Great insight, dude. 17 years as a pro driver, and about to buy my first truck and get my own authority, after 3 years as a lease Operator for a small company. It's the next logical step of a plan I devised in my 12 years driving overnight for FedEx. It's always great to get insight from someone who is actually doing what you are a about to do. I appreciate you very much. Good luck with all of your ventures.
Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences and passing on this knowledge. I’m a rookie in this industry and need all the help I can get . I’m a company driver getting experience for now . I’m still feeling my way around this industry but I’m certain that the money is in owning/having your own authority. Thanks again man !!

It's rough out here for dispatchers too. Most companies paying $. 30-$.65cpm. I've offered double and even 5200-8k a load and some carriers get greedy. It takes a lot of patience and a great mentor to be successful in the business. Thanks Rich for your transparency and realness.
Damn, man. Lots of useful information on your channel. Definitely like and subscribe. Thinking of getting my own authority next year. Doing lots of research currently. Your channel has really good stuff, I must say. Thank you for sharing such a valuable information.

I wish I would have listed to my pops (rip) years ago..he had his authority, my brothers drove under his..I wasn't at this spot in life back then..God knows I probably didn't need to be in the game back then..#iwasaknucklehead
I worked with coyote a lot when they first started up in Chattanooga hauling produce out of philly to Atlanta they blew up since then but to date they are the only broker I’ve ever worked with that treated me right 100% no complaints whatsoever. CH Robinson is great to work with and like everybody else said tql is shit. Just complete shit.

Hey man! I’ve been looking at yo vids lately n i gotta appreciate your help with all that information you pass. Good job bro! Subscribed!! . I’m lookin at buying my own truck. 2015 Freightliner cascadia from selectrucks toronto. I wanna know if you can tip me out at things i should look at before buying this Freightliner. It got DD15 motor, DT12 auto transmission, 455hp, 435k miles. They say it comes with brand new REMAN DPF. Idk man i need yur help. Sounds bit fishy or nah idk I’m comfused.
Me personally I do not like the new models because of the DPF system. From what I heard there a headache. My truck is a 2010 I do have the EGR but personally it has not been a problem for me. My opinion don’t get the new were models stick with 2007-2010 to to avoid the DPF. Cummins motor or Detroit
As a former broker (ex wife got the company) we would only deal with carriers that had 1 year and an excellent CSA score. And yes... brokers take a large chunk of the freight money. We’d have customers paying over $4 per mile and get trucks to move it for far less.

It's like the dope game you kick them a freebie a sample let them get a little cut and get that relationship going. I bet that $200 was peanuts compared to the business you may get in the future from that particular broker.
I've been thinking about getting into being a freight dispatcher I'm really scared going into it because I know I want to work with independent owner operators however I feel like I should ask will they give me a hard time for being a new dispatcher in the industry, and what do you guys look for..what would make me stand out when networking also
hello One Rich.. i love your videos. i am a experience driver out of houston, tx and wants to put my on truck. but have no enough info what i need before buying rig and what is after that like how to get license plate and othe paperworks. and also i don't want to spend more than 25k on truck. pls suggest. God bless you
Hey bro, question for you, I see your in Florida with your own authority. I’m trying to do the same thing but I need some advice on insurance in Florida or should I start the company in a different state? Thanks bro
I’m really liking what I’m hearing. Brilliant move negotiating that load and throwing an extra 200 bucks back at that broker. Result: established relationship with a good broker.
@ one rich hi rich do i just call those brokers you named? Im new with my authority actually still waitting for mc # to clear which should take a couple weeks. I have a 2014 kenworth but no trailer. What should be my approach.
Hey there great info here ! I am looking into buying my own truck sometime next year and getting my own authority. How would you say things are as of today? Would you says it’s worth it? I know some people complaining right now about rates being very bad
Dominican Ronindez basically you have a truck and you put it with a company. Now your leased on to that company. Normally not forced dispatch and they will pay you anywhere from 75-95% of the load give or take
On a side note, my company works with CH Robinson is shit. We work with all three of those brokers and they are the worst. We always have issues with paperwork with them. Coyote is good. They are owned by UPS.
Thanks for your videos man, hey do you think is best to start with just a truck or with a truck and trailer (and in your opinion what trailer is best/ keep you most busy now days) ??
igor diniz best to have both getting PO loads can be hard in certain areas so a Trk&Trl will give you the best opportunity to keep your truck moving you can lease trailers but do your research and shop around so it’s not a big expense added
chizee 3 nah... it clears out a little every winter from these people buying new trucks in the summer then realizing they screwed up by doing so when freight rates drop. Then they sell their trucks and hate the Trucking Industry because of their stupidity
factory pay quick with few day, broker if wait long. If need good Dispatch help fint d load , have few shipper that work with new authority like once Rick talk about and few more got fill out carrier profile at www.asaptruckdispatch do my best get the high paying rate ,my few is less low. I know you have business to run.
I've ran several of the CH Robinson loads. Sure, they may call you a couple of times A-day, but like the dude said, you are a new authority, so you have to take what you can get. But it's certainly not the end of the world.
@@onerich8876 Be a LTL driver. Who the hell wants to be OTR? Not me. As a LTL driver, I get home every night, off weekends and holidays. I get vacation pay, health insurance, and 401K.
Guys NEVER BOOK A LOAD WITH TQL (TOTAL QUALITY LOGISTICS ) these people suck they dont respect you and they dont pay they want you to work for free with the rate they want to give you
