I really enjoyed your sewalong, and wish you would do more of them. It would be great if you would share hints and tips on different types of fabrics, garments etc, and I would particularly appreciate advise on sewing stretch garments .

I came across your site a few weeks ago and love it. I love your fabric hauls, pattern reviews and of course your makes. I commented not long back on your lovely fabrics (i'm suffering fabric envy) and now making my way through your past videos. I really liked this pattern so will be purchasing it and even better now that you are doing a sewalong. I'm returning to dressmaking after many many years away so I'm really enjoying being inspired by you. Some of your patterns I own, theres a vogue dress V9253, the Zadie, which I've not long purchased and not started either of them to name a few. I know you are doing something with the vogue pattern as I've seen you mention it so I will eventually, with my watching binge, get to it as although it says very easy I'm concerned about the bust as I'm large chested. Don't know whether the advice from one of the books you mentioned about high chest measurements would work here. Ive never done a FBA before and don't know whether i will have to do one so it puts me off but I'm confident I will get it done for the UK summer after being inspired by you. Went off on a tangent there but a real heartfelt Thank you to you, by far my favourite RU-vid dressmaking channel. You go into so much detail which I really appreciate. Fantastic job

I love this style of video!!! I’m starting my sewing journey &a ordered this as my first pattern! I’ll probably start with the shirt first. But watching how you sew encourages me, that a little bit of attention and dedication can make the dress look beautiful.
That was fun. Thanks for showing us. Just so happens I have a length of mustard linen lying around I bought to make pants last summer. ( but then I found mustard linen culottes in a sale bin in my size and bought them instead!) I could make this dress!

Your dress is gorgeous - ooh, that colour! To prevent 'losing' my notches, I put tailor tacks set in from the edge of the seam allowance. Very annoying to lose your carefully positioned notches!
It looks like a terrific make! My mom's been on chemo for a few months and she's generally a bit cold. We are going into our winter so we just added turtlenecks under her usual clothes (roll necks, for you?) Best wishes, Auntie. You'll be lookin good.

Thank you for posting these helpful tutorials. That linen has a lovely sheen in daylight. It looks great on you and kittys adore you, so cute. We'd appreciate any sewalong you chose to do. Maybe you could do a video showing us some of your favourite patterns, then we could request a particular tutorial, if that would suit you?
Thank you a great video I have learned a few new tips I didn’t think off. When I need to gather especially a large area I use shearing elastic on the larges stitch instead if basting stitches then stretch the fabric along the piece that needs the gathers, sew and after just take the shearing elastic out it comes out quite easy, it then loosens out to the correct width. I use this method because I’m useless adjusting the gathers and end up with more in one place than another. I would like to ask your advice I’m making Style Arcs Montana dress which I saw on one of your recent videos, it says you can use jersey as well, I have never used a woven pattern for a jersey would you recommend I go down a size because of the ease. As for a sew along, I'm hoping to make pants soon, but as I just started sewing in June, I'm a little confused by the structure and pockets ! I like the linen elastic wide leg style. Hey there! I have been looking for more info on this neck facing as it is different than others I have done. When you stitched the line around and then folded the outer edge in, did you clip it? Otherwise it would bunch? I am tempted just to do bias, I've ordered a tape making kit but it wont come for almost 2 weeks and I want to wear this shirt!
sarahannedesign yes apologies with that video! My battery died just at that bit and then it skipped forward to the belt! Yes after sewing the facing to the neck I always clip the curves before under stitching and pressing inwards to Topstitch! Sorry for the late reply xx
@@thedahliasewciety Hi no worries at all! I don't think my question quite made sense though, so hard to write about these things. I do know to clip the neckline once sewn in, but rather I mean the large line you sew around the outside of the facing first at 1/4" and fold under that gets top-stitched into place. the part that you fold under, did you clip that? I've never sewn a neck like that, normally just zig zag stitched the outside of the facing and then top-stitched it. When I am trying to fold it ironing it it is getting all bunched.
