Just happened upon this video by chance. I think many of the photos shown in this video are perfect examples of why ISO / noise etc does not really matter when the shot is great to begin with. Really loved a number of your photos, thanks for sharing.
Thank you so so much, that really means a lot to me. I am old enough to have shot on film, and for me, high ISO grain on the Fujis just remind me of film, and I love that texture, that organic feel. I dislike the clean digital look that the internet has kinda taught people is how pictures are supposed to look. I will intentionally shoot at high iso to get that organic feel. I am glad you like my pictures, thank you so much!
Great video, to this day. You've convinced me I need to get the 16 1.4. My go-to right now is the Viltrox 23 1.4, and I used to carry a 7.5mm fisheye with me for those big shots but I recently got the Laowa 9mm Zero Distortion and it's amazing. The FOV of a fisheye but without all the barrel distortion.
Thank you, glad you like the video! As much as I love the 16mm 1.4 I have to say that it is starting to show it's age. On the X-T5, the 16mm doesn't quite resolve to 40megapixel + the autofocus is super slow compared to newer faster lenses on the X-T5. Still an awesome lens though.
@@FlemmingBoJensen Well I'm still on an X-T3 and X-T30 so no worries there. After watching your videos on shooting with the GFX I spent a bit of time checking the sales values of my major organs. Alas, I don't think one of those is in my budget for now. Maybe someday.
Thanks for sharing your four favorite wide-angle lenses. Here are the wide-angles I use: 23mm f/1.4 Fujinon (first lens I purchased for my Fuji mirrorless) (my personal favorite wide-angle prime lens) 23mm f/2 Fujinon (lens came with an X-Pro2 graphite body I purchased) 16mm f/1.4 Fujinon (second wide-angle lens I purchased for my Fuji mirrorless) 12mm f/2.8 Zeiss Touit (love to use this with my 16-55mm zoom) 12mm f/2 Rokinon (third wide-angle lens I purchased for my Fuji mirrorless) (love to use this with my fast prime lenses) 8mm f/2.8 Rokinon fisheye (love to use this for its special effect) 16-55mm f/2.8 Fujinon (use as backup for my prime lenses)
Awesome photos! Fujinon 10-24mm F4 second version is the best: constant F4 throughout the focal range, Weather Resistant, Optical Image Stabilization, and is the go to of some of respected pros yet vastly overlooked.
That was awesome Flemming. I learnt a lot about Wide Angle from this Video . You did a great job in distinguishing the key element; intimacy, right in the action. That 16mm is on my list as you know. The F2.8 is good and I am using my little “Fella”. Thank you sir for that great video. 👊🏾
Those photos are just spectacular! Do you have any favorite settings and shooting modes when you are shooting? Also, have you ever considered using the Fuji 18mm f 2.8?
Thank you! My other videos do have a bit of information on settings and how I shoot, I think particularly the 'My Fujifilm Gear' video. I do own the 18mm F2, bought it in March 2012! It's a fine wideangle, but the 16mm F1.4 is so much better for concert photography. But hey, if you have the 18mm F2, totally go ahead and use it!
Thanks for the video. Love your shots. Glad I came across your channel. That 16mm was the first lens I picked up for my Fuji. I absolutely adore it. The images it produces are almost magical. Plus, you can almost stick the front element on your subject, and it will focus and take the shot. Amazing. The mechanism they used to switch from manual to autofocus is so intuitive. Pull the focus ring, manual. Push focus ring, auto. I recommend this lens to anyone in the Fuji system. Even if you think it's not your focal length of choice, try one out. That little 23mm f2 is another great little lens. So small. So light. So well built. Every time I think about upgrading it to a larger aperture version, I look at the images it produced and the desire goes away. It always surprises me how good it is.
Thank you so much, glad you like my pictures and my channel! I see we agree totally, the 16mm is just awesome, and the 23mm F2 is such a great supplement lens :)
Hi! Great video. You really know your stuff. Do you know if there is a wide angle lens adapter for the fujifilm x series? And which is the best value? Thanks
@@mariusmocan8491 100% available lighting, you are never ever allowed to use a flash at concerts - nor would I want to anyway, it would totally ruin the awesome lights at concerts.
Hi. I can't decide this for you, it would depend entirely on whether you want to shoot very wide with the 16mm or like a bit more of a medium wide at 23mm - it is really up to your taste, both are great lenses.
@@FlemmingBoJensen Hello sir I want to shoot photos inside the room like birthday photos as well as party photo And also outside photography like traveling. I have a 15 45 mm zoom fuji lens I tried with that lens , at widest 15mm lens but the subject appears tiny. Is it compulsory to shoot with 16mm prime lens with close to the subject.
Hvorfor har jeg ikke fundet din kanal tidligere? En kæmpe fejl, som der heldigvis er rettet op på nu. Tak for at dele dine tanker. Jeg har 16mm objektivet som nummer 2 på min liste. Er ellers primært til manual fokus, men har efterhånden hørt så meget godt om det, at jeg bliver nødt til at få fat på det 🙂
It is very nice, but it is not one of my favourites. I also have tested and like the Zeiss 12mm, but 12mm is just too extreme of a focal length for my taste, too distorted. The downside of APS-C sensor is we need those super extreme wide focal lengths due to the crop factor.
@@FlemmingBoJensen I was joking a bit, I like that it's compact but I find it lacks bite. I want compact for street but I love character over sharpness, but and the said (magical)1.4 is much bigger. Love your pics BTW
@@Mr7Poz haha ok yes I totally know what you mean by that :) The 23mm F2 is nice and compact and great but also a bit too perfect, a bit blah. Lacks character, lacks some nice flaws and a 'look' ! and thank you!
