Is China taking the lead in saving our planet from environmental catastrophe? Many signs point to yes. China, the world's largest carbon emitter, is leading a global clean energy revolution, leading the development of a global system of green finance, dominating the global production and implementation of solar, wind, electric vehicles, and batteries. China's leaders understand that transforming the world's second largest economy from one dependent on highly polluting heavy industry to one focused on clean energy, services and innovation is essential, not only to the future of the planet, but to China's own prosperity.
Robert Youngberg gives an overview of China’s CO2 coal production, CO2 emissions, global dominance of solar PV, wind systems, electric vehicles, batteries, raw material resourcing, manufacturing, in-country implementation, and global exports.
Robert has over 15 years working with China in clean energy transition, including many delegate trips to China, visiting solar PV and wind system manufacturing plants, and presenting at various conferences in China. At the invitation from the Energy Foundation China, he recently presented at the China Pavilion at the UNFCCC 2023 Conference of Parties in Dubai.
