Los Angeles Lakers legend James Worthy called LA's blowout loss the worst defeat in franchise history, and with the Purple-and-Gold on the verge of elimination tonight, some have started questioning what an early exit would mean for LeBron’s legacy. The 36-year-old King has famously never lost a first-round playoff series, Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe discuss if LeBron’s pursuit of Michael Jordan could be fading away with first-round loss.

When did LeBron say he was pursuing MJ? LeBron could never play another game of basketball and his legacy is already sealed! Stop it! When I see titles like this it’s a turn off! Leave that man alone and focus on KD. When are we going to start to over analyze his career?

This is a dead argument. Getting swept 2 times by the 86 Celtics(champions) with 5 hof. Then getting swept by the Celtics again in 87 (lost finals) 4 hof. Good news about Jesus Christ! When you first come to him, He completely erases/ forgives your past! You will not be punished for anything bad that you’ve done! Here’s how! (2 Corinthians 5:17)- “If anyone is in Christ, He is a new creation: The old has gone, and the new has come! (Explanation of the Bible verse above): Whenever a person decides to give their life to God, their past no longer counts against them! He erases it completely! And whatever a person did in their past is forgiven and they will NOT be punished for it at all! YES, a clean slate! In Christianity this is what we call the act of Repentance! To stop doing something bad, in order to follow Christ instead! So for example, If a prison inmate decided to turn their and lives around and follow Christ, whatever crimes they committed in the past, are forgiven by God. They will NOT be In trouble for anything that they did in the past! This what Christians mean when they say “reborn” or “born again.” Version 3.0

Shannon: “Lebron is about to get knocked out of the first round for the first time while Jordan got knocked out in the first round his first three years” Ok Shannon, great logic. 1. We are holding a guy who was in his first 3 years to the same standard as a guy who is in the late prime of his career. 2. We going to pretend these Suns compare to the almost 60 win Bucks or Celtics? 3. The Bulls didn’t have 2 of the top 6 all time playoff ppg players on their team. 4. Guess Shannon forgot what MJ did those 3 years in the playoffs. Rookie - 29/6/9 with 2.8 steals per game 2nd year - 44/6/6 with 2.3 steals per game (still standing record for most points in a playoff game with 63 against one of the greatest teams ever) 3rd year - 36/7/6 with 2 steals per game Lebron is currently 22/7/8 with 1.4 steals per game

Interestingly you said legacy. I don’t think lebron has a chance of beating jordan legacy. I don’t think anyone does to be honest. Everything fell into place for Jordan’s legacy. Nike, Gatorade , draft, weak league, all played a huge role into jordan legacy. Just imagine how big any other player would be if they were the face of Nike and Gatorade. It’s so much more. I don’t think anyone can challenge jordan on legacy. But as far as just being more “skilled” I think lebron wins in a landslide. Basketball has become more about achievements than talent. You can argue that’s because we all know jordan as a talent was extremely good but through time all athletes evolve and thus all athletes would eventually be more skilled than jordan, so the narrative changed to how many achievements do you have. I don’t believe that’s a fair argument to people who are extremely talented but didn’t have the team or puzzle pieces fall into place for them. Winning is a team thing which means you can’t individualize it. But how talented you are is. You can individualize who’s more skilled or talented. And that goes to lebron. Nobody can do what he does. But just as I said all players evolve and in 15 years I’m sure we will have someone who passes him also

MJ lost in the 1st round seven years in a row. But his fans will ignore this.

@@duanebroussardtopdogg1292 I 100% agree with your take of personal preference, media just does a good job of creating excitement. I do think that Jordan played a little lower competition if we look at dynasty teams and all times greats as a whole.

Skip has a point when he says Lebron was in the east when it was awful majority of his career

👑 LEBRON won this championship he can become GOAT, if he lost in first round, it does not matter???? Be Fair on both sides.

If Lebron doesn't take the game over from open to close tonight, or at least attempt to, I never want to hear any comparison to MJ ever again. Lebron hasn't even surpassed Kobe in my mind; let alone Jordan.

Watch Shannon's podcast with Jamal Crawford and see how he talks about Michael Jordan. He even said there was a glow around MJ when he first met him, a mythical figure.
