I used a heat gun and stretched a 3/4 slip fit with 1/2" female threads on the other side... a 1/2" gland nut threads right in to seal the wires! PVC gets soft at low temps so you could use boiling water or a hair dryer.
Did you haveto lower your lifting ropes on the shaft to get better leverage on lifting it? It looks like it may be a little to high of a angle to easily pull it.
Good video sahowing the Wilderness Moto Mount. I am actually thinking of ordering one for my Perception Outlaw 11.5. Just wondering How well as the Big Flat Washers worked out. Are they large enough to do the job? I was thinking of sandwiching cutting board on the underside with flat washers on that to spread the load out a little more. I rather go over Kill then to take a chance or cracking my yak.
Those washers worked great, they were 2.25" diameter, no way it will crack but there is certainly more than one way to do it... cutting board would be great too and you will probably need a chunk to double up on the clamp surface.
