It’s waaaaay to wild in the streets, & worse than what it used to be in the yesteryears. I been in this game since the early 2000’s, & I can recall some things similar to this back then, but as a whole & collectively, it’s just more wild shit that’s going on these days!!! It’s on another level now.
@@SpeedJunkee1981 cars are a lot faster and more readily available these days coupled with inexperienced drivers. This be the outcome. I remember back in my days of the mid 2000’s, if you had a 400hp car, it was easily one of the fastest on the streets/around. Now it’s a laughable number.
@@SpeedJunkee1981 Its just upsetting when I go to a cars and coffee and people feel like they have to show off, and ruin the show. And this incedent just proves why they shouldn't.
When the cops go and shut shit like this down before anyone even dies and people get pissed. “Why’d the cops have to shut it down it’s just people having fun?!?” Yeah now you know why.
@@kimo3099 problem is... if something happens, then the state has to use even more resources to respond to the emergency. An emergency that shouldn't have happened in the first place.
rsanjur with all the killing robberies going on I doubt car meets are even a leading factor to their responses 😂 they like stopping these because it’s more easier then responding to real crime lmao
He wasn’t the only one doing fly-bys, just the only one to cause a accident and kill three people. It’s amazing how the pack mentality mind set takes over and encourages you to do things that your rational mind knows is highly unsafe and dangerous.
With your philosophy all football games, super-bowls, concerts or any event with large groups of people should be banned. gtf outta here with your zombie logic
@@john-martin i never stated anything should be banned...just highlighted WHY people do what they do when other like minded individuals are around. RIP to the lives lost.
JDuval904 Even though that may not be your intention, its amazing the freedoms that are allowed and praised to be taken away using zombie logic while all in the name of “safety”. Guy shouldn’t have been racing like that agreed, however “pack mentality” is often the approach of an elitist perspective with an agenda and kind of demeaning to the human race. Per the tens of thousands of car meets that take place across the country each year with zero incidents, this was a very very rare occurrence showing your “pack mentality” philosophy to be more of an emotionally guided straw man theory than any actual truth. Its very unfortunate and my condolences goes to the families involved however 99.9 percent of your “pack mentality” were safely just enjoying another car meet. RIP
@@john-martin sheesh relax John Martin; now you're just thinkin too much into it. Duval904 ain't wrong; that environment definitely contributed to that dude doing stupid $hit, get over yourself.
Thats so Nathan He was showing off in front of people. He probably shows off in front of his mother, shows off in front of his gf, shows off in front of his friends, and was showing off at a car meet.
@@AuroraSun94 I'm agreeing with you there are to many excuses though why many don't go to the track it costs to much I have to wear a helmet I cant roll race etc etc.
Tracks are a great idea but with all the regulations and costs and the fact that not every community has a track just sitting around makes it difficult and sometimes prohibitive for many enthusiasts to go to the track. From what I saw 99% were being pretty careful dare I say responable with thier burnouts and fly bys just out having fun. Unfortunately it only takes one person to take it too far or misjudge something for it all to go bad. Condolences to all involved. And just remember all of us who have a passion for our cars have all done a burnout or other act to show off or have fun.
not really dumb parents cause they are on the sidewalk but yes, luckily it's not them that was the victim. R.I.P to the people and the Camaro driver gives the community a shame.
The bystanders may be dumber than the drivers!! Let’s stand right next to a bunch of amateur drivers going 150 mph? that may also be intoxicated as well!! 🤦♂️
@@ckelly9747 At least Rally car drivers are actually trained professionals driving super maneuverable AWD machines that costs close to $1 million dollars and not muscle cars with bad handling.
@@ckelly9747 but rally cars are actually real racing, the people are not on drugs, and even better the cars aren't stolen. , There's not even a comparison
True, maybe I shouldn’t have been so close to the streets, I wasI just trying to get my footage 😅. I kept switching my position from one side of the street to the other, trying to get away from the “flying cars”, that’s why you heard my say “WTH?!” at 7:39 towards the end of the video...it started to get a little irritating, but I cut it short after that & left. I heard about the accident almost an hour after I got home.
Check the 6:45 mark, literally a kid and baby few feet from the road. Stupid ass parenting My condolences to the lives lost by someone’s terrible actions
We used to go out in the country in the middle of the night, we would race each other, 2 at a time, away from the crowd, no "fly byes" had miles in each direction to see cars comming. Nothing good is going to happen with This right here...
@@Dogsport1 Or Ella Blvd before the tollway. Meets are definitely not the same as 30 years ago. Though, back in 88 we did have that one guy flip over @Rankin. But he was the only one involved, thank God. I remember that night. I had just left, heading to Ella and heard about it.
Making a lot of noise and smoke leaving a car meet is one thing , but the speed these guys were doing with all those people and kids standing so close is just insane ,
When i was attending street races back in the day, people didn't do this stupid sheet. Seriously what the heck do you expect when just about everyone with a car there thinks they're a professional drifter or drag racer.
I'm 14 and I can say it's just the friends groups kids of my generation hang out with. I personally never really had friends but that allowed me to have a mindset of my own (if that makes sense) and I have always went to car meets with older guys (30's and up) so all of that has matured me to the point where I know that when I get behind a wheel showing off isn't going to get me nowhere. But for the guys/girls that do speed, perform takeovers, rev their engines to an annoying amount they just want attention and being loud and doing crazy things is the easiest way. That's why car meets are like that nowadays from my perspective.
That wasn't an underground race that was a meet with shenanigans at the end. And for the most part it looked pretty well controlled with decent spacing of the cars. I feel the Camaro jumped timing or something or just lost control of the car
The only thing that driving of that yellow Chevy Camaro will be driving is a push mower in prison for the rest of his life RIP to the one that passed due to the dummy driver
A total of three people died due to the actions of the Camaro driver: One person at the scene, and two brothers ages 14 and 16 who were just walking by on their way to their grandmother’s home. The 14 and 16year olds were Life Flighted from the scene, and succumbed to there injuries around February 23, 2021. All of this information is from another RU-vid video about this accident in which an interview with the Chief District Attorney for Harris County in Houston, TX.
Damn man, sorry for these losses you & your family having to endure. 😔 Even tho they had a passion for this just like I do & everybody else who was there, they shouldn’t have had to loose their lives behind it. R.I.P. Young Kings 🙏🏽
I was on the way home from a call out to work 30 minutes before that happened. I go to car meets a fair amount in Houston and had a few friends there that night. As I was passing by the meet (I was exhausted and didn't feel like going), I remember saying that I hope everyone stays safe. RIP.
@@IrishAmerican17 Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Its always easier to say I'm sorry AFTER you fuck up, than it is to be responsible and let down your friends.
Most of these drivers on the road wit licenses prob not even pose to be driving at night, driver must be blind cuz how can’t u see a car wit they headlights on clearly right in da road. I understand it’s dark but that car has their headlights on and that area was lighted up too, he had to be distracted
Damn that's crazy. RIP. Crazy to think I used to be out there having fun like y'all. Once I had kids and got closer to my 30s I stepped away. It gets wild.
..........what is this proving , to do such evil in our curpted generation of doomed young men.......who think that is is acceptable in our society? A society that is headed too.........defeat and destruction........ into the oblivion of DOOM!!!!!
This was some awesome footage. The outcome was very tragic. It looks like too that were a few instances that a couple of other cars could have lost control also. You did a great job of putting all your clips together. There is one more clip out there (and on YT) that the impact of the two cars is VERY loud. I love race cars and the sound of loud motors, but I hate that a mom lost 2 sons, and another mom last a son that was only in town for the weekend. Thank you again for sharing this.
Thank you 🙏 for the feedback on my video, it really does take a little work to edit & put everything together...but yeah this is a very sad situation for the families who lost their loved ones as a result of this. I love events like this, but hope to never see anything like this happen again.☹️
CarMeetz are good standing still, for all to enjoy! Fast Moving Machines on City Streets, Not fun when lives are lost, to fast fun! It's a bad look for the culture... Although it's always hard to tame young adrenaline and octane on any night in any city!!! We have to Do better!
love car meets, love the shenanigans, love the madness, love and live the culture..but those fly bys must be banned and are completely unnecessary, r.i.p. to those who perished
When people thought just the Yellow Camaro driver was an idiot and then see this footage and say damn , so many other ones could have killed people too . I dont think there is a way to fix this stuff , there are people everywhere who think they need to show how cool they are and it sometimes goes all wrong like this .
Sadly most people aren't as smart or caring as you. Young men think they're invincible and end up killing themselves or others doing stupid shit that isn't even particularly cool and definitely not useful.
I remember back in the early 2000s when we would street race in Baltimore. Every time we would take it out to the bus loop on 70 and do our races there away from the crowds. Otherwise, people were chill in the parking lots. I would love to still go to car meets, but this is an example of what not to do.
I saw a young man out there with his Baby in a carriage! The noise factor alone could affect that Baby's hearing, but that Baby could have been cleaned out with the rest of those on lookers! Who brings a Baby out to something like that?
This is what happens when anyone can afford a fast car with credit. 🤷♂️🤦♂️ I grew up in the late 80's to now. I stopped going to shows in the early 2000's, just no respect for anything more. I mean don't get me wrong, we use to do burnouts, but that's about it. We would go somewhere else and race, the show was for the meet to set up the races. And a side note, a lot of these clowns with cameras are giving them the attention, (not this channel) but the type that run like little school girls to hear a pop or a bang or screeching tire. Smh sad
The car was deliberately driving at a very high rate of speed past people who deliberately stood in the road to get a close-up view of cars fishtailing past them at very high rates of speed. Who would have ever predicted anybody could get hurt?
I looked back at the video and the first pass you can see best that the Impala was not stopped but was in the right lane and moved into the center lane. At no time did it have its brake lights on. It just looked like it wasn’t moving relative to how fast the Camaro was moving. You can see how bright brakes lights look that night when one of the cars on the highway puts on the brake lights.
Weird shit lines up and it just proves fate. Right wtf was that car even doing.. Everything that happens is meant to, and whats meant to happen, happens
When I was in my 20's I used to drive fast. By the time I turned 30 I had better sense! Thank God that I never was involved in any crashes, nor injured anyone!
Went on for more than an hour, how was there no police involvement sooner, no one called lol at the least everyone is loitering right and or noise complaints, love the cars but don’t believe this
The average LEO is not equipped, trained or has the sheer numbers to handle little more than a Saturday night bar fight. Ask yourself this: How many of these "racers" will see ANY jail time? Little will be done about street takeovers until it fundamentally hurts the participants, and even then it might be enough.
This is exactly how not drive and what not to do. I have a 2016 Camaro and she’s bright red and black interior. She’s a real beauty. I know her V6 power and while she is very quick I refuse to put my baby or any one in danger. Poor people that died may they Rest In Peace.
Rip 🪦 to car meets and to the kids that lost there lives and the young man. All it takes is one idiot trying to out do the other. But side note video is dopest so far.
Yeah dawg it’s definitely gonna change some shit when it comes to car meets...& you can forget about TX2K!!! But preciatcha bro, glad I put in work on this & made it happen 🤘🏽
Yeah, I don't think illegal Street racing side show crap will ever end. Always some idiot willing to break the law with no concern for the consequences. I used to respond to wrecks all the time just North of the Beltway off 45. That was back in 94/95, Lots of people hurt/dead then as well. Stupidity and the people who encourage it will always find a way.
This happened in Georgia yrs ago. Horrible lost of life. But this is what we do. I lost my yr bro on a zx1400 He was doing over 145 at impact. God Speed everyone
I remember years ago when I was doing this stuff. I can tell you it's exciting and an addictive atmosphere, all up to that point it all crashes down. It's not worth it. Unfortunately, most don't realize it until they are involved in a night where someone is lost. If you want to meet up go ahead. If you have to race, find a track and do it right. But this is just playing with lives, and not just the participants.
My question is why was this allowed to go on so long. An hr later? Is that department so short handed that an obviously high traffic area doesn’t have officers patrolling the area?
Well Houston car meets are done. They only showed the end on the news, it's good to have context of what happened before the accident. Looks like others where doing similar antics but not as fast as the camaro
He wasn’t alone as far as “fly-bys” at all...it was other cars doing them left & right all night, & it was actually a couple of other close calls before that last wreck happened. I consider them all lucky to be honest, because it could’ve been any one of them...but yeah ole dude in the Camaro was just going to fast to really control it, even if he would’ve swerved to miss the Malibu, I think he still would’ve over corrected, & lost control & probably flipped the car, after slamming into that wall.
I wish we can have events like Race Wars in the Hollywood movie the Fast and the Furious. Imagine a huge air field where all car enthusiasts can just have fun enjoy our addiction for speed and party through the night. And when we do have car meets we kept it absolutely safe where no lives where lost. Just tragic what happens just so tragic
He said he was doing the fly by before hand. He impacted at 126 mph. Hit the 2 cars and a pedestrian. I'm a driver and I've been trying to get to a meet up. At least in Cali there are a few rules to follow. I guess this is why where we do the ones here in Ctx there is no reeving,no tire spinning,etc...
Usually or at a lot of these events they specify that no revving, burnouts, etc. is allowed...but at this event it wasn’t specified, & I guess since they had a few off duty officers present, I’m assuming they figured that none of that would go on. Well if that was the case, then they were COMPLETELY wrong.
That camaro wasn’t the only one doing fly by’s. They need to shut these stupid meets completely. Car meets should be held at the track or take it to a desert where no innocent by standers will get injured.
Exactly the people saying they were there made it sound like only the yellow camaro driver did the fly by. Seeing this now I see multiple cars doing them.
@@arsevela33 True but at least in the dessert, no innocent bystander will be involved. It’s sucks because although nobody expects such tragedies to happen, there is idiots out here who commit such acts. I love cars but I stay away from foolishness. Proper Car shows and going to the track is sufficient for me
It used to be that if you want a lot of HP you gotta build it. Now you go to any dealership and walk out the door with a 700hp car. Even the 4 cylinder eco boost mustang make's over 300hp. And parents are buying those for their kids. I think If you want to buy a car over 400hp you need to go through a course that teaches you how to handle that much power. I drive a 350hp Mazdaspeed 3 and the torque steer scares the shit out of me.
I can totally understand why this is a thing. It's cool. But you bet your ass I wouldnt be standing so close to all that without a legit object to offer protection!
I saw dozens of cars doing high speed fly bys . It could have been any of those cars. It only takes one car pulling out and one car doing a 100mph to wipe out 20 people. They are all risking their lives. I am all for the rush of speed but that whole thing looked like a tragedy waiting to happen. RIP
This belongs at the track, not on the public streets and roadways where responsible drivers obey the rules of the road. Sorry for the deceased and their families, and hopefully the witnesses to this avoidable tragedy have learned something from this.
There were idiots in the road on foot, blocking a whole lane, so he had no choice but to hit a car that was on the road after it passed, and sent it flying and spinning across the street. People in the road can be used somewhat to his defense, but it won't change much. He done, career ended. Would like to slap the randoms standing in the damn road. There are other videos with different angles. To the randoms standing in the road, you will get yours, I know your reading this.
