It's amazing how well George can get them to open up, His interviews always seem to be so much deeper than any other ones you can find. Will's reaction to his dad's album is so genuine.
Logan Macneil I actually got to meet the guy once. It's insane how down to earth he is. It's kinda rare to see media personalities be themselves. Very genuine guy.
Strombo gets all his guests on a level where they feel comfortable talking to him like a friend or a family member if not on a even higher level than that, No one else can get these reactions out of the guests like he dose and you can even hear most if not all the guests say "Wow what a great question" or even make's the guest want to give a great answer's to a great question. Great job!!!!!! STROMBO FOR MAYOR!!!!!!
FarzadADI Clearly...you're an idiot, can't read properly, and don't understand context.. When have I ever said that I like Fallon? Never!! Go back and read my original comment...slowly this time. Sound out each word, let the meaning sink in, then come back and try saying something intelligent.
I like that we got to see more of his serious, real side in this interview. George is one of the best at what he does. (And Will Ferrell too, for that matter.)
I'd just like to say, putting slap stick comedy aside, Will Ferrell's best movie is " Stranger than Fiction " . Its the only role I've ever seen him in, that was Serious. The fact that he can do both types of roles makes him a GREAT Actor. Nice Interview by the way George.
I was about to recommend that one too! :D great movie, I've seen it for the first time in HBO a couple years ago. Veeeeeeery good movie, Will can do drama as well :)
I feel like an ass... I heard this guy's name and for whatever reason just wouldn't watch his interviews.. But this guy is one of the best interviewers I have ever seen. Well researched, well spoken, and inviting. Im definitely not gonna stop watching Strombo!
George remind's me of Brian Linehan a great Canadian interviewer who had real conversations with his guess and he surprise them with questions one else would ask no bullshit that they answered 100 time before he has done his homework and they seemed pleased. r.i.p Brian you have a successor
man it was awesome when he got handed the record and watching the video,I always see will making others laugh and not really getting "time for himself" shall we say (cant think of any other way to put it) but it was awesome seeing how happy he was receiving that record and watching him watch the video! he's a real down to earth guy! got to love ferrell
I feel like it would be fun to hang out with Will Ferrel when he's not being Will Ferrel. He seems like an interesting and actually intelligent fellow.
No, it's just too obvious to say I would hangout with Will Ferrel while he's in character. Everyone would. But behind the comedian seems to be a calm and interesting person.
Do you ever notice Strom leans in more and more in interviews, can't tell if he's nervous about Ferrel's opinion about his own city's mayor, or if he's just leaning in like a good interviewer....making ferrel feel comfy
Why does Will call his mother a single mom (at 12:50) Usually that term is used for a woman whose children has no contact with the father. Wouldn't divorced mother/woman/mom be more appropriate? Stroumboulopoulos doesn't clarify. Just thought it odd since his father was highlighted in the prior segment. Background: Will graduated from Univ. of Southern California, an expensive private school. It is not like there wasn't money coming in - another background for "singe mom" - not much money. Even if Will had a scholarship, it takes income to stay in school.
No. The term is used for a mother raising her children full time. The children don't have to have "no contact" at all with their father. My dad was an every other weekend dad. I was raised by a single mom.
@@bryanmmusic Perhaps that is the correct term as you described, but I assure you that from the perspective of the mom and the child, there is a vast difference between having a father in the picture, if only every other week, and, say, never. In my opinion, again, not saying it is common, 1) a widow or 2) a divorced mom with no father around, or 3) a mom whose husband/man skipped out, can each be called a single mom, with all rights and privileges thereunto appertaining. What you and Will describe is a garden variety divorced mom, not that that is very pleasant for the mom or the child. Oh, yeah. I recall that Will was in a fraternity at USC. Sounds pretty soft to me. There was money coming in from someplace.
He thinks saying things like that will make him feel better about his life. Who comes to watch a video about someone they don't like just so they can leave a mindless reply to every comment? Jim B does.
Will Farrel is the funniest man on earth right now! i mean, Robin Williams is dead (god rests his soul) so Will doesn't have any competition... great guy, easy to approach... i love you will! you rock!!! you never know what's gonna happen when Will is in da house!
This guy is a good interviewer, but why does he have to LEAN so far FORWARD as if he wants to sit on every guests lap! Just sit back into a normal posture!
I have never found Will Ferrell funny. Nothing he has done has made me smile, laugh, or even smirk. I do, however, want to see him do drama. I think I would like him that way.
Considering it's Will who is being interviewed, and he seems fine, answering questions genuinely and such.... I don't think your uncomfortableness matters. You're one of those people who get offended for other people who aren't otherwise offended, arentcha?
Sean Webb It is compared to other formats, I'm just amazed how I've been on different videos of his and it's always "oh he's such a great interviewer". At least when people say that about the evening news anchors, I know that the appearance of the anchors sells them on that but with George, he isn't a square-jawed soldier-clone or authoritative like those guys are.
@@bryanmmusic Dear sir, it always amused me when people consciously chose to concentrate of how you express your thoughts instead of focusing on the validity of your arguments and the logic behind them. I understand such methods. You see, if you had any argument you could use in the first place to support your position, and make a point, any point or that matter, proving yourself right, defeating your opponent.. you would have done so in the first place. No. What you did instead was expressing superficial thoughts, being immature and at the same time rude and provocative. Antisocial even.. Yes, i made a mistake. Obviously you are a Terminator grammar Nazi, with perfect knowledge of the English language, sent from the future by Cyberdyne to correct your RU-vid dialogists, ignoring the logic behind their arguments. Oh, wait. You are not. So.. the next time you try to attack your opponent and desperately i might add, try to be smart.. don't. We all make mistakes, you more that your fair share. At least i am not a hypocrite and i accept my shortcomings, whereas you.. And i shall prove to you why. Be a bit patient! But it is understandable really. This is all you can do.. so i do not blame you! Of course i could mention, say, Rowan Atkinson, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, the Monty Pythons, Billy Connolly, Peter Sellers, Ricky Gervais.. or George Carlin, Richy Pryor, Robin Williams, Eddie Izzard, Rodney Dangerfield.. amongst many, many others to prove my point. Which is that some people watch shitty movies, with childish immature humor, and they are entertained and greatly amused, simply because their intellect is inferior.. Whereas other chose the best of the best. Because they do have a great sense of humor. Oh. And speaking about the proper use of the English language.. When you start a sentence, you use capitals. For example: ''Dude.. blah, blah, blah, immature nonsense, insults for me will always replace a fertile imagination, a creative mind, a logical thinking and a social behavior'', instead of: ''dude.. i do not know how to use proper English either, thus my own words turn against me, while i prove to you that i am a pretentious cocksu!@#$''. Which is a bit ironical, no? Furthermore the correct way of expressing that insult is: ''Your opinion in anything that has anything to do with the correct use of the English LANGUAGE''. Specifics, please, if you are so determined to be precise and right about English. Another irony! Not:"your opinion on anything English is void''. Anything English could be many, many things. This is a considerably general term as well as an invalid argument. Anything English could be, say, dirt. The English weather. The pollution. So, according to you, if i cannot speak proper English.. i must NOT form an opinion about fertile or infertile dirt, or the weather.. You foolishly believe that the proper use of the English language determines if i, say, feel cold or warmth( you cannot possibly be that stupid)the pollution, the rat infestation that plagues the English countryside.. or the stupidity of your arguments. And as the man once said: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6nX8OUXgQ_g.html
Λαυρέντιος Ψαροκάηκας I give you points for naming some of the funniest people ever. But I'll deduct said points for your random rambling. Just because YOU find some things funny doesn't mean those are the "correct" things to find funny, and that all other things must be deemed childish. Funny is subjective. Like art. Stop trying to act "high brow" and better than other people just because they find something funny that you don't. All you're doing is coming across as a blowhard. I also won't be replying to whatever superiority complexed reply you have in store next. So, it'll truly be "good day to you, sir". 🖕
Ferrell was one of the weakest members of the SNL cast yet, strangely, he went on to a very successful movie career. At least he's not revolting though, like Sandler.
the rest of the story - - - - 2 executives at the CBC thought they had the power to make George A STAR! but ... ... problem was - George had NO TALENT - - - so the only thing they could dowas give him an INTERVIEW SHOW (original or what???) and have him be seen NEXT TO CELEBRITIES - - - it was the ONLY WAY TO GET ANY RATINGS and even that didn't work.
ughhh... Ferrell has spent his entire career never getting a natural, in-the-moment laugh. He is great if you need a typecast Man-Child, and you are desperate to reach the Lowest Common Denominator. Nevertheless, if Ferrell is gonna be funny, I'll wait... still waiting... still... well you get the point - if you think he is hilarious, you are tasteless...that's all.
zero49 I'm not sure I fully understand your question. transagender is a man without his penis like eunuch. I am a happily married Christian man. You sounded so angry and hateful toward this heterosexual comedian that I felt that you must be one of those homosexuals that hates Christian heterosexuals.
this is the weirdest show ever... like slimy and weird.... for example; why doesn't he get a bigger chair if he's so small? why does he have shoes of an italian homosexual? was that his goal? but mostly, his questions are like I'm watching a fusion of Jersey shore and Oprah...
