Voice-chat is one of the functions I use the most on XBox Live... I sure do hope they will add universal achievement system in the future; the whole point of gamerscore/trophy is for players to compare dedication and accomplishments as a whole in one glance, rather than comparing individual games. I've seen a lot of people claiming that "no one cares" about achievements, but trust me, I work at a gaming store, the majority of gamers cares a LOT. Other than that, Wii U online looks fantastic.

I remember watching this video when I got my Wii U back in 2013

I really want Miiverse back because I want to see comments on people's Mario Maker 1 courses, See comments on Super Mario 3D World and see ghost Miis, See some Miiverse posts at the background on the Miiverse stage in SSB4, And share and view stage builder stages, and see games and stuff in the Wii U home menu... ☹️ Please Nintendo... I've had my Wii U stopped working since June 2017 and got it back working on October 28th (My Birthday) 2019 and I bet I have a whole lot of notifications! I want everything on the Wii U and 3DS back to normal!

I want the Miiverse NX to be separate from the Wii U. Start over with it Nintendo. Delete the update and other updates that made Miiverse horrible. Listen to us fans! At least make a random Miiverse discussion community for us! Oh and let the admins be less strict!

I must say i'm impressed. I had my doubts but the network functionality is looking great.

This was a good presentation! Bill Trinen and the japanese man were both down to earth and it was refreshing to see after all the obviously acting and smiling families. I see why you'd try to show us people having fun but it just isn't fooling anyone and makes me feel awkward. Down to earth and some humour is the way to go guys and you really nailed it with this one. Please try to focus on this style more in the future!

At Game(UK) and Gamestop(US), they have Wii U demos up now. :') I played it yesterday. The controller was weird at first, but then I was like... well I couldn't react because I was so blown away at how comfortable the controller was to hold it when I finally figured out how to hold it right.

Yeah, it baffled me when I first learned that in a Japanese class many moons ago. I don't have much Japanese computing experience, but it seems like kanji are automatically implemented, kinda like auto-correct. Also, it makes a bit more sense if you think about it: all programming is done in English, and they learn English as a second language, so it's easier that way also.

That too, though I can understand. Reggie's background is in marketing so I can understand him having a certain poise that sort of shuts out the little humanizing elements (for lack of a better description) that most people exhibit when trying to present/promote something. I would also agree that by comparison those like Iwata are more down to earth and probably more relatable because of their mannerisms, like you said, with the unboxing video as an example.

There are achievements (I think they're called "Accomplishments"), but they aren't mandatory for game developers to put in. I assume most games for multiple platforms will probably put them in anyway, if they already have them designed for the 360/PS3. They do have video chat, and I assume at some point in the future they might make it support over 2 people, but right now there aren't any details.

Suppose I bought games with a Nintendo ID, and my Wii U gets broken. Will I be able to download/install all my previous games on a new Wii U without being have to buy the games again? Like on Steam + PC combo?

There is an achievements system, but it's similar to that of steam on the PC, where developers can choose whether or not to include them.

Miiverse will be available for 3DS at some point in the future.

Nintendo Network and Miiverse will be added in an update to the 3ds early next year. People need to see this.

It's a reference to a video from Nintendo Direct where Iwata appeared on the camera holding a banana for no reason, and then casually went back to talking. XD also I hope u find one by Xmas time! IDK if there will be any left by then. I am getting mind midnight of the day in comes out ;P

I think the banana was a hint to Donkey Kong, while this orange was poking fun at people's reaction to Iwata and the bananas.

Can each user on the Wii U have his/her own Nintendo Network ID? Or is it limited to one Network ID per console? I sure hope it's the former, similar to how the PS3 and 360 are set up.
