I saw the "roving NG with paintball guns" meme circulating, and also saw one rebuttal to the Covid reasoning. This person said it was during the George Floyd riots, where Walz sent the NG around the city to enforce the curfew. The trouble with that rebuttal is (to me) that the NG was after there had been four or five days of rioting, AND that the NG wasn't in the city center where the rioting was, Walz sent them out into the 'burbs to paintball the residents into their homes. I mean, that's lunatic-moves. Or he simply did it for optics, trying to flex to the residents and meanwhile not risking any kind of confrontation with the looters and burners. Anywho....yeah, still a terrible look.
15:00 the tampon issue doesn’t land the way I would have thought. I agree the hero boyfriend riding in on his white tampon IS disingenuous, but it sufficiently deflects the issue. At least for fence sitters.
