thank you for an amazing video Chris. I couldn't figure out why my dismissive ex would go out on dates with me even while in a rebound relationship. We would be kissing, holding hands and even telling each other how much we love each other. She would call me hun and sweetheart and she even had food in the pantry for me. I am the only person she got her emotional needs met by and after 7 and a half years we were also best friends. I would talk to her about us reconciling and she would say that will take time and she was willing to put in the effort. But the effort part never seemed to happen. I see now that she was just using me to get her emotional needs met. Its actually a relief because she had me thinking I was loosing it for a while. Thanks again!

If you see this Chris. Saw your clip about stop chasing an avoidant. Me and my ex(she a licensed therapist)started FB msg for 3 months and then started texting directly for about 2 months now. She end it cause she felt I took her for granted(family situation but resolved now) & deeply hurt. Her schedule busy, work, school, family, She pulled back haven't heard from her in a week. Quick advice, if you can, should I reach out again and if so when or wait for her? If no one every ask you, how your life going? Thanks and keep up the good work!

Him and his ex are friends. They were in a relationship 6 years ago and neither have moved on or met a significant other. They both support each other; she acts likes a groupie, he likes the attention but keeps her at an arms length. I can't help but feel like hes using her as triangulation and doesn't want her to move on, she seems ok with this. I'm worried about what would happen when she meets someone new.

I have a question. So I’m in no contact with my ex who broke up with me a week ago over a text message. We have not spoken or seen each other since and I did that on purpose. We go to the same college so I’ve been purposefully avoiding where he will be. Tonight I donated Plasma at a different time than he usually does on purpose and as I am walking into the bathroom I see HIM in line. I go to the bathroom, give myself a pep talk saying just pretend you don’t notice. I walked out and he indeed saw me. I when I came back around he was looking at his phone but was next to the door to leave. I just said to myself “you don’t see him or notice him” and I walked out. As I walked passed he took a step back as if to get out of the way at perfect timing. When I do that, it usually means I was watching the floor and not the phone but wanted to look like I was on the phone. I want to know what he is possibly feeling/thinking? This was honestly an accidental run in, it was not makeshift. As far as no contact timeline goes, I would guess he is still in the relief stage especially since he is posting more frequently on social media. What is he possibly feeling/thinking? Does this negatively affect his opinion of me? Does this count as breaking no contact?

I dont know what attachment style my ex has but i feel like it would be avoidant. But i ran into him after 17 years. We were together in high school and we were going to get married i messed it up. But when he saw me after 17 years he was being loud trying to get my attention. I was even with my husband and 3 kids. I was kind of shocked at his reaction as we had been on contact that whole time.

My ex Broke up with me, she cared for me and was nice to me at the beginning, then I begged and got no where and she was getting angry, came across couch channel and it helped save me and I went no contact. My ex reached out after one month of no contact but not to get back but to deliberately hurt me by telling me she has found someone else and that she hates me and that she never loved me. Then she blocked me everywhere and told me not to ever contact her, even though I had not contacted her for over a month and it was her contacting me. She has also made fake accounts on social media to embarrass me. She is deliberately going out of her way to hurt me, she is in a rebound but I can’t understand why she is trying to hurt me, I am already emotionally devastated.Couch why has no contact triggered this hattered in my ex and so much animosity towards me?

Because she wants your reaction. She wants you to do something. And you’re doing the right thing by ignoring her. Don’t give her what she wants. She’s hella fucked up for that and as time pass she will realize that.

@@mayorotter update, for 3 months post breakup I was devastated, crying almost everyday, feeling like 💩 did not want to get out of bed. Thought I lost love my life, my ex got in to rebound 2 weeks after we broke up and she even send me pictures with the new guy to hurt me. So after 3 months of no contact I got stronger, I did no contact to get her back because I thought I loved her and she was my soul mate, but after doing no contact I realised I don’t want her back, I got stronger, smarter and happy again and have started to date a new girl for the past month and am seeing two other girls on the side 😈. 4 months now since break up my ex unblocks me and messaged me how I am doing? Told her I am not interested. Even with the new girls I am not scared of losing them because now I know I can get through anything. Never sweat yourself if your gf or wife leaves you, yea at that moment you might think it’s the end of the world and can’t stop thinking about them, but believe you will be fine and get through it, when we broke up I was thinking about my ex every minute of the day and having dreams about her every night, now I don’t think about her even for 1 minute of the day and have completely forget her voice or how she looked or smelled, I am happy 😆 dating new girls and I have a strong weapon in my arsenal called “no contact” which I helps get your ex back and to move on and be happy. I should set up a RU-vid channel 😂

@David Michaels I agree! My counselor agreed with me. She probably thinks I haven't text her because I think I am blocked so she opened up her Instagram account to provide another way of contact. I can not bail her out of the break up! She is the one that broke up as well so this is on her shoulder! She has broke up with me more times that I can remember in the last three years! We have to stay strong David! I do believe she will reach out! The only way I will even get back with her is she attend counseling by herself or together! I think she is a fearful avoidant! Which kind of scares me that she won't reach out! I have been the one to get back together everytime! I do love her and really don't want to start over in a new relationship!
