I love that one of the people who have the intelligence, creativity, and technical aptitude to create an electric diesel hybrid also refers to one of it's safety components as " spinny floppy thing" 😂😂😂 Please never change sir

It's called a wig wag anyways spinny floppy thing is DOT recognized during tests

"Intelligence" Makes a device that makes virtually no noise. For their *_BRAKE SYSTEM_* so no check on that... "creativity" Didn't make the wig-wag so... No check on that. "Technical aptitude" Again. before they didn't make the wig-wag and their air brake system is NOT unique. So... No Check on that. as for "safety" Yeah A Minus check for that I'm afraid. So totally score is... "Disaster awaiting to happen."

I love the wigwag low air indicators better then the buzzers. Because depending on how bad sh8t is going down one may not hear the buzzer over other noises. But the wigwag is hard to miss because it's in the line of vision

Amazingly, these are still in production and are still OEM spec on a large number of vehicles, although not trucks. Several states in the US, New York and New Mexico being the ones I know of, have them as required equipment on school buses cause with a buzzer it's easy for it to get drowned out by the sounds of unruly children or distracted and ignore it, but with a wigwag in your field of view you can't miss it. Steep price tag new though.

You guys are probably the only brand that understands simplicity and analog will make a product last. There’s a reason larger company’s will hang on to 30-40 year old equipment. It will have long paid for itself and has few gimmicks. Please no annoying buzzer for low coolant. Experienced it frequently operating Kenworth T800s. Almost always had faulty/sticky level sensor in the tank and wouldn’t shut up. Or small coolant seep after they’d cool down. Also I love the dozer inspired interior. Please continue that theme if you make two passenger or sleeper version. Lots of leg room and visibility is a huge selling point for drivers.

@bobbiac
@bobbiac Год назад
I have a thought and it's kind of serious question.. how are you going to handle signaling/lights for regenerative braking? Are you going to do like buses and have a solid yellow light? Or maybe an accelerometer that automatically engages with the brakes?
@snaprifice
@snaprifice Год назад
Does Regen braking have more force than a conventional engine brake? Some trucks light up the brake lights when the engine brake is on with no fuel pedal input, others no indication at all. Theoretically an accelerometer would be more accurate. It gets kind of confusing watching a truck hold 50mph down hill with the brake lights on the whole way.
@bobbiac
@bobbiac Год назад
@@snaprifice some vehicles have a "one pedal" mode. Basically probably? the Regen can actually take a large sedan from 70 mph to stop in a pretty short amount of time. Have a look at the video technologyconnections posted on May 25
@seabream
@seabream Год назад
@@snaprifice I actually prefer systems where the brake lights are triggered by braking input regardless of source and regardless of whether you're actually slowing down, because from the perspective of the traffic behind you, the thing they need to take into account is whether (assuming same initial speed) they need to apply braking force in order to maintain separation. If you crest a hill and begin going downhill and start applying braking force to maintain a constant speed, whether from the actual brakes, or engine brakes, the traffic behind you needs to do the same or they'll speed up relative to you, which could be a problem. The fact that the lights'll be on when the truck's at a constant speed going downhill isn't confusing if it's consistent and understood. There are cars that do this too, and others that don't, and that's what makes things confusing. I don't want to be coming up behind a vehicle that doesn't have the brake lights on, but actually is applying braking force.
@EdisonMotors
@EdisonMotors Год назад
I disagree. I need to know the difference between a truck maintaining speed with the jakes and a truck in front of me braking hard for something going down hill It also looks so stupid when a guy is Jake shifting and it looks like he’s tapping the brake lights while setting off from a light
