As I was watching this episode for this week I realized how much I look forward to your videos compared to every other series out there that I watch. RU-vid is my primary source for hunting content, I don’t watch regular TV. Each episode you leave me wanting more. I think you guys hit every facet of what makes great content; you have great adventures, your getting it done on your own, incorporate not only friends but your family, and then the quality of your videos is top notch. The quality of the videos, the photography and videography is awesome and you guys consistently produce awesome animals. The harvest isn’t always necessary but I won’t lie, I do enjoy it! I always want more. I am looking forward to next weeks video with more footage from outside the hunt. I can’t wait!

Nice buck even though I’m only 12 I like to hunt bucks my first buck I shot was a white tail I shot it in the front right shoulder and it ran into a creek and it ran away and we never found it I hope that I will be able to shot a mule deer buck just like yours but for now I am sticking with white tails in Nebraska, great videos I hope to see more

I loved this series! I want more of it! I loved all of the camera angles, self filming , all the small edits, the transitions,the segues, the zoomed in circles shots, the small pop-ups with explanations, and arrows and paths you take, these videos are done really well and I truly enjoy them thanks for the entertainment! You can never go wrong with showing more footage. The hunt doesn't end just after shooting an animal, you guys do an amazing job of showing everything involved in a hunt, none of it is boring so please keep up the good work and I can't wait to watch next week's episode! I also want to add how nice it is that you show that not every animal drops within sight and didn't edit it out. As someone fairly new to hunting, it's important to know not everything happens so clean every time. I've been through that roller coaster of emotion just last week of feeling sick worrying you might lose an animal to the great sense of relief and thankfulness when you finally find it. Your videos are not only entertaining and beautifully shot, but also educational. You showed a great amount of restraint and patience by holding off and letting the animal expire.

Man I just can’t get enough! I’m at the point now that I end my work week looking forward to the next Gritty film being released on Sunday. For the record, it wouldn’t matter the content you guys put out, be it hunting or pod cast or the drive home and the kitchen work... if this was a show that aired every day, let me just say I’d get nothing done! Cant wait till next weeks video of Ryan and his daughter, prepare for the dad tears! I’m pretty sure I’m driving my wife and close friends crazy with how much I’m talking about all the gritty films and podcasts 🤗but I don’t care haha. Excellent job my friends! Along with what Bret commented I too carry what I refer to as my “oh shit” bag. And it’s literally a camo hip bag. All my emergency stuff. Where I live we do a lot of boat hunts from the ocean, and if for some reason I can’t get back to the main boat I will have that bag to get me through till I can get out. Brian, Ryan, and the crew... Brian, Ryan and James make the coolest hunting content together on RU-vid. I hope one day I get to harvest a quality buck like you guys get. I'm doing my research and learning how the points and OTC stuff works in other states so can have a chance to travel to get a cool looking buck that puts meat in the freezer. I would still enjoy a video that just had you packing out with no pursuit of game to see the landscape, I have learned things just watching you guys hike and cross streams/rivers. Tremendous. I just watched it minutes ago. I'm in my mid-60s and didn't begin hunting 'til my 40s and absolutely enjoy the planning, conditioning before my hunting season, the hunting, my friends and family, watching, stalking, and shooting the game, not getting any, getting something (big or small), being in the tent, observing God's creations (birds, mammals, amphibians, plants), working my tail off into and out of the canyons and up and down the mountains and through the forests and ---- feeling like I'm write there with you guys on your hunts. You inspire me and teach me and entertain me. All three of you (Brian, Ryan, and James) are excellent at this. Good tips, good attitudes, fun and enjoyable. Real hunts with real men. Hey guys, another awesome hunt! And from what teaser you showed for next weeks video I think it will be a great addition to your hunting series. The hunt itself is amazing and I love the way you guys tell the story but there is still a lot that we do as hunters after the animal is quartered and we are out of the woods. I rarely comment publicly on videos but you guys have made some of my absolute favorite mule deer hunting videos. This series and the series where you went deep into the back country (Big Buck Oasis I think?) and even rafted to get there are my fav's. I have watched the Big Buck Oasis series about 4 times now. Truly epic and entertaining with some great information posted in the videos, too by the way. You actually had a hand in inspring me to hunt muleys for the very first time as an adult at age 59. I loved all the different names for antlers in that scene during the recovery of your buck. Being from Michigan I know what a "Michigan 11 Point " is, we have a lot of them shot yearly. For those that do not what a "Michigan 11 Point " is, hold up both index fingers about 3" apart, you'll understand. Great content, keep it up. I'm also no gloves or chap stick.

My theory on folks who don't use chapstick is that they have tiny, thin lips that are not exposed to the elements... those of us with fat, full lips need a little wax to keep them out of the wind and sun... 🌞 LOL

Great deer. They don't have to be a 4x4 to be a good buck. Heavy, wide, and mature. Just a question though after the shot is made and you could review it and see that he was hammered why wouldn't you have gone in after him just 10 - 15 minutes later after you could see the rest of the draw was clear?

Great question. The camera screen is tiny--what you see in this film (on computer screen after we've enlarged the 4k image) is very different from what you can see on the raw video on the camera screen in the field. We decided to wait and play it safe. We didn't have to... but it's better to be safe than sorry.

I love all your videos. You, Lampers, and James’s outrageous camera work is pure perfection. Honestly, we all need to take a moment to appreciate the camera work and give credit where credit is due. As far as the boots could go, I could really use a pair (mine are held together with flex tape), but more importantly.... I wanted to recognize the man behind the camera! Incredible video brothers! I'm new to the spot and stalk game and your videos have been incredible. Especially love the the behind the scenes reality of the hunt. I learn more from the in between parts than taking the actual shot. Being a Marine, shots out to 500 are actually a bit simple, but the stalking is the most exciting and most complex part of the hunt. Excited to hear your next video details the pack out, processing, and cooking. Love your gear videos and would also love to see some more scenes of the caping and quartering as well! (Agree with @thirdridgeoutdoors, closing with Simple Man and the family was awesome. +Also the animation portion explaining the plan was great! Sustain for furture videos!) Awesome when Mr. Newberg comments! I love my Nevada’s! Been running Crispi’s the last 4 years packing over 180 miles each of those seasons with my goats 🐐! I mentioned to stealthyhunter on IG that an early season velvet hunt with my pack goats is a great idea! Been trying for Newberg also but he just laughs when I texted him about the goats 🤷🏼‍♂️

Another wicked video guys, love the Weatherby rifles too. I’ve got a mark V ultra lightweight in a .308. You guys put out some unreal content. As for what you’d call “unexciting footage”, I think that stuff is just as important. Not the meat and potatoes of the film, but it definitely adds depth to the video. Big fan, keep it up!

Awesome hunt guys. Your "hunt documentaries" have helped me talk my hunting buddies into a mountain muley hunt. We've been zero'd in on big whitetails for a few years now so convincing them to go into new country wasn't gonna be easy, plus We're all in our 50's now, but the high country Colorado muley hunt was great, they were sold on episode one. We've started planning a Wyoming muley hunt for next fall. Your in depth podcasts with the gear dumps and the gear reviews give priceless information for these rugged backcountry hunts and the on screen pop ups with gear specs during the films are great too. Thanks for sharing your excellent hunting experiences with these high quality films that highlight so many aspects of hunting and the dedication hunters have to their craft, and for doing it on PUBLIC LAND... You guys are the real deal.

Loved this hunt series! As with all your hunts I appreciate the info on strategies and tactics. You guys got me when you to NZ on that Tahr hunt. Been subscribed and watching your hunts ever since. Really like the black bear hunts. Very different from how I have to hunt them here in SC! And as far as you having extra content that isn't hard core hunting footage, I enjoy just watching you guys hanging out at camp and cooking game meat and the overall experience comes across perfectly. It's like I'm there with you except I don't have to help you pack meat out! Keep up what you're doing!

Brian Call, I really appreciate your videos. I've hunted whitetail in Minnesota from a stand, but you guys inspired me to take on the adventure of a backpacking Muley hunting trip in the mountains of Washington where I live now. I would love to see a little more of an instructional video of how to break down a deer in the field for packing out. Look forward to the next video.

Thanks guys for all of the time and hard work that you put into your hunts and shows. Love them all. I really enjoy all of the content. As for the Crispi boots, I got my first pair (Briksdal GTX) this year prior to the archery elk season here in Western CO. Wow what a game changer. Love them. Can't wait to get some "sheep feet " in them. I have been trying to decide what my next pair would be. Thanks again and have a Blessed and Merry Christmas.

Awesome work! Matching the song with the video is a lot of work but you hit a home run with “Simple Man” and the video. I see you and Ryan as “Simple Men”. Keeping things in perspective and moving forward. The part where everyone was low on food and you cooked the tenderloin and heart was epic! The content you post is super clear and edited to perfection - keep up the good job fellas! This is the only hunting content that I have seen on RU-vid that is in 4K. It seems like you guys were seeing a ton of rut action. What time period is your favorite to hunt mule deer (e.g. mid-November)? As an easterner from MD with a 9-5 I have to plan my trips months, if not years, in advance. So I’m looking to increase my odds of seeing some action when planning my next mule deer adventure.

Gritty has quickly become my favorite hunting content! You guys are killing it! Keep it coming!!! One thing I would like to hear you and Lampers cover is how you guys choose where to hunt. I understand not giving away specific information just would like hear you guys go through the process from drawing tags, scouting, figuring out glassing locations and where to camp etc...Another thing that I think the viewers would like is a background story on how you met James and then watch him pull the trigger on a giant like Browtine might just have to remind him to get a tag!! Lol

You guys are making the best hunting videos! Watching them on Sunday is a tradition better than watching football. I really enjoy getting to see the various aspects of the hunt; the hike in/out, seeing different bucks, camp set-up, stalking the buck, the shot, and the recovery. Poor Sly! Can’t believe you left him behind while you had all the fun haha! I could only imagine what he was thinking about with only having 150kcal for the day!! Great job on capturing the adventure Brian, it’s not easy to both hunt and film but you blokes manage to get authentic footage every time. Love it. I’m looking forward to next week mate, it might not be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s almost the most important part of the story.
