First wild camp of 2024 and so good to be back out in my Soulo tent. A great pitch, lovely food and fantastic views over the city of Sheffield at night just perfect.
Yesss!!! The best things in life are always the ones worth waiting for! Welcome back, Pat, it's great to see you outdoors again, fit and healthy and inspiring us to get up and get out there. I'm watching from Saudi and your videos always make me feel close to home. Another couple of months and I'll be following in your footsteps once more. Really good to see you!
That wine was cursed Pat 😂. Brilliant entertainment once again. A great start to 2024. Raising the bar when it comes to the camping space on RU-vid. Thank you for Sharing your memories of the area and campsite. Really looking forward to the upcoming videos. Best wishes pal. Paul
Hi Paul and nice to hear from you, I do follow your camps and Podcasts are great, don,t always comment, always in a rush and I'm retired !! Great to share the campsite, such amazing views especially at night, took so may photos over the years at night with various cameras, now got a iphone and amazed at the quality of the photos and the ease of just pressing a button. Not so good in low light in the tent, or that maybe be me and some fine tuning. Looking forward to a great year of adventure and wild camping, you never know we may meet one day.....all the best Pat
@@patrickdickinson6492 Please make it happen. Be great to see the two of you share camping stories over a pint or 5 in your shed pub. What do you think about that idea @PaulMessner?
Pat, I've got your RU-vid video playing on the telly, heating on, and a drink. A perfect way to spend an evening. Please carry on making your amazing videos. I even had the summer house installed yesterday, which is going to be my pub shed. Excellent video as always. Rick, formerly of Lincolnshire, now living in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Ey up Pat! 😂 av ya just about finished? My turn to talk nah 😂 I was sat at home with a nice cuppa with a lap full of dachshunds after a short excursion over to Houndkirk Moor this evening (test out my new sleeping pad) and surprise! Pat up ont’ moors ☺️ made my evening that. Thanks for making me giggle tonight…get some shorts done 🥃 my self and all of your fans would love that. Looking forward to your 2024 adventures, ATB, Sarah
Hi Sarah, lovely to hear from you, a bit chilly out there, but we make the most of it. It is a magical spot to camp up there, so many memories and such a happy place, my main worry was someone had got there before me, luckily I had the place to myself. Very satisfying when you know your kit all works and keeps you warm, dry and secure..... here's to many more great camps........ thanks Pat 😁
Hi Pat, really great to see the legend back out camping. I'm sure you realise by now that you have inspired many of us viewers to get into hiking and wild camping- including me, so a big thank you for that mate. Wishing you a truly happy, healthy and blessed new year and hope you get chance to make some more great content with us over the coming months. Atb Bri.
Nothing better on RU-vid than seeing a new upload from Pat! Great to see you back out enjoying a good meal and a drink in the wild! I look forward to the conversion video, right up my street that Pat, and also the Barcelona adventure. A great couple of vids ahead 😊 all the best mate, Lee
My wife and I really enjoyed this so much we had to watch some of your good old oldies, everything you do interests us, Tunnels under Sheffield and the area, Beer and the Shed Pub, Cars, Flying, you name it. I cant wait for Feb so we can see what you've done to that cute 208. Its just great to see you back and in good positive spirits, I do love Sheffield and the Peak District, I'm 67 and haven't been in a tent since I was 18-19 where I went to a campground at Flamborough Head. Thanks a bunch, Enjoy Every Day Patrick.
Really nice of you to say, and great to share my adventures in Sheffield and the Peak District . When out wild camping I'm in my element and feel so lucky, and so happy......, all the best Pat 😊
You dont just watch a video from Pat on a whim, you set a side a time where you won't be disturbed, fluff up your comfy chair and prepare drinks and nibbles. Thats how I watch a video from Pat at least. Excellent video Pat, you never disappoint. Happy new year to you sir. Looking forward to all your 2024 camps. ATB Jason 👍
Brilliant Video, absolutely superbly watchable. The wife was completely fascinated with the 3 course meal and a bottle of wine, cooked, eaten and drank in the tent on a hill. I'm mid sixties myself and she's never fully understood why i do it but, But one video watching you Pat and now she knows 👍 Mind you it'll be a disaster if she susddenly decides she wants to jin me on my next camp.🤣 Thanks, Pat and lookin forward to watching your short trips to Cork, and Barcelona.
You threw me into a panic with the cork problem.... for a second, because I knew you would have a backup! I carry the Victorinox Climber. I ran into the same problem a few years ago, and boy, my wife never let me forget about it. Fun camp, lovely food, God Bless my friend.
Great to see you back Patrick. Great video. Cows scare me - always best avoided. You are the only wildcamper that cooks a gourmet meal. All the best Patrick.
Welcome back Pat, had a few drinks last Sept in the Three Merry Lads; tin your honour, not a bad pub at all, great food too, and and just a few miles from my in laws back of the Shiny Sheff in Westminister Avenue, great snows in the winter up there. Incidentally, always a wise policy to give cows, calves orr not, and certainly bullocks a nice wide berth, wherever you come across them, and you have to negotiate a safe thoroughfare across their territory. It can be be successfully done, these critters can be very nosey at the quietest of times.
Very glad that you didn't make your break permanent. Now living in Sydney Australia I used to live in Hathersage so know Ringinglow very well. Lovely video, Thank you.
I'm catching up on your videos now Pat! It's been a while since I've watched them and I'm super enjoying them!! Watching from Queensland in Australia 🙌
Hey hey hey hey overwhelmed great nice one Patrick when you can make we're all getting older you know but you're so entertaining and I think you're great some thumbs up keep it going a little bit
@@patrickdickinson6492 I love watching your content it's absolutely fantastic for me I think you are the best being an old one we've still got it in ourselves I am cracking on 70s age and I'll never give in you make me feel young
Brilliiant menu! Wish I was dining with you! Thank god you didn't need to call search and rescue to deliver a cork screw. That was a close call and crisis adverted!
It’s awesome to have you back Pat! Happy healthy new year to you & yours. Hubby & I have missed you immensely!!! Love to see you back out wild camping cooking up a feast! Your videos are so inspirational! Looking forward to seeing the next one. Look after yourself. ❤️x
Thank you Sylvia, I've missed the wild camping, but also enjoyed my time away, visiting different places, just need some more hours in the day, hopefully a great year ahead of us and lots more camping.......thanks Pat
Disaster averted thanks to a Swiss Army knife, always carry one as Patrick would advise, it’s saved me twice in the hills so far, great to see you out in the hills again, better than watching the telly 👍🏻
Yes great little device to carry about, although mine did get me into alot of bother at Windsor Castle, how was I to know there were security checks !! .....all the best Pat 😊
More videos please. Your camps are a massive uplift to me, especially after my PTSD which occurred after I appeared in a homes under the hammer episode last year. The release of new videos from you are a massive uplift. Keep.them.coming. much better than those nightmares of the brambletastic pricklepatch.
Another brilliant video! Happy New Year Pat. Great to see our legend back on the Toob! Hopefully, many more happy camps for you, and us to look forward to now. I think it would be great for you four local Tuber's to have a joint camp somewhere and take us along with you all. I bet the conversation would be really interesting as you compare your experiences with us. Thanks for all the pleasure you give to us!
"Mr. Dickinson I presume!" Patrick, nice to be on another walk with you. I am a fan. Hope your bruise heals soon. Thrilled you are back with us. You were missed. ,❤️❤️❤️🙏
Great to see you wild camping again Pat! Really enjoyed the video. Looking forward to seeing your new car camping setup. Cheers! (P.S. Weetabix is one of my favourite quick breakfasts also!)
Thank you David, good to be out filming again, although it took a bit of getting motivated with all the poor weather, so good when back up in the hills....... thanks Pat
Maybe a few people use this campsite but nobody makes such Gourmet Pat meals with such a good selection of wine. The secret of the Swiss Army Knife is to stand up and hold the bottle with your feet. The secret of burnt Crembulet is a small blow torch. Of course you already know all that. 😅😅😅😅 Great vid Pat. Welcome back.
Very important part of any wildcamp is the food and the cooking, probably the bit I plan first, working on the creme brulee, just need a flame thrower type attachment....all the best Pat
A Patrick Dickinson production....thought you'd hung up the tripod and gear...Glad to see you're back Pat... Hope to see you film more this year...All the best ... TIH.
Nice one Pat, Like you I think food does need to be washed down:) Good job you had the "Waiter" Swiss army knife with you. Saved the camp:) It's looking like we could all be in for a cold winter. I didn't know you was on a diet Pat, a Sea food diet. Sea food and eat it diet:) Creme Brulee is one of my favourite sweets too. Haha I know Paul, I thought he would find your camp site, love the log book idea:) All the best for the forthcoming adventure this year. Bye Then... And a Happy New Year too :) Sandy
Hi Sandy, yes my first camp for a few months, makes me realise what I've been missing, but like yourself I have alot of varied intrests, and its difficult to fit them all in. Love the cooking part of any wild camp, and trying different meals etc, probably a very healthy meal this one. Anyway all the best for 2024.....thanks Pat
Awesome Patrick. Great to have you back. I'm hoping to wild camp in "Pat's Place" in the very not too distant future and leave a little comment in the book. Learnt of so many amazing locations in the Peaks thanks to your videos. Look forward to seeing your next adventure.
Wahoooo! To borrow a quote from John Mills in Ice Cold in Alex…’worth waiting for’. Highlight of my day! It’s a ‘ruddy’ 😉 good pitch, I’m lucky to have used it many times…and will look out for the notebook on my next visit.
Wonderful entertainment as always.I hope you get a typical Irish welcome in Cork and If I bump into you the Guinness is on me.Best wishes for 2024 Pat.
Me retired 18 holes of golf today now relaxed feet up watching Patrick - life is good and great to have old/ young Mr D sharing his adventures and talking to us. Greetings Australia
Brilliant Mediterranean wild camp Pat. Really looking forward to your up coming video of the mini car conversion for camping as I have been considering doing the same with my Vauxhall Astra estate, hopefully I will pick up a few tips from your video. Good to see you doing what you enjoy again my friend.
Thanks Ronnie 👍...perfect camp great location, and great food. The car camper conversion was a great project, your Astra estate sound ideal, looking forward to sharing my conversion and ideas....... thanks Pat
What a great surprise to turn you tube on and to see this great video, thanks for putting up this video was great to listen to you, spilling the wine made me chuckle lol , all the best Andrew
Brilliant plus not many flies to contend with 😀 And you can always push the wine cork into the bottle with a stick and stone as the hammer if desperate for a drink!
Wonderful camp loved your menu 😂😂 I would have chosen something similar . What a great idea to have a wild camp log book 😊😊😊.Looking forward to your future videos ATB for 2024 😊😊😊
Hi there Sue, yes a beautiful place to spend the night, even though it was freezing outside I was warm and cozy in my tent. The log book was a great idea, let's you know who has visited and what they thoughts were........... thanks Pat
Hi Patrick wonderful wild camping spot and others like it as well. I must admit it looks great and I do like finding these places where you think this is a nice spot. I just love watching your cooking and what's there to make. Swiss army knife is just amazing little thing that's you can take any where with you. Winter camping.id say is more adventure feel to it than summer camping. I'm looking forward to your car stealth camp as I've never gave it much thought but seen youtube videos on it so I'm thinking of doing stealth wild xamping and even thought of wild camping under a bridge yo see if myth is true about a troll who doesn't let you walk over a bridge. Looking forward to next video should be really interesting and exciting. Take care!
I must of spent days roaming about the hills above Sheffield and occasionally you find these perfect spots to camp, this one more well known now, but so many more gems up there. Working on the stealth camp video next week and hopefully get it soted for Feb......thanks Pat
Thank you, looking forward to and sampling some of your Murphy's and Beamish stouts. I do have Irish great grandparents, so I always felt a connection with Ireland....... thanks Pat
Fantastic video. So glad your back with your wine and food. And fantastic views of Sheffield where I grew up. Looking forward to the next video. Keep warm. Ange 😊
