I'm booked in tomorrow afternoon to have a second IUD put in, my first was copper and i had it for five years. Your videos have honestly helped my immensely when making the decision to a) get another inserted, and b) to make the shift to the Merina over the copper due to menstrual cramping and random bleeding. I was so very skeptical about adding additional hormones to my body, but your information has been a godsend and really cleared things up for me. Thank you

There's so many people saying they can't conceive or carry a pregnancy to full term after removing the IUD. It's really worrying me. I got it early this year but want to have kids in the future

Got my iud today! It is Liberte ut 380 standard, it can use up to 5 years. The cramps are not super bad and the whole thing done less than 5 mins. I done it at a local women health clinic in Canada, it’s free! Thanks Canada. The pain I would say like 4/10 it just like a heavy cramps as the usual cramps.

Can you possibly do a video on copper IUD's and the toxicity issue? (I know you cant get copper toxcicity from copper IUDs but some women are so sure theres enough copper on them to almost rewrite DNA 🙄) thank you!!

Good thought Tanya. I know there is lots of talk online about this alleged issue (I have seen no scientific evidence to validate these claims). It is a very sensitive subject to some of these patients who are absolutely convinced that their symptoms are due to their IUD. For now, I have video #29 which talks about how to interpret online IUD “reviews”, and discusses the criteria that are necessary to establish causation (ie, to prove that one thing causes another...) -Dr. Dervaitis

One question: what supplements is suggested for people who have an IUD? Zinc?

Hi- This is a more complex topic and depends very much on the individual (and the exact location of the fibroids). I’d recommend that you discuss this further with your doctor. -Dr. Dervaitis

My mirina iud was expelled after 3 weeks of insertion. Now I want to give it another go. Is there anything you would recommend that would prevent this from happening again? I've heard if it is expelled once the chance of it happening again is higher..

Hi Doctor，after the Merina IUD insert for two weeks，I took the 2nd HPV vaccine shot in my second days period，The period became more days，more bleeding and more blood blocks. is it caused by the IUD？HPV vaccine？is it normal？any action do I need to take？Thank you

The HPV vaccine has no impact on menstruated bleeding. In the first 4-6 weeks after an IUD insert, there can be some “adjustment phase” bleeding- please see video #7 for more information. -Dr. Dervaitis

Can I use my kegel balls after 24 hrs of my iud insertion? When I pull the ball out, I feel vacuum in my vagina, will it pull my iud out?

It is not likely to interfere with the IUD. I just want to take this opportunity to clarify: “kegel balls” for pelvic floor strengthening is different than yoni balls or jade eggs (there is absolutely no evidence for these other products, and I do not support their use). -Dr. Dervaitis

My mirena(levonorgestrel) was inserted almost 11months ago .. Bleeding was almost stopped.. Today again i had bleeding and clotting .. Why is this happening mam what shall i do now if there's more bleeding and clotting?
