In this video we are preparing a Toyota Land Cruiser BJ73 to swap the original 3B engine for a 1HD-T turbodiesel engine and a 5 speed transmission. That's why we took the full body-off to give us more access to the chassis for easy installation. furthermore the brakes and suspension are also rebuild.
also we add a new air conditioning system and we soundproof the whole car.

This is just brilliant...!!! I've always thought of swapping the 3B with the 12H-T but the 1HD-T is even better.

Both the engine's are very good. The sound of the 12h-t i prefer over the 1hd-t. The output of the 1hd-t is bigger.

I can see you have being doing a great job. Question, is it easy/better result upgrade a Toyota 3.4Diesel adding a turbo, intercooler etc etc or put a “new” engine like you have mounted inside this portugueses BJ73?

A 1hd-t is a bigger and more powerful engine. It runs smooth and it is an original turbo engine. You can also add a turbo to your 3B. This is also a nice conversion. But a 3B runs more like a tractor.

Is there any connections between the body an frame except for 4x4 switch sensor, speedo cable, fuel lines and brake lines that I'll have to watch out for when doing a frame swap on my lj70? Edit: might be a bit late but haven't found information on it anywhere else.

Bro, can I double confirm if Landcruiser BJ74 and LJ70 the same (length and width)? Because I thought of swapping the BJ74 top cabin into LJ70. Possible?

The Lj70 is a short wheel base and Bj74 is medium wheel base. This don't work.

Use the LJ73, KZJ73 Or BJ73
