Imagine if area zero was completely different in both games. Area zero in scarlet could've had an abundance of trees and herbs from the prehistoric era that completely filled the crater as well as it being a place where the primal pokemon thrive and come from. Area zero in violet could've been the exact opposite, it would be a cybernetic wasteland filled with high tech security systems with motion activated alarm systems which summon the futuristic pokemon to that specific area. Damn, while Area Zero did not disappoint at all, this is such a wonderful idea. Perhaps completely normal at first, but each floor level changes more and more the deeper you go, until it's completely swamped with vegetation or cybernetic landscapes, since you're slowly getting closer to the time machine.

the problem is that this doesnt make sense. The time machine is only bringing pokemon via pokeballs. the crater itself is natural.

This and main theme of this area do an excellent job of feeling surreal, almost haunting. Like you KNOW something has gone wrong, but there’s still peppy energy here just like in the other battle themes. This track will stick with me for a long time.

The revelation at the end of this story was perfect for how the games were marketed. When the 2nd trailer released, people were going crazy online regarding the professors and the Box Art Paradox Pokemon. Throughout the entire game, we barely even get any context on the professor or even interact with them. Then reality comes crashing down as you continue through Area Zero. You start asking yourself: "If these Pokemon were released, how is the professor safe?" "Where would they even be if they made it out of the incident that released these Pokemon?" "Why would they lock themselves in a lab that still releases these dangerous Pokemon?" Such a great plot twist that took advantage of our expectations.

I don’t mean it in a bad way, in fact I mean it in a good way. The scenery looking so divine, yet the melancholic and mysterious music tell you that this place is not what it seems. It immediately set off warning flags in my head and I proceeded through the area with extreme caution and hesitation.

This track really captures the otherworldly...beauty of Area Zero as well as its extreme threat level. It feels as though you are stepping in a place that you do not belong, an isolated garden frozen in time, a paradise for the supernatural.

My expectations for the crater were completely opposite to what we actually got. I was expecting insanely strong Pokémon, with all of them being futuristic/prehistoric. I was also expecting nothing but dirt ground with thick layers of fog in the atmosphere, where you can only see yourself and the ground. The final result completely surpassed all expectations I had. But, above all, this theme completely blew my mind. It’s beyond magnificent. Whoever composed this and the overall area zero themes should be proud.

There was an image somewhere of Great Tusk surrounded by trees, so I was expecting a thick and foggy forest with paradoxes scattered throughout, with a few buildings and caves here and there. What we actually got blew my mind and has stuck with me for weeks after.

Got here last night and man when people said Area Zero blew them away, they really meant it. The way you entered the area to the presentation, it's like you're playing an entirely different JRPG altogether. Seriously it felt like if SMT and Xenoblade Chronicles had a child and the result is Area Zero. And that's not an exaggeration.

Everything leading up to Area Zero was kinda slow, but the payoff of going into an unknown place that’s off limits for normal people was so freaking hype. Gave some Made in Abyss vibes that had me all giddy. And this is now my favorite battle theme up until this point.

@@tlst94 yeah, plus Arven’s mabostiff is proof of the strength of the Pokémon down there. With it taking damage that poke centers and potions can’t heal. There’s also the whole thing that happened to Arven’s dad/mom, where they perished in Area Zero. Unlike some other games though, I think they handled the writing of Area Zero pretty well, & gave genuine proof that this isn’t a safe place.

@@tlst94 Cerulean Cave has crazy strong Pokemon and the strongest Pokemon ever made (Mewtwo) in there Mt. Silver is off-limits because it's a dangerous mountain where you'll probably freeze to death unless you're prepared like Red

It's so alien and I love it. Especially against specifically Iron Moths, Iron Juguli, and Iron Valiant. I won't lie, it'd be cool if Scarlet had it's own version that sounded more primordial, a bit like the primal Groudon/Kyogre theme.

I always imagine Area Zero (at least the boundary) will be heavily guarded since the director told us not to enter Area Zero. At least I was expecting a plot like someone would stop us, challenge us a battle before going into the crater and explain to us why it is prohibited to enter it in the first place. Given with this theme, it literally telling us there's some serious business going on here so it would really fit if there's some character give us a mental preparation before entering Area Zero. I believe it's a missed opportunity in term of story telling for not foreshadowing something to us before entering the crater. I was in total shock when Area Zero overworld and battle theme played, like oh my, am I still playing Pokemon, why the tone so serious all of a sudden.

I mean, to be fair, the great crater is exactly that: a *crater.* The only reason you were able to get down is because koraidon/miraidon can glide safely down. I think what would have been better is if they show that there used to be defenses there, but they’re busted up and abandoned. *that* would show that something in area zero is very, very wrong.

Yeah, frankly, this song works perfectly for a legendary like Miraidon/Koraidon. It’s perfectly fine that it’s used for all fights, but yeah, that would have been cool. Or they could have just used the modified version that plays in that one fight in front of the zero lab, that also works.

I really love it. But. Sorry. At 2:04 to 2:11 it repeats a bit the rithm and I feel ... confuse. It's really odd. I don't own the game but I thinks it's an error. If it is, RU-vid give you the chance to cut parts of a video without taking down. Could you fix it? Again sorry an thanks for uploading this.
