Environment test built in Unity5. Experimenting with complex terrain, PBR lighting and cloud animations for use in upcoming projects. Lighting and landscape detail were inspired by recent hikes in Scotland and Wales. About 30 hours including edit.

Do you use a heightmap or did you build up the terrain using the Unity tools? The textures, grass and trees look really natural too - did you make them yourself, or did you download them?

Hi Bujin. This is a mix of all the things you mentioned. The terrain is a mix of heightmap data with some modified terrain meshes from the Unity Adam demo I think. The trees are speedtree with my own leaves and a custom shader. Some of the pinetrees are my own models. The grass and flowers are a mix of my own photoscans and a photoscan pack I purchased. The ground textures are made with my own photos. I tend to use nature manufacturers greenery now though. It's pricey but it's currently the most realistic on Unity and it can be modified too.

Thank you for the request Calwo. I love Harlech Castle and it is definitely on my to do list. :) I am part way through a large project at the moment so it may be a few months before I can start a new Castle.
