I want to say the world would be a.much better place if all repair persons handled their customer service such as yourself. What great ethics you possess. Keep up the great work.
Every guy thats has ever turned a wrench on anything has probably seen SMA also. Great fix on that pump, probably gonna take awhile to get all the air out.
For several years I watched every one of his videos. I learned a ton and use that knowledge almost every day, but I don’t watch him much anymore. That man can smell green crusties from a mile away.
Great service on your part! Even though you didn’t cause the issue, you stuck through it and was able to ID the true issue and resolved it! Also, I bought a Rhino hitch clamp from Amazon and that resolved all vibration 100%. It’s something to check out because like you, I hate the rattling sound from towing an empty trailer. Always enjoy your videos! Thank you.
It would be easy for the manufacturer to use different size, type fittings for these or color code them.. This is not an unusual thing to happen when it is someone who tries to work on their own stuff. Good Job getting them going.
That was really interesting. Just like you, I always label hydraulic lines, expecting them to be right to start with. That "Equestrian Lodge" or horse trailer as you called it, really threw a curve ball. I think you got it this time. Thanks for all your video work.
Good job Kenny, that's a good one, I ve had similar things happen with trim hydraulics on boats when people replace all the hoses at once and don't put them back in the right places and it will blow o rings and make for a bad day!
I know what you feel like when you find out that you marked it right, only to find out that they were incorrectly installed. I have done that a few times, especially on brake jobs. Hope it works out this time.
Nice catch on the switched hydraulic lines. It would be easy to never figure that out. That sketchy retract sound I believe was just a slug of air. Just before you stopped it seemed to have purged. I’d bet after it’s run full stroke from stop to stop a couple times it will be fine. Be careful with that other channel, you can find yourself going “click”.
Do you think you should take fill plug out and then let the jack down maybe that would push air out of the fill tank and the line as it goes down then put plug back maybe that would help with the jerking ( maybe trapped air) Great video and white board Presentation.
Thanks for getting the tripod. I was getting woozy. :) On the first run it sounded kinda like there was air in the line. I wonder if it got better after running it a few times??
@@hillbillyrv ya I could sort of see on the leg over the years of hauling commercial trailers we used to be able to grease the gear pack under a cover but that may be different 🤔
Sounds like air in the hydro system Ken... anyway to bleed it? Sounded like the rubber seal splitting air back into the tank?? Not sure if my verbage is correct ..
I only have one concern as to how you swapped the lines. It looked like the high pressure line had a different crimp than the other one. By swapping lines on the other end, you would have had less loss of fluid. That way, the high pressure line would remain in the same location on the pump. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Don't you find that strange TWO different vendors if they were installed at the same time. I suspect your not the first to work on the lines.@hillbillyrv
Another Great Video,Kenny. Seems odd to have a pump with two separate relief valves. They must have had a reason for designing it that way. I guess they have to make it safe if someone holds the buttons long after they should have. Have a Good Weekend. Tell your wife I said hello.
