I love this source tape. SCCA buddy of mine sent me the raw footage somebody sent him of his own race during the SCCA Runoffs in 1991. When he posted up some of it at his own channel, it didn't get much traction. I work in TV, and was immediately stoked. He's sent me the original tape.
It's much more difficult for a small production company to produce a "highlight package" than it is for a bigger media company to do so. Without being able to switch back and forth from one camera to another in the control room, you have to record everything that the cameras see..and then spend all your time watching the footage from every viewpoint. And then, decide what you will use, and what will be discarded. It is a daunting task, and one that is not often done by someone who cares about our sport. That's why you see more crashes than passes in so much of the stuff.
This one is actually the same race, eight times..but from eight different points of view. Raw footage, and it's really pretty good.

Y'all who don't work in TV should know..the "finished product" from this hour and a half of video is at • 1991 SCCA National Ama...
It runs for two minutes and 37 seconds. Yeah, it's like that.
