Brilliant Dave 👏 Stunning location and some nice gear. I've got a couple of travel rods. A Shakespeare spin and a bison spin/fly. Looking forward to wetting a line this year.

Thanks Ervin - I have been studying your vids for filming tips! need to break out the Mavic drone...it's been sitting new in the box on my shelf for 4 years, trying to sort normal videoing first...maybe this year...

Another crackin vid. I didn’t know about knots affecting the breaking strain on a line. Makes sense and good to know! Cheers

Thanks Man - though I said it a bit wrong, meant to say only 50 - 70% of strength after knot tied not loses 50-70% strength...if that makes any sense!

Thanks Kevin - Nope never seen a soul...just the way I like it! North West Lomond does not give up it's secrets easily to the casual walker. Like to throw a bit of info in here and there to vary it up a bit. You have some cracking quiet spots in your vids too...so many hills so little time...

I fished that wee lochan many years ago and there was an old wrecked boat on it,some nice wee lochs further up too,the pipeline is a horrible scar on the landscape

Hi Jennifer - some bits of the wee boat still there...done all those Lochans too - many times that's been my passion and hobby for the last 40 years (every named Hill Lochan and Reservoir with 5 miles of Loch Lomond and many beyond) (only started filming it now I have retired very early) I don't normally name them mainly because technically you need the Land owners permission to fish but they are all returned and the land is respected. My mates ashes are on this wee lochan...he loved this place - the pipeline is what it is, unfortunately we need our Hydro and water, one day hopefully all the pylons as well will be underground electrics or something better!🦈🦈🎣🎣👍👍

Am very much along the same lines Dave,I have cast a fly on all the hill lochs in that area many times,I used to call it my home ground, sadly my health isn’t what it used to be and my hill days are over, difficult to accept but it is what it is.The Fox loch is one I never actually returned too although I had a very good trout in between a succession of half pounders, that must be a very special spot for you considering its significance, have you caught any decent trout there Dave

Great place it is - nice and quiet, the entire area, can count on 1 hand all the people we seen fishing these Lochans over the years...maybe you were one of them! Pity about your health I am going the same way but can still get on the hills so want to get them all videoed (not as good as all the early days we done them but still worth it for the memories) the "Fox" loch like all the rest is hit and miss but first time we fished it was a single fish of about 1.5lbs and every other time was either blank or fish from 0.5 to 1.5lbs, - yes very special place. Thanks for subscribing - Dave👍👍

Cheers Iain - North West Loch Lomond Hills...kitchen just gets better and better (once I sorted Mick's finishing work 😃) remind him about our bet...only if/when we get in front. You should video your work. Dave

@@ALochOnTheWildSide Stunning spot bud, we’ll maybe get a chance to explore one day. Too many weans 😂 Brillaint 😂 we’ll get there mate 💪😁 I’ve thought about it, was thinking of buying a go-pro not long ago.

@@iainmacdonald4433 I'l be deed and if not then doubt I will be walking much more than the corner shop 🤕by time your weans are up...besides you might have more. Go for it - maybe get yourself a Sony zv-1 instead of the go-pro, bit more expensive but better quality and features while still easy to use, product showcase mode lets you film close ups without loss of focus...worth it for that alone.
