Life is temporary, but legacy can last forever. Wilko, you'll be remembered. Cheers for the memories, not least of all for the dignity and positivity you've shown. xx
Who the hell disliked this? This is his life... I am really inspired about him facing his mortality so bravely but so openly. What a great guy! A a great musician!
What an incredible and deeply genuine spirit. To hear death spoken about with such light and energy is fantastic. No fear, just wonder at the world and the life he has lived.
Saw Wilko Johnson perform in Narberth Queens Hall last July 2012. It's down in Wales for those that do not know. Really had doubts about going but he played a fantastic concert and though I'll never see another one this will hopefully remain in my brain for a long time to come. Lost my own Mum to cancer in March 2012 so I really do hate this horrible disease
This is so hard to watch but you learn a lot about life from it. To be free of any worries about the future, to know what is going to happen and to be given time to end things in a way you want to is in a way a good thing. Total respect for Wilko, God bless him.
A true, honest to god legend. Wilko represents everything that music lacks today. Honesty, commitment, soul. What a hero. Will be a very dark day when he passes
Dude was rocking crowds when my dad was a cracking on and I'm 30! I've been lucky enough to see some of his farewell tour. He's such a real bloke and a proper unique artist, the music is timeless. His energy boundless. Such a good lad. No-one is gonna forget this geezer, A Legend in the true sense of the word
I was fortunate enough to speak to this great man and shake his hand a couple of years ago before a gig at the Robin2 in Bilston. Wonderful person and a fabulous musician. All the best Wilko x
Wilko johnson, rock and roll legend, you will never be forgotten, one of the bravest and most honest men around, long may your music rock everyones socks off forever. Thanks for everything Wilko :)
god ime glad ive seen this. i suffer with depression but this guy has just put me to shame. what an attitude to take. i could listen to him talk all day. good on you wilko.
Who could not like Wilko Johnson , Seems to me if i acchieved even half the things he has in his life then i would still be a happy man. The days of Dr Feelgood , Wilko and Lee Brilleaux were truly iconic times and the start of something that really kick started Punk music in my eyes! I hope he stays well for as long as possible, such a nice guy!!
Rock and blues along with his guitar has given this great real man an insight into life very few ever see. I'll keep a bit of Wilko with me always, no matter where he ends up Wilko will always be rocking. Cheers from the Highlands.

What an interview and an inspiration to everyone, very sad but the best thing I've seen on the news, he blew the presenters away. Seen him three times ,I will be missing that.
Amazing inspirational man! You don't need religion to face death with such a positive attitude, just an amazing positive outlook that Wilko has. I hope when my time comes - if I know about it - I can muster the same fortitude! WILKO you are an awesome guy! I don't normally have 'heroes' but you are one for me!
wilko you are great been a fan for years, the best rhythm guitar player in the world, such a brave man,i wish you all the best and believe it or not im known to certain people as wilko, its a nickname due to my being a guitarist also, high praise indeed
If was either of those 2 presenters.........i'd of just give him a cuddle for the shear fact of being a truly wonderful person.............and possible one of the worlds best guitar players x
yeah big thanks for the upload as we cant get the bbc in Australia...Wilko is just the best..I have also been able to share a little bit of life with Wilko and his family memories treasured for always..xxx
1. in the moment - enjoying the moment. In the west we seem to always look to the future but in the east they enjoy the moment. 2. Many years ago my mother was dying of cancer and we always enjoyed the moment as we knew she was on limited time. Later, and now years later I still look to the future. Wilco is right is stating we should enjoy the moment.
The cool thing is that a Wilko fan who was a photographer AND a surgeon made an interesting connection and got the cancer rediagnosed ... surgery was performed and he's clear now! :)
gods speed wilco ,you will never be forgotten while i,m still here in this world. I hope to hear you play in the next.. say hello to LEE for me please. Great music
Sad because he was to receive a very important role in upcoming seasons for Game of Thrones as Ilyn Payne. No one and I mean NO ONE can replace him because of this aura he has about him. Breaks my heart....
What a wonderful way too take it. Although the man is 65. I don't think it'd be quite the same for someone under 50. Either way it's a reminder that life is finite and each day is a gift full of possibilities. Sadly the way of life and humans is to get into a routine and take alot for granted. It's one thing to know that life has an end, but another thing to feel it in your core and understand it deeply. Most of us don't. I don't but I wish I could.
Listening to him reminds me of the end of American Beauty when the character says he felt nothing but 'gratitude for every moment in his stupid little life'. While we're alive we categorise everything into good experiences and bad experiences. On your deathbed as you breath your last breath it must all seem so inconsequential. Even the bad has value for shaping our views and making us who we are.
