Huge Elvis fan!!! So glad you got his Jet. I have been in the 2 that are park at the Graceland Park and Evil loved elegant stuff, but just think how poor he grew up. If you ever get a chance to go to the park it is worth the trip. To read all the stories his teacher wrote about him and see his parents W2’s. Then the cars are awesome. All his outfits he performed in are there and much more. The tour to the Graceland house is great too, Lisa Marie voice is on the head set giving you the tour😪. You must stay at the Graceland hotel it is amazing!!!! the food there and the park is very good. So even if your not a Elvis fan like me there are plenty of thing to do and enjoy, but I think once you get to know a little about his history and read some of those sweet notes you’ll understand Elvis was just a ordinary guy that made it big and had some ppl using him for money and didn’t care about his health or him.

She’s gotten over her initial angry reaction which was why you ended up in the doghouse, and now she’s trying to envision your dream without losing her temper or hurting your feelings too badly. Remember the old adage that time eventually heals all wounds. It’s just gonna take a tad longer then you thought. Hang in here buddy.

Even though I disagree here's some ideas... If you're going to blend it into an RV, You're going to need some of those parts you're talking of... I would set it on a pusher type frame, Repurpose the fuel tanks underneath for diesel tanks, Hollow out the tail section for a small bedroom over the engine, A modern semi front fenders bumpers headlights lights to blend to the bottom of the nose, Side skirting to cover up any tanks, generators and any other ugly blended to the bottom of the belly. Wing and rudder tips attached attached to the sides just to give it a touch of Jet styling, like the fins on a Cadillac.

It's a 1962 Lockheed JetStar. Elvis bought the plane on December 22, 1976 for $840,000. Take the plane on tour. Fans would love to see this!!!

I reckon, rather than trying to make it into an RV that drives... you should mount it on a trailer and get it towed to wherever it will be displayed... then tow it to the next place. Making it into a driving thing will mean cutting it more and more... then engineering for tags. Mounting it on it's own trailer will be far easier. Just thinking out loud

8:55 A small point in the larger scheme of the awesome Elvis Jet is the fittings, cabinets or joinery are not really "wood", they are "timber". If the fittings were unseasoned wood, rather than carefully seasoned 'timber', they would have deformed, twisted, warped and misshapen rapidly and not held their shape over decades in the desert. Timber is the product of wood following the long process called 'seasoning', which traditionally can take six years or more to complete, before 'timber' is finally stable and suitable for transformation into furniture or use in a joinery project.

Jimmy, Since the MOVE, I been thinking about the fuel tanks, AFTER WW 2 the old fighters had drop tanks and the Military excessed them and guys bought them, then turned them in to race cars. An idea might be to cut these tanks in half and sell each half for an exorbitant amount or auction them. The tanks themselves do have a size conducive for a 4 cyl, or v-6 in them. The cut ends can be manipulated for a nice rear end. Personally I'd sell each half for around $25K, and that would be a little less than half back on your buy. Just throwing that out there.

Hi Jimmy from down under. A couple of idea for those wing tanks would be, 1. Make one or both into salt flat racers 2. Join them up into a land speeder replica similar to star wars. 3. Use them as wheel spats on the RV conversion. Glad the missus liked the beast so maybe some leftover bits could go to her business premises perhaps. Love the show, what's happened to the MIG??? Thor
