Attorney Megan Pastrana delves into the implications of undergoing gender transition during the U.S. immigration process in this essential guide. At Immigration for Couples, we recognize the unique challenges faced by individuals transitioning during their immigration journey. The good news? U.S. immigration laws support your right to update your gender marker to reflect your true identity, even if your country of origin does not recognize the transition. This video explains how you can choose the gender marker that aligns with who you are, without the need to provide documentation of surgery, following recent updates to USCIS policies.
We also explore the addition of a third gender marker 'X' for naturalization applications, reflecting ongoing advancements in immigration policy inclusivity.
