Here's a cool idea Nintendo, what if you had the background be based on the game that's in the disc drive, or the game that you've last played. To keep the Wara Wara plaza from looking too stale.

Wow that's so very amazing. We're able to do voice and video chat with our friends through the Wii U system just like Skype. I can't wait to get a Wii U. It sure will be fun chatting with all of my friends through the Wii U. It's finally released and the wait is finally over. It's written on my Christmas list. I know the Wii U will be so much fun to play. Happy Gaming everyone!!! :)

I also loved the Easter egg in the WaraWara plaza when its your birthday, your congratulated by other miis in the plaza with confetti and exclusive music for the celebration. I love my WiiU so much!

Boy. This console really got stripped down in terms of content over the years. I really do miss Miiverse, the plaza, and the little things that made the Wii U stand out. Definitely a shame that the console is pretty much dead (even the online servers). While this isn't my favorite console, it definitely is still a decent one that had some good memories over the years.

The start-up noise the Wii U makes at 0:05 is so mystical and amazing. This is amazing menu music.

O cod... The console had so much put into it... The game library had a few greats, but it's kinda sad to see how it flopped in sales- although, it waw a glorified Wii and Splatoon machine for me, but I still enjoyed it.Splaton was awesome. Although, I have been enjoying Splatoon 2, and look forward to Splatoon 3!

You know something I really love about the plaza theme? Throughout the song, the gamepad emits an echoing bell-like tone, and then the TV screen echoes its own version of the tone almost like a sound off. It gives me a huge sense of the connectivity between the two screens.

Really wish they would've expanded the Miiverse plaza thing more. It's really cool but there's 0 customization and features for it. It could've ended up being like a 3d Twitter, which would've been amazing.

I played the Wii U at Target today, and my lord the gamepad is light. It's so amazingly light that I actually forgot I was holding it during a demo a few minutes in. It's insane.

Hahahahaha, I started cracking up when you mentioned your job security and then went and took a jab at 2 of your bosses. That's great. I also love how Reggie drew a heart. Iwata's all business and he's all love and fun. The perfect awkward blend

I think WaraWara Plaza is the same place your Miis hang out on the Wii's Mii Channel.

The startup screen on the Wii U is kind of scary. That cavernous alien cave music with the echoing "WUAH's" from all the Mii's.

I miss the WiiU days. Wish people could have known it was a new console I already knew when I first saw the WiiU because just like DS they had 3DS.

Miiverse is the name of the social network that connects everyone together on Wii U (and other devices eventually). WaraWara Plaza is the name of the main screen.

It's a play on what Hollywood used to make background actors say in order to imitate the murmur of a crowd without writing lines for 100+ extras. However japanese doesn't have L's, so Walla translates to Warra, but that's probably copyrighted by Hollywood so they went with WaraWara to play it safe.

You know what I absolutely love about what Nintendo is doing for each of their operating interfaces this generation? The music and atmosphere, man. When I first got my 3DS, the vibes and general feeling I got from just the sound and built-in applications was so welcoming, brought me back to the days of the Gamecube home screen even. Looks like they're doing the same thing with WaraWara Plaza here, and that is such a good sign of things to come...

That conversation between those guys was mindblowing.

Yeah it would be awesome to watch TV or play a game with a mate with video chat operational at the same time.

The WiiU GamePad is kinda like the "you never have to stand up anymore" controller. The WiiU appeals to everyone and does show that we can potentially have everything our way.

I would also love to see the Wii U Chat make its way to the 3DS with its front facing camera.

I'm sure someone has already commented this, but "wara wara" is the japanese onomatopoeia for indistinct chatter. Like that you'd find in a crowded space.

There's also the fact that you can easily single it out or make the games more vertically grouped. ^_^

In my interpretation the WaraWara Plaza could be called Jibber-Jabber Plaza or Bustling Plaza or most accurately Promenade.

Somebody should speed it up really fast. The Gamecube main menu theme was actually the Famicom Disk System start-up sound slowed down 16x. I wouldn't put it past them to put an easter egg in here too.

There are always a few who will never get it and that's fine ..but they will have to except the fact that wii u is here to stay
