pounds (I’m a heavy climber haha), and currently one rep maxing 125%, I’ve got a ways to go haha
