10+ assists in the WNBA is extremely hard to do especially since every player is extremely skilled offensively and defensively compared to college and the teams have more balance. Look, pros are a step up. Fine. No argument there. In Clarks case it'll be a step -up in teammates too. Not to disparage the iowa girls. They were amazing and had a great 2 years. But that game against SC showed a real gap in terms of size and athleticsm. I think the fact that Clark won't have to carry Indiana on her own so often will eventually benefit her and indiana. Her game is absolutely translatable. She only took as many shots as she did for iowa because she was their best shooter and had the skill to create space for herself with and without the ball. The claim in your first statement is an absolute lie and shows recency bias. For one, I have seen generally positive support for Clark due to not only her records due to play, but also the attention she’s brought to women’s basketball. The criticisms come with being great and yes, while she’s an incredible player, she does still have to prove herself. It comes with the territory. If anything, as SAS put it, her proving herself further in the pros will only greatly enhance her legacy. Lastly, whether anyone likes it or not, Lebron James is the greatest scrutinized athlete. Before anyone accuses me of it, no , I’m not his biggest fan by any means, however, I greatly remember him being deemed as ‘The Chosen One’ and having to live up to the expectation of matching MJ BEFORE he even went to the league in his senior year of HS. To add, Lebron James is the first superstar/legend in the four major league sports to experience extra scrutiny via SM. That’s added on pressure that none of the superstars/legends of 90s and prior could ever say they experienced coming into the league. But just like LBJ, I hope and expect that she will live up to her reputation and continue to bring attention to women’s basketball and make her mark as one of the greats/legends in the pros.

The two hardest skills that Clark will need to work on: Ball handling and physicality. She's a flashy dribbler but has some trouble being the primary ballhandler in half court sets. Caitlin will be WNBA Rookie Of The Year, and the Indiana Fever will make the playoffs. Here's why i think that: They won 5 games 2 years ago, then drafted Aliyah Boston 1st overall. Aliyah Boston balled out and won WNBA ROTY, but it was clear she needs help. Aliyah led them to almost triple the amount of wins they had the year before she arrived. Adding Caitlin Clark to that team will make it so teams can't double and triple Aliyah. They can't double Caitlin because of Aliyah, and they can't double Aliyah because of Caitlin. Caitlin will elevate her teammates the way she did at Iowa, but they will be better than anything she's ever had at Iowa because they are more skilled. She will continue to shoot from the moon in the WNBA and will be top 10 in points, and top 5 in assist as a rookie.

The thing about Clark is she usually goes off in bursts - she has to find her shot before she starts torching the other team. She'll be playing fewer minutes on fewer shots against tougher defenses and with opponents and teammates alike who will most likely have it out for her. She probably won't have the green light like she did in college, so it might be harder to find her rhythm some nights. Not to mention most NBA guards who's playstyle she mirrors (Dame, Trae, Steph) had some growing pains when first entering the league. I think she'll be much the same, but in the long run she'll be fine. I got her at 14, 5, 6 on 41% FG 34% 3PT for year 1.
