WILL IT RUN? CLASSIC FORD CORSAIR 1700 V4 BARNFIND 

I'm amazed how you can get these cara going. Love the Ford Corsair. My dad drove one in the 1970's reg STG2F. Love hearing these old motors run.

Make sure you save that engine even if the rest is no good,v4s are hard to find now.Great vid,loved watching it.

I put this engine in my ancient slide door ford transit van back in late 1970`s early 80`s , thirsty but relatively powerful . Not an easy cold starter if memory serves me

Last time Lord Lucan was last seen alive was driving one. It belonged to a friend of his. It was found abandoned in a residential road in Newhaven, though Lucan had by then disappeared without trace.

Some money just alone in parts there i bet there's £1500-2k plus pitty the whole car couldn't be saved but the parts will save other barn barn finds that are being fixed up! Good video it reminds me of some of the mk1-2 escorts i saved in 1999-2002 working in a scrap yard happy days 😀

My mate, here in NZ had a nice one with a v6 in it.I understand there was no room for the fan, so couldnt idle too long. NICE machine.Just a wonder they werent produced from the factory with the v6.He traded it in for a hotted up mk 1 cortina.. THAT was a step backwards.The corsair also had the zodiac gearbox & 4 on the floor.

ATF or any other 2% oil , we use Marvel Mystery oil in each cylinder to help free rings and valves . We will also use emery cloth on pints and cap contacts . We will mix some 2 cycle oil with gas and fill the float bowel and only use brake clean or starting fluid in last resort . The 2 cycles oil helps lube top end on first start up .
