They wrote "more vulnerable", so thinks like: A) taking a percentage damage the partner takes B) no mana/life regen while attached C) lower CD recovery speed while attached D) being CC'd when the partner is CC'd perma-intangibility is just OP and unfun to play against

I said it was so weird how they spent so many patches making yuumi’s passive the way it was bc people complained she wasn’t vulnerable enough. Then when they reworked her to be “less frustrating” they completely removed that and now she has NO reason to jump off her ADC ever….. like what??

@@goatnoodles9162 now she has an AoE heal that can proc shurelyas, ardent censer and other enchanter itens in all her allies (which not being able to do so was one of her biggest weaknesses). How am I mistaken? Did You read the skill lol

And if you can even catch the adc she's on. One game vs Yuumi with Ezreal was enough for me to perma ban her. They didn't even won their lane but just the fact of being untouchable lategame let the 1/5 Ezreal to carry teamfights.

Always liked the idea of a mana-bleed mechanic on Yuumi- while she's attached, her mana slowly ticks down; that way she only attached when it's essential to heal/shield/ult and otherwise stays unattached to avoid being penalized.

You just gave me an idea. Make her passive like Garen with both Mana and Health; to explain it better, if she is unattached then her hth and man regen is increase, not at the levels of Garen but something pretty significant. But if she is attached to someone, then her health and mana is drain and is given to the person she is attached, almost like a constant heal but she can die from it, making it a fine line of attaching when is due, providing the shields, etc but always keeping in mind that you just cant afk and being there.

​@@d.ml.g9902 I like the idea. I (as a yuumi main) wish there were a better reason or incentive to stay off my adc and play normally. but then they took off the mana bleed and I hate that. although giving mana to my adc i guess is fine.

@@lowceyn2875 Because they insist the idea that Yuumi must be easy to play and friendly for beginner. All of these ideas are meant to increase the skill floor of Yuumi. The sad part is Yuumi kind of design really needs higher skill floor because it's just a very intuitive and frustrating design. Think of Abarthur from Heroes of the Storm.

I believe that the main problem with Yuumi is that they made her whole entire identity being untargetable What people hate about Yuumi the most? That she is untargetable, people want them to remove what makes Yuumi Yuumi, basically to make her not frustrating and hated by people they need to completely rework her and give her new identity

No the problem is shes too universally good while untargetable . If she had her w but couldnt heal,shield and hard cc she would be nowhere near a menace. My idea if she was like zilean and didnt gave conventional enchanter stuff shed be balanced and even unique

@@alex2005z if u think like this , zilean wouldnt be good aswell , she cant have conventional tools as her strenght is too good for her to have normal heals and shields. There are a few situational perks or minor cc that usually are only ok but on a permanently untargetable enchanter still worth it For example yuumi gets silence ( hypothetical q) , attach , e is a speed up and spellshield. Her ult can stay the reworked heal one, now she kinda has more situational tools and clear lack of things , she isnt a one champ does it all

Its still quite baffling for me that riot actually decided to release this champ and still, to this day, not thinking too hard about her impact on the game (in terms of bots, toxic people and abusers) ofc they wanna rework her now but its been 4 years

They don't really think too much about champions until they reach Live, only there people's ACTUALLY discover the problems, I still remenber when people said Zeri's only problem was the E during the announcement...

They just need to make yuumi take 5% of the damage her host takes as true damage. This will force her to hop off after large bursts or damage or long drawn out fights making her vulnerable and making it so she can still continue to provide large Stat boosts.

This or something like she is forced to detach if her host gets immobilized. Honestly a forced detach mechanic fits more than damage redirect fits a tank support better.

Yeah, no. The Q is even more crippling and has 1.5x the range it had before, the shield is stupid large and is two lulu abilities in one, and the ult heals her root and every ally it hits. What exactly did riot fix with this rework?

It's funny cuz Yulee truly was the first champion I ever learn how to play with. It really did set me back considerably in terms of learning how to play correctly. I literally had to play Bot games until I was level 150 from level 40 to learn how to play correctly.

yeah i see what you mean by learning how to play the game the hard way, i personally started by playing jax adc with a support item so imagine that amount of difficulty it takes to pull that off, play it long enough to get 60k mastery before getting a second champion, and not inting

​@@dassd8393 I totally understand your struggle (not that I've been through it)! Yuumi has always been an easy, but not beginner friendly champion to me. She doesn't teach you ANYTHING about the actual game in terms of positioning, punishment, vision, wave clearing, trading, etc. She's a chill champion for someone to play who already knows the game, but terrible to start out with. Sure, the KDA looks better from the outside but I do think that there's no proper meaning behind those numbers. Beginners should start out with true beginner champions like soraka, sona or lulu down in botlane.

If they made her W similar to Knight's Vow in a way that she would automatically take a certain percentage of her host's damage instead of the host, this could prevent her from jumping across the entire team and not caring if her teammate dies or not. She has to be able to take damage, even if indirectly.

Its basically what the Dawngate version did with Mina. She provides her teammate with a shield that regenerates over time, in exchange however, Mina would take 40% of what her teammate took as damage. Mina did have generally more hit points and health regeneration. And if she wanted to do her more offesive abilities she had to hop off, which would cause her ability that lets her attach to someone go on cooldown for like 10 seconds.

I wonder if she would benefit from having a mechanic where you can force her off of her target, like if you stun them she is forced off (or maybe even stunned too?). Alternatively, maybe she could share damage with her carry, but not heal herself while on them and so would have to hop off to survive extended fights

It would be fun if they leaned more into Yummi being a cat. Make her a high roaming support that bonds with another player (the ADC), and then earns 'treats' when she assists players other than the bonded player. She'd then return to the bonded player with treats that act as stat boosts, the way a cat goes hunting but will bring their owner dead mice etc. Make her ult have a temporary attach mechanic, give her a way to quickly move through the jungle to get to new lanes. You've kept the identity (stat boost and attach mechanic) but created a high risk/high reward gameplay loop. The more she roams, the more stats the ADC will get, but the more defenseless they'll be.

That would definitely be cooler and more functional, but rito refuses to promote roaming supports since Bard's release, where people would literally play a supp as a second jg. It is also something that sounds reasonable, so they definitely won't.

I think another problem with yuumi is the mindset of the league community: she needs a lot more than her bare minimum to be effective but the reason so many players hate having her on their team is because most yuumi players play her to do that bare minimum, which essentially makes it a 4v5 with an afk yuumi

Agreed. And the whole pervasive jokes of, "oh, you play Yuumi, what series do you watch?" do not help that perception. I main Yuumi, and I would dare say I've gotten pretty decent at it... People don't seem to realise it's much more involved than pressing W once and E on repeat. Not having to worry about movement and autos is an advantage she has, yes, but many do not press that advantage. They just sit, unaware of everything else they could be doing. And thus the stereotype reinforces.

I always thought that one weakness of yumi was that your team in theory loses map pressure since Yumi cant be alone. But since rito hates split pushing or any other win condition besides fighting, Yumi is OP.

@@jirehtheprovider you can, and some champions' identities revolve mostly around it (such as Yorick). Riot just has a bias towards skirmish-heavy playstyles because they believe it to be more exciting than strategies that try to avoid PVP interactions instead.

Oh, there are champions designed to split push. Riot just never lets them be strong since anything not designed to be a dick measuring damage dealer is considered not as "interactive" or "satisfactory to play"

Yuumi's main problem is being untargetable. I think instead of having a heal/shield, they should have made her always use her own HP as a shield while attached, splitting damage between herself and the champion she attached to. Also instead of a cat she should have been a voidspawn symbiote.

In my opinion, yuumi's problems could have been solved without Riot having to rework her E and Passive. They could have made her more condicional by cutting her mana regeneration by 70% while attached, which is a big problem for supports, especially for her since she would me much weaker late game and a bit in early game. If that isn't enough, they could also change her adapative force augmentation to a fixed value intead of a percentage.

If i had to change her, i’d make it so her heals cooldown is frozen while she is attached to someone. That way she (and her partner) have a much more limited staying power, and she can’t just sit on one person all the time. If that is too harsh, you could make it so that using the ability while attached is what freezes the cooldown, meaning you can start the cooldown by just swapping targets as well

I was thinking about a balance bar on yummi. When her component takes enough damage she is forced out of her component. This forces her to attach to someone else or die.

I think there needs to be a way to outdraft her and make picking her a bad choice. Perhaps make it so that she can't build friendship on champions with smite? I don't know the exact answer but that champion has an overloaded kit for sure.

@@Asoudo33 Yeah that could work too, her healing, shielding, movement speed, attack speed and damage buffs on non-friend champs could be reduced to 1/4th of it's total value to get her through the early game. That would mean only very safe ad carries (like Ezreal, Ashe and Varus) could duo with her if she picks someone other her adc.

2:07 is glossed over but it's actually a really great point with a simple explanation. Viego, Aphelios, Akali, and Yone, are typically considered as balance issues. They aren't so overloaded / consistently reliable, and the way all those champs were nerfed was by taking reliability out of their kit. Akali lost the ability to dodge turret aggro, Viego lost range and healing, Aphelios got his base numbers hammered into the ground, and Yone got damage nerfed and the durability update hit him hardest of those four. Yuumi has unconditional untargetability. You can't be inconsistent on Yuumi since the bar for consistency is so incredibly low.

Why don't they add a timer on how long you can stay attached to a champion? X seconds, recast to get out earlier or be kicked if it ends, and place a decent cooldown on it so it has to be a meaningful decission.

make her normal abilities into your usual enchanter stuff with heals and buffs and turn her attach ability into her ult, make it so that she cant attach to another ally and put a limited duration so that she wont perma attach to the carry. that way she can be played like your usual enchanter that has to mind their positioning while maintaining her identity as a champ that attaches and empowers allies.

Problem is it could become even more monogus, I get it the uniques is whats causing the issue. That uniqueness isn't balanced around class she's in. I just don't want part of it just be removed to be "Another enchanter" Thats Bland and I hate some champions for not going through and risking thet unque quirk for being another bruiser or skirmisher. Thats why I wanna keep the constant attachment but add risks to them. Like for Yuumii to do anything there she has to put herself at risk, she needs to block damage to have her ally be healed, additionally if she blocks enough she's able to shoot a projectile that heals her and her ally additionally on hit. Able to block one instance of damage, afterwards the rest is reduced. Like braum sheild.

Before the rework you had to hop of to restore mana and get the shield but now you don’t even have to hop off really anymore. Before there was the risk of being caught and If u picked some cc, especially a hook champ, it guaranteed almost the kill of yuumi and also her adc if she gets cc‘d.

Simple change, give her skill expression by making her W a temporary state in which she can only stay inside an ally for a short duration (5-10 seconds) before she has to pop out and give clear visual/audio indicators to both allies and enemies when she is about to pop out along with giving it a long cooldown that is lowered upon kills/assists or for each time she healed an ally or damage enemies and she cannot jump immediately from ally to ally while in combat Then balancing the rest of her kit will be easy : Passive - old passive is fine Q - Yuumi is able to aim it (like it is in the current patch) without needing to be attached to an ally but damage and slow is much weaker but costs less mana, when attached it does more damage and stronger slow/root but costs more mana E - Heals allies in an Aoe around her but much weaker heal, When attached will heal more but only heals the attached ally + some additional buff + cost more mana R - The current version is ok, just maybe some number tweaks Simple rework but adds skill expression on when is the right time to jump into an ally with clear periods of vulnerability like when she is forcefully ejected from ally after w expires

one thing that is not mention in the yuumi debate, is that having one very strong champeon will ALWAYS be better that having a few somewhat strong champions, because of how snowball works in league, one feed irelia, jax or hecarim can easily run down multiple enemies when ahead. The problem with yuumi is that she is a guaranteed advantage for the strongest member of the team, once she gets her mythic item she can esentialy funnel all her resources into the strongest member of her team, enabling them to start snowballing for free, just because they now have a cat.

(im refering to his bad scaling and rylais dependence in every game turning him into a utility mage which is not what players want). I feel I'm one of the 4 people in the world that played a ton of "traditional" Swain, post-VGU Swain and post-midscope Swain as well and still mains him... and I honestly have no idea why so few people like him as of now. Yeah, the Rylai dependance is boring... but the champion identity honestly never changed that much: you're still a drain-tank AP juggernaut with DoTs (R), a spammable DPS tool (Q) and a somewhat hard to hit but pretty powerful CC (E + W combo, or E by itself). Probably the biggest problem I have with him (that Is not a problem with him but with battlemages as a whole, honestly) is that, if you don't wanna become a utility bot and wanna DPS, you're basically forced to a single keystone rune and a single item build: Conqueror Swain with Liandry + Rylai + Zhonya. But again... the fact that DoT mages literally have a single viable core build (with either Zhonya or Demonic Embrace depending if their kit synergizes with Zhonya or not) is an item design problem, not a Swain problem.

This season has been so incredibly unbalanced it's insane it's like they suddenly have no ide what they want to do anymore. I like that they are trying to do stuff but it's a bit much to have champions swinging from 40- to 50+ winrate between 3 patches...

Why riot are not making her attachment ability with a cooldown? Like: Yuumi would be allowed to attach to 1 ally for only 30 seconds, and then it goes on cooldown for 10 seconds or so. With no cdr allowed to change those numbers. It would force her to waste money on boots, and also give the enemy an open window to take her down...

Yuumi in essentials actually feels very similar to a dota hero: Io. Both tether to one ally and gain the ability to move with them while providing large amounts of offensive boosts and heals to that one ally while having very limited offensive abilities of their own. However, Io does not attach to the tethered target but moves to a short distance away upon casting the tether then can move freely within the tether's break range of that ally. It gives the hero both counter play and skill expression as the enemy can counter the hero by catching it and its tethered ally together with aoes or just find a chance jump and focus down the Io, while the good Io players can skillfully manage their positioning and distance to try and prevent the enemy's attempts from working. So really the easiest fix is just to have Yuumi's tether work similarly to Io's, since that's been proven to work well already. As an aside, Yuumi is the first champion since the early days of league that feels so conceptually similar to a hero from dota. Even when key aspects of a champion feel eerily similar to a dota counterpart (like sylas's spell stealing and viego's copying of stats and basic abilities) the champion plays quite differently than the hero it shares the mechanic with. Meanwhile when you get down to it, Yuumi feels a lot like Io just without the global mobility ultimate.

I have a couple ideas: The first one would be displacement moves: Poppy slams the yuumi carrier, BOOM the cat deataches, thresh hook, blitzcrank's, you get the point. Maybe knockups too for the sake of consistency. That would make it possible to focus her. The second idea would be to nerf her kit to the ground BUT, she now gains stacks whenever she procs her shield passive or whenever she goes out and ataches to another champion (remove the direct transfer and make it so she has to go out first and then attach to the new target). These stacks increase her healing, shielding, boosting etc etc but now you have to achieve it but puting yourself at risk so you have to think it twice. This would also discourage the afk sitting on the same target because your supporting would be too weak without stacks. Maybe add bonuses whenever she has full stacks and then consume them all when she uses a skill.

The recent Yuumi rework removed skill expression. Detaching to get mana or block skill shots was some of the few things you can do that used skill on yuumi and they are gone now to even further double down on her stat stick potential. Which will make people like her even less because no one wants to fight an untargetable stat stick (or play if made gutted). Riot should go the other direction making her w have a duration of lets say 8 seconds before detaching (this is still a really generous window). In exchange give her more pressure in her detached form to compensate for the nerf. If you make her new abilities be interesting detached and attached; for example her E could be held when detached to increase the speed and heal power after doing mini dash. Do you tap to dodge a skill shot? or do you hold to get more distance? or do you wait for your W to come back up to heal an ally? She could become a fun champion to play and play against.

Note: yuumi win condition is having at least one player on the team ho isn't a monkey. If that one player proves he can carry yuumi will attach herself and just win the game of that, exactly because she multiplies the stats. Now imagine a lulu ho can give aid to allies, she gives aid based on her own stats meaning if she is behind her aid amount will be low. Now as for yuumi that is not the case as she augments the ally based on the ally stats so if the yuumi team has 1 fed player, when yuumi is attached to that player now there is effectively 2 fed players. I played yuumi and personally i do not think that yuumi untargetability is a problem as she has to come out to grab a shield giving the enemy an occasional oppening. What i do hate about her is lack of gameplay. For a champ that does not need to bother with positioning she lacks things to do as you cast your abilities and from there you just watch your team fight while you emotionally support them through the chat. Seriously for a champ that needs not to walk she needs more abilities on low cooldown to keep the gameplay engaging. As it is right now it is a chill champ to play but oddly boring.

There was a Reddit post that raises a really good point, Riot is shoving too much resources and development trying to make her work, when it's nearly impossible to without getting rid of her permanent latch W and without it her entire identity is just gone. Look at the overwhelmingly bad season start cinematic, look at all the shit "events" that are there just to farm Tokens for the 5th prestige MF skin. They are throwing too much money at the wrong things.

Her "rework" is already out but here's a suggestion: have a percentage of the damage taken by her ally also be dealt to her while attached. Limit the attach to a growing duration like A Sol Q channel or Urgot's Dakka mode. Make hard CC to the attached target force detach Yuumi.

Abathur from Heroes of the Storm has a similar mechanic where he can "attach" himself to another Hero (Champion) with his Q, but the differences are that it's a global, meaning he can swap to anyone anywhere on the map (accounting for the cooldown of the ability) in exchange for him losing control of his actual body, which is left in a comatose state while he is attached to someone else. Coupled with him having some of the lowest stats in the game (making his physical body very squishy) the counterplay becomes locating his real body and killing him, since he has no in-combat escape tools. In the context of League, where there are no walls to hide behind, Abathur would be much weaker than he is in HotS (accounting for number, scaling, and mechanical differences), but I'd imagine he'd be much more liked than Yuumi. Or maybe I'm wrong and he'd be oppressive, but I still think he is better designed than Yuumi.

Make the Q faster, that always slows and with a small aoe so she can keep poking even coliding with the minioms. Remove the projectile control. W instead attaching her, attaches a "summon" (as aeri). She is always a separate champ. Give her bonus ms towards the champ with the summon. E stack charges per level, consume all the charges to heal and regain a charge whenever Yuumi cast W over a champ. W has a CD on each champion (except on Yuumi) the same way Sylas ult has a CD on champion. Q, E and R originate from (or targets) the champion carring the summon. If Yuumi is afar from the ally "attached", the summon returns to her. If Yuumi dies, the summon fades away. The passive gives the shield to the champ the summon is attached. I'm pretty sure the gameplay is quite similar but now she is a champ, not an extra 6 item slots to any carry in the game.

as a yuumi main i think what yuumi really needed was to put MORE emphasis on her old passive, not less. the most fun thing to do on yuumi was to hop off in the middle of a fight, proc your passive, and get back on, while avoiding taking damage yourself and avoiding getting CC'd, and this is also the most satisfying time to play AGAINST yuumi, since if you were playing smart, you would CC (or kill her instantly late game lmao) while she tries to do this. If she had her power budget moved over to her passive, she would be out more, and therefore more exposed, while also giving her a more active playstyle. her new playstyle seems to push her to being a little LESS willing to hop off, but kinda makes up for it by her only being a big threat when attached to a very specific person, almost always her squishy ADC. not being able to hop onto a bruiser or tank mid-game and steamroll 2v1s is a step in the right direction. now, you HAVE to fight the buffed up carry, but if you take them down, yuumi's real threat is neutralized, and she won't really be doing any miracle teamfight saves jumping onto a secondary anchor unless she's REALLY far ahead.

Looking past the rework, maybe to fix the main problem of being untargetable could be Yuumi has a fair amount of time to be attached to someone before she detaches. Like 10 sec she can stay attached and then the cooldown is 15 seconds at first level dropping down to like 8 or something at max. The cooldown can start as she attaches to someone but there is a window to possibly give opponents an opportunity to jump her still Maybe a good idea with a few tweak

Idk man, that's like pre-rework a.sol solution when u think about how very squishy yuumi rly is (including how her W would be out into cooldown when she's CC'ed), that would just mean u have to bump up her heals, shields and dmg while attached just to make it work. Don't get me wrong, I fkn hate Yuumi. But the only reason she's doing so well rn is because she's new and her win cond is to make it safe for the adc to cs while poking safely- downside is all the dmg and CCs would be focused on the adc instead which sometimes, yuumi's shield doesn't mitigate much if ur not ahead or ur adc is ass at positioning.

The new friendship thingy basically wants you to stay with your adc the whole time and never leave them. Now instead of buffing a bruiser or an assassin she buffs her adc to the point where they'll win most 2v2s no matter what, allowing an adc to comfortably carry games without ever getting threatened because they've got a permanent buff on them that can never be removed. Good job riot, you truly listened to the community with that.

As someone who used to play a lot of Yuumi when I first started the game, I always just wanted her to be decent as a standalone champion. She really can't exist by herself though, which led to me migrating to adc characters. If I were gonna rework her, You and Me would have to pretty much go (which solves a lot of people's complaints too), but most of her abilities could actually stay the same. Something like this: Passive (Bop n' Block): Leave it like old Yuumi, using the shields in short trades effectively is satisfying and fun for the player. Q (Prowling Projectile): Can pretty much be left alone. Straight line skillshot, the damage isn't that much, and the slow utility is cool. Seems more than fair while Yuumi is unattached, maybe up the projectile speed since you won't be able to control the direction anymore. New W (You and Me): Yuumi dashes to a target ally, healing herself. If the target is a champion, they are healed instead, and any existing shield from Yuumi's passive is transferred to them. Yuumi is invulnerable while dashing (can be removed if it's too problematic). Basically, I would remove the attachment mechanic but give her back the invulnerability on the dash and add the heal from her old E (shielding allies with a dash has already been done multiple times). Also she could dash to minions, which would be fun and add more decision points to her gameplay (should she heal/defend herself or aid her ally?). Outplaying engages with W is literally the most fun part of Yuumi's current kit, but the invulnerability from being 'inside' a carry is frustrating for opponents. The new version would still give the feeling of playing a slippery cat, and it could be balanced by adjusting numbers and cd. New E (Zoomies!): Yuumi gives herself and nearby allies extra movement speed and attack speed for a short duration. Cats getting the zoomies is iconic, and it's fun to think that they are contagious to anyone nearby. Gameplay-wise, this would be a nice tool for all-ins and disengages, and it can be balanced by adjusting numbers and cd. There is some overlap with Lulu W, but affecting multiple characters in exchange for the hard cc option differentiates it enough I think. R (Final Chapter): Can pretty much leave this alone too, but shorten the cd on her W while she is ulting (this ability is much less fun if you can't reposition during it). Probably should use old R, as Yuumi would already be doing a lot of healing from decreased W cd, and there is a bit more counterplay if she is forced to only fire in one direction. It seemed like Riot originally wanted her playstyle to be short trades with her passive before dashing back to the safety of her ally, and I think these adjustments would preserve that idea. Now they seem dead set on keeping her W the way it is though, which unfortunately keeps her gameplay boring, non-interactive, and unhealthy :(

They could make it so when she attaches to someone she leaves her book behind and if people destroy the book she pops off the champion. She would also have to jump off when she leaves a certain range from her book. Jumping off would set her attach to a moderate cooldown wich gets lowered if she picks up the book. This would still be a miserable mechanic to deal with but at least it would have counterplay.

There will never be a point where I don't hate Yuumi. It's bad enough when she's a gimmick for the enemy team, but what I hate even more is the invasion of personal space when she's on my team. The thought of another random player sticking to my champion and resigning all their movement and targetability over to me for any length of time will never *not* make me want to dodge.

i think the easiest way to balance Yuumi's mechanics would be to make her W have a time limit. She can only attach for a set amount of seconds before being forced out of her host and have to reaattach to another, all while the ability itself having a cooldown. Trade that for her having more agency as a standalone character so she can at least fend for herself when she's unattached.

Im an m7 yuumi, i usually go full AP, and shes one of my most played characters. That being said, the rework makes the person shes attached too have to auto to heal themself instead of relying on the zoomies. Her q being turned into a skill shot adds a lot more to her, you need to learn the person youre attached toos play style and know when and where to aim. Every missed q is a waste or potential death for your teammate, especially mid to late game when the bigger team fights are happening. You have no control over where you go its entierly up to who youre on unless you detach and then in that case you are basically an instant meltable character. theres so much more that goes into playing her that people dont realize and i hope this new rework gives people a better like for the cat. Her being invulnerable while attached is not a key factor and people focus way too hard on that one aspect.

Yuumi has just accumulated so much underserved hatred. She's seen patches where she deserved hatred, but that's not the case anymore. Her tradeoff is simple : Less utility in exchange for untargetable. Her attach takes up a spell, meaning she cannot provide as much as an echanter as lulu can. IMO Lulu is the closest comparaison, as they both have the same tools to provide for the team. For comparaison : Yuuumi - Q (Big slow, small poke) / W (Attach, heal on hit. Nearly useless in teamfights and skirmishes) / E (Big AS Buff, Some MS, Big shield) / R (A litttle dmgl, healing and slow) Lulu - Q (Big slow, small poke) / W (Polymorph or Big AS and MS buff) / E (Massive shield. Extends Q range without limit) / R (Hp buff, Good AoE CC) All together, lulu undeniably brings a ton more to the table as an echanter. However, Lulu can be focused first whereas Yuumi cannot. This is why Yuumi is fine... It's a simple tradeoff. One the costs so much that whilst Lulu is crazy strong, Yuumi is weak. (Or was, let's see what the "rework" does to yuumi) That's also why she was not fine at all when W gave 20% Adaptive force. Nor when the tradeoff is so violent, she hovers at 40% WR...

well they fixed one aspect of yuumi with the recent update in that she is not longer just a pocket mini fountain which you just spam e when its available, now shes a shield bot that actually needs proper attention to play, but she now has even less incentive to swap hosts or go out since she can procc her new healing passive with her q and she also gives on hit healing (small amount but still healing) just by being on ur adc

What if time she spends “in” her allies was on some sort of timer, like, let’s say 30 secs, and the time could be extended by hitting Qs or shielding an ally, eventually she would have to get off forcefully, but if played well could stay in a whole teamfight; AND when “dismounted” W time could be lower cooldown by hitting Qs. Also, when “mounted” on BF, she could have no “dismount” time. Idk, I guess I like her design, but the untargetability is really a pain.

I am a former yuumi main who got fed up with League of Legends and it's overemphasis on strategy, I am very good at strategy games and so I left, but give me was always my favorite character I just started playing for the visual design because I really like animal and non-human characters in general. Give me is actually really fun when you play her like I did that is to say that you usually try not to hang on a single person for the entire game and usually try to split your attention in team fights to try and keep everyone alive let me hear phone with humans gameplay is that it didn't incentivize this enough. The new best friend mechanic to me feels like one of the stupidest things I've ever done and just in general feels like a total misunderstanding of how Yumi it's supposed to play. I would have been totally fine if they had removed the complete total untargetablability, if they'd kept the spirit of in tact of a support who is in the midst of the action rather then hanging back for the Assassins to pick off I'm not entirely sure how you would do that other than by making you me as slippery as them which would be infuriating but the point is that a lot of people hated you me for the simple fact that she function more like an item in a champion. And when you played her less like an item and More Like A Champion by consistently switching between targets when it was convenient or when characters went into deep she felt a lot more rewarding I won't argue that you mean Took a ton of skill to play. Her skill floor was incredibly low leading to a lot of people really hating her because of how easy she was to play comparison to other enchanters. I can't fault them for that but she is still has a middle-of-the-road skill ceiling, she was by no means easy especially not when your teammates were not very good, and like any and cancer who would left at the mercy all of said teammates. I will claim yuumi didnt deserve some amount of the hate she got, but that was because rito never incentivised people to switch their target, leading to boring ininterrsintg gameplay where yuumi was just a free source of healing,stats and cc you could staple to literally anyone for insane results. It's very pretentious of me to say people were and still are "playing yuumi wrong" but they are playing her in a way which is objectively no fun for pretty much anyone. I don't regret leaving League of Legends and I probably won't ever return but I can tell you that this we work isn't going to do Jack s*** when it comes to people hating yuumi. While attaching to allies is a core part of her design that does not mean that she has to be completely invulnerable to consequences while attached like I said I would have really liked the rework if it incentivized you need to have to run around on her own and stay alive on her own separate from the person she's linked to. I feel like if they were to make a version of yuumi that wasn’t untargetable, it would be similar to Rakan. Jumping between allies providing buffs, projectile with a slow, and lots of cc potential with ult. Main difference would be rakan is an engage enchanter while yuumi would be a similarly mobile back line enchanter. It would probably still be pretty frustrating to deal with tho.

If Yuumi took a percentage of the damage her host takes, her being untargetable would be acceptable. Say, 25% pre-mitigation. This would keep her off tanks and bruisers. Alternately, making it so the enemy could force her to detach after a certain amount of damage is dealt to her host could work also.

This idea only just came to me so apologies if its half baked. Only changing her W here. She teathers to an ally and hovers about 200-300 units away from them. She is still locked to that target and moves when they do, but while attached her own movement lets her swivel around her partner in a 360° axis (ignoring unit collision while attached). This gives her more agency while still capturing the core concept. She is vulnerable independently from her partner but has the ability to dodge (or body block) skill shots on her own, while still benefitting from her partner's move speed. It would also let her adjust her Ultimate aim a bit while channeling. She still locks in one direction, but can straif-swivel to adjust her aim marginally if her ally is focused on other things.

Sad that no one knew enough about Dawngate to realize that an attach mechanic had been done before (and I'd argue successfully) in Mina. Yuumi's attach mechanic and the safety it provides isn't the problem. The problem is that there is ZERO incentive for the player to risk that safety. Yuumi's entire kit is objectively WORSE when playing unattached. She gains nothing whatsoever by unattaching constantly except what was the passive shield/mana gain. Contrast that to how Waystone did the same mechanic with Mina. Mina's abilities did different things when attached vs unattached; attaching empowered unattached use as well. This gave her constant incentive to expose herself by hopping on and off in team fights. Yuumi just needs reasons to unattach and the vulnerability problem would fix itself. Give her kit effects that trigger only when she uses a skill after recently hopping off. Make them good. Hell, make them 60% or more of her kits power dynamic. That would give plenty of incentive for players to risk themselves and your problem with 'too safe' would solve itself.

I don’t know if anyone said something like this, but what if they just put nora ( yuumi owner ) in the game and merge her with yuumi so she can kept the same abilities, but if nora dies then yuumi disapear too. Sorry if you don’t understand english is not my language.

I've been saying this for years now in order to make her balanced she should not gain EXP when attached. This way she is more vulnerable during laning phase and the own team can't complain about her leeching EXP.

Yeah, that rework has come and after playing against her I hate her even more now. They keep doubling down on her being untargetable while on an ally. At some point they just have to accept that you can't have an untargetable enchanter in the game, at least not without some serious restrictions. Some good ideas I saw in the comment section: 1. Turn her Attach ability into her ultimate and make it like 10-15 seconds. 2. Give her current W a time restriction so she detaches for 20 or so seconds before she can attach again (maybe per target instead of general cooldown so she can't abuse those hyper carries running around the map) 3. Make her experience the same CC as her victim (the person she attaches to) so she can't heal / ult / Q when silenced / stunned for example. Giving people an opening to quickly burst down a carry before she keeps healing and shielding again. Really anything that restricts her untargetability or her ability to stay untargetable by keeping her victim (the person she attaches to) alive.

The should give her a spell shield like malz when she dismounts so she could actually have a reason to , like block abilities. When she re attaches to someone it should work like karmas empower abilities. Give the champion reasons to detach .

i think if they made her hop on have a limited duration and inbetween period so you cant infinite attach or chain attach would help. This would force her to wear boots like every other non-Cass champ and/or take flash. I think part of what is so degen about her is not only does she basically just act like a turboboost on whoever is most broken with her attached late game, but because she doesnt have to build for the consideration of being detached she gets an extra combat summ and item slot at the cost of forcing your carry to essentially play completely differently from normal to accommodate her lack of lane presence and the supports need to go ward around for vision. So basically she puts the supps responsibilities onto the carry in exchange for her absurd boons which is why she is broken godmode in pros and basically the worst experience to play in solo queue where your rando adc may or likely may not have any idea how to adapt their playstyle to utilize Yuumi or does and runs you over with it. Not to mention the movement speed boost alone is enough to ruin the.intended kitability of many champs like most top laners and junglers that is basically their main weakness they would otherwise need to itemize around. I mean Galeforce is basically only good because it gives otherwise immobile carries an extra flash-esque dash at the cost of their Mythic item being less effective at the only thing a carry is for (damage), a pretty steep trade. At least when Karma gives a shield with a movespeed boost she is targetable to punish in exchange whereas Yuumi is basically another Heal summ you dont push yourself with way lower cd and little punish options. Fix these things and.I think she may escape her deserved dumpster burial, but otherwise good riddance please destroy her.

What's funny is that almost everyone except Riot knew that Yuumi was going to be a massive issue, if they had any balls they'd just admit that they fucked up and turn her into a Knight's Vow-esque active item that a support could attach to their ADC

Not sure if it's a bad or good idea, but I feel like having counterplay to Yuumi might be done by making her take a percentage damage (50% as an example) from the attacks that the person she's attached to receives. Problem is that even with that you kind of need to face tank (so to speak) a 2v1 fight, just for a shorter time since Yuumi might get killed first.

I wish you had waited for her rework to analyze her or tacked on a low-quality piece at the end, discussing whether the rework correctly addressed these issues. Though I too hate old yuumi (jury is out on new yuumi), HoTS had an attach hero I really enjoyed, so the attach part is not this issue, it's the execution.

if a hard cc drops yummi off the champion, or something, it will help a lot. You have to burn a cc to have 6 sec from their W to get the cat, or the cat have to stand outside and wait for you to burn your cc to get into an ally (sorry for the robot text, I do not speak so much english)

idk if this would actually fix but to me there are 2 things that they should've done: - first is that she should still take dmgs while attached, like 25% of the dmgs her partner takes, so she can't stay indefinitely attached to fighters and tanks bc she doesn't have the health to keep up - choosing between having dmgs and buffing allies, if she's designed to be worhtless without being attached then she should just buff them without dealing dmgs of her own, relying on her utility again idk if this is fine, i guess it would have its fair share of other problems, but to me those are (were? i still don't have played since her update so idk what changed now) the main issues with her

They could just make it so if her attached ally is cced she gets knocked off. They could also add cd to her w to make it so that for a brief period she can't reattach if her ally was cced.

Honestly they should change yumi's w to a regular tether like what old karma had and then they can change her other abilities since they work around that. They wouldn't have to change e, r, and passive as much but have q be completely redesign probably. Here idea as being a damage booster is great but she needs to be easily disconnected from her allies when facing against her.

They literally said that yummi requires skill because you have to decide when to detach to ensure minimum danger to apply her passive. like, as if all the other champs don't have to deal with this to do anything at all.
