Hi, Its Tony, I contacted you a while back about the SD card for the programming and we emailed back and forth, this is my CH and my username (gcebiker) if you are ever over on wheelchairdriver.com :) I have done another video...its a bit of a ramble but i hope it clears it all up, I will upload it later today. Short answer is : That I used the original Shark Bus cable, cut the end off and wired it to the emulator board. The emulator/remote is designed that it can be easily swapped with the original joy and plugged into the chair while you are sitting on it ( if you have a Shark Bus cable that is double ended ) . Its not been designed as a toy (tho even an unborn child could see the potential ), it was purely designed to be able to use my only (at that time) chair to pull double duty. As a vehicle to get me about on land and to launch my kayak or boat to be mobile on the water. As time permits , will also try to get the remote to be able to be run in parallel as an ATTENDANT joystick...and then if i can do that, have it so that it can be locked and unlocked remotely. The lock/unlock is for if i get to a stage where i leave the Original Joystick attached to the chair, while i am out fishing, i dont want anyone to be able to drive off with it :) ...will hinder my ability to get home :)
+gcebiker I cannot understand how I typed David there... I had your email open at the time and had fully intended to type in Tony... Sorry. Brain failure. Cheers!!
I've got Jim Conner's channel and Github repo. Tony, could you please post your repo as well? I have been hacking a few wheelchairs for mobile transport, and love the Wii Nunchuck idea!
Summary here, gctek.me/dynamic-controls/shark/rc-wheelchair-controller/ . I have the code and the working thread over on www.wheelchairdriver.com, I'll post a new video soon, there have been further refinements to code and to the implementation.
