Will Dragon Ball Sparking Zero Propel the Budokai Tenkaichi Series to new Heights? 

I have faith that Sparking Zero will have not only a very huge roster like how the original Tenkaichi trilogy did, but also all the proper mechanics to make it be a true return to form for not just Dragon Ball games in general… but for the entire anime game genre as a whole!!

I couldn’t agree more! Fingers crossed that Sparking Zero’s the true sequel to Budokai Tenkaichi 3 that the fans deserve after waiting for over a decade!

What are your thoughts on how the game might look once it’s either close to release or shortly after? I hope that Sparking Zero is the absolute best it can possibly be and feels like a faithful sequel to Budokai Tenkaichi 3!

@Azure4Shore Right now the game looks great as it is but I'm 99% sure they're at the end of the development cycle with the amount of gameplay they're releasing now. Once it releases I think the lighting and shading will be enhanced. The camera will move smoother or have a sharpness to it in either degree so when moving it's not so jolty. Only thing I can see really needs improvement and it's really just the same gripes everyone else has. The beams need to be a bit thicker. The characters are already slimmed down in their God forms. We don't want super skinny beams along with this skinny person when we're used to body engulfing attacks. I think they're probably in the stage now where they're refining everything and just polishing and getting ready for release and maybe a cinematic cut out of what the story will be. Plus u gotta think...if they give us AT LEAST what bt3 did story wise with the what ifs and the movies...we're already in heaven. Updated moves hopefully and better choreography for the fights. Hopefully the option to change your fighting style or hopefully they've just added some extra kicks and punches and didn't directly take everything from the old games. This is supposed to be a continuation, not a remake. So let's hope they continue in the fighting aspects of one of our favorite fighting games💪🏿🤷🏿‍♂️

Adding in a Custom Character feature like from the Xenoverse titles would make for a lot of interesting possibilities for sure! Fingers crossed Sparking Zero is one of if not the greatest game that will lead to a new set of Tenkaichi style sequels that build off Sparking Zero’s features and gameplay mechanics. Time will tell!!

As Dragon Ball fans, we bring the HYPE!!

A brand new Budokai style game would be epic! While Infinite World and Burst Limit were two extremely fun titles I’d love for the original Budokai series to get a proper fourth entry that covers original Dragon Ball all the way up through the end of Dragon Ball Super. If fans can get Tenkaichi 4 green-lit, who says a Budokai 4 isn’t impossible?!

Despite how dated the original Tenkaichi trilogy is now, it will forever hold a special place for me as that series introduced me to other Anime arena fighters since then. Graphics aside it’s still one of the most solid series when it comes to Dragon Ball video games that are still fun to play!!

The ability to deflect ki based attacks was one of the neat features from the Raging Blast games. Hopefully Sparking Zero will have it implemented in some way that works and doesn’t slow the speed of combat down!

One mechanic I’m hoping returns is the different ways to block attacks such as either the four-directional guard from Tenkaichi 2 or the low, medium, high guard from Tenkaichi 3! If either kind make a comeback… I’ll definitely be one happy camper then as I’ll be able to dance around my foes with not only the majestic golden super saiyan aura but that infamous swagger that comes with it!! 😝💭

Personally while I have played both Xenoverse games, neither really resonated with me like the original Budokai and Tenkaichi titles did. It felt like a bad attempt to recreate that style of gameplay and I’ll gladly take the older titles or something more complex like Burst Limit or FighterZ if we’re talking more recently. I hope Sparking Zero hits all the right notes!

@@Azure4Shore How would it... its not following any accurate characteristics from the show. Budokai/Tenkaichi series had authentic cartoony look with pretty accurate animations of the Show especially for the 2005/2007 era. Xenoverse is a cheap cardboard box cut of the original show with Oil Covered Characters and Rushed Clunky Animations. You could feel.. it was made with low budget / low effort... none of the attacks have any impact / weight to it. And its supposed to be a Dragon Ball Z/GT game from 2017 onwards
