You just helped me sis mine is from my heat being pulled and I made a vow to myself that I will never do that to myself. So right now I’m using rice water and I did the big chop... slowly monitoring but having the faith!
While most of what you say is true you are forgetting, or maybe don't know about, frontal fibrosing alopecia which looks very much like traction alopecia. Like traction alopecia there is band of hair loss on the front and sides of the scalp. Infact you can actually have both things happening at the same time but the hair lost through frontal fibrosing alopecia is not caused by anything you did yourself and once lost is lost forever. Medication may slow or halt this which is why telling people that frontal hairloss = traction alopecia is misleading. Actually getting a diagnosis is very important because you can't eyeball it and know what's causing it.
I don't even wear my hairstyles tight and i still got traction Alopecia, i use to wear hairstyles that were tighter but not so tight that i couldn't sleep,i am stressed out,because i do not know what to do,i am not doing anything to trigger this,and its getting worse,i have been natural for 3 yrs
I use to wear my hair in those big puff all the time and then my ex boyfriend pulled my edges out on one side and I combed it and more came out and it never grew back to it original state sadly.
Quick question… is it traction when it’s red kinda sore/tender and smooth feeling the shape is sorta oval , circular noticed it yesterday, I got my locs twisted an styled 3 weeks ago it doesn’t feel right anymore but still noticed the spot yesterday also this stylist is known for right styles one time I had an indention in my head two of them from her .. also I do feel small bumps on the sides of the back of my hair
Frr Im only a kid in 7th ive had braids since 4th and they always make them tight I have it out right now and I looked at my hair line and it was thin and like balding or something I just wanna fix it by myself 😢 I don't want to tell my mom cuss it's awkward but shes going to do my hair as braids again and she says it's going to make it grow even though I know it's just going to make it worse ;-; I was going to ask my mom if I could diy my hair but now I think I'll just wait till my edges grow back ;-; witch really sucks. :c I wanted to do my hair emo so bad to and diy it ;-; but now I can't... Since my hair is probably hela damaged and dying it will make it worse.... frrrrrrrrrrr so if I just moisturize it will that make it grow back? Cuss I've been moisturizing it like every day 2-3 times a day for a week(7 days) and it's still not growing back ;-; how long will it take I don't want it to get worse :((((((((( oh yeah I got my hair straightened so that probably made it worse to x.x
Only if it’s not too far gone. Stop wearing tight styles, braids sew ins wigs immediately. Massage daily with scalp massager and rosemary oil and castor oil. If the scalp feels smooth it may be too far gone
