As someone who’s stuck with mc the whole time, seeing it die again would pain me

I doubt that minecraft will ever die again. Its one of the best games to ever be made.

Even if it did, I would still play it, I don’t care, this is my favorite game ever lol

Here's my opinion: First of all, using google or youtube search results to determine if something is dying or not is simply wrong. The game was still selling extremely well and the player base was still raising in numbers. But I won't argue that its popularity definitely wasn't the same, the reason was simply because of the lackluster of good updates after the 1.9 update which as you said was one of the reasons in your video. This is evidence by its popularity raise after the 1.13 Ocean update (not the 1.14 update), so if there's any reason that Minecraft will die "again" it would be because of the lackluster updates or because they stopped updating the game. Also, I think after the release of Hytale it would actually have a mostly positive impact on Minecraft instead of a negative one. That's because booth fanbase are connected and I believe that most people would be playing booth instead of one.

Unless if they release mediocre updates, I don't think it'll die anytime soon.

I remember I stopped playing because my favorite server started having less and less people and then it was just, dead. So I saw no reason to continue playing which sucked

I think that another big reason why it Got revived was that Ph1lza died in his 5 Year old minecraft hardcore world

Thing is, Minecraft never actually died. People just grew up. Lots of parts from the community from years ago, and the older players, left the game as they get bored of it. They were usually the vocal parts of the community. So when they left, the topic of Minecraft wasn't spoken or talked about nearly as much. There was still many, MANY people who played Minecraft. A good amount were still older players, but most were younger. They might've been younger but they're still a part of the community. Minecraft's sales only kept going up. In parts of 2016 is thought to be when the downfall starts but that's the same year Minecraft passed 100M sales. In what was thought to be the "downfall" years you can still see people like DanTDM or PopularMMOS continuing to gain mad views, creators like this mainly appealed to.. well, children. Nostalgia is without a doubt the biggest reason why the "revival" happened. The older players came back, but this time the community was way bigger and a lot of people grew up too, and there were a lot of new people to the community as well. And the updates Mojang gives us now are massive and really good in comparison to years before. I really don't see Minecraft going anywhere. I feel as if the "downfall and revival" of Minecraft is moreso about the older, vocal parts of the community, and not Minecraft itself.

I've played Minecraft since 2012, when I was in year 4. This game gave me so much memories, waking up at 5am before school to play Minecraft, the old hunger games, old survival servers before EULA, survival with friends, etc. Even if it did die I will still play it. Everytime I play Minecraft it reminds me of the good old days lol.

As of right now, the main things keeping Minecraft alive and thriving are the good updates, the Dream SMP, the Minecraft Championships, the development of pretty good mods (think Orgin), and Hermitcraft and some other smaller Minecraft communities. In the worst case senario, Hytale could completly send Minecraft into hybernation if it is free, but even then, Minecraft would never fully die as it would become considered as a classic like super mario bros and other famous older games.

Eventually everything has to die. When it comes to entertainment popularity is the equivalent of blood. For the heart to keep beating and not die it needs blood for the game to keep being relevant it needs popularity. Death can be pushed away but eventually it always come back no matter how much you prevent it. Its all just the inevitability of time.

I think one of the big factors that was not in this video is new Minecraft content that fits the new age of RU-vid. Like 100 days, hardcore, hipixel content, etc. I also think that Minecraft content NOT fitting the new age of RU-vid in 2016 to now is the reason it died

2016 and before, the updates were kinda trash tbh but now, with the aquatic, village and pillage, nether and cave update and the updates that r yet to come, I cant really see mc dying anytime soon. Unless they start making trash updates

I personally don't think Minecraft will die just because of the amount of content that is in the game and all of the servers etc.

While my childhood was OG minecraft I must say; Ive made as many memories in 2019+ minecraft (second golden age) as I did in 2012~2015 MC. Replaying the game with all your friends who also have huge nostalgia, exploring the new updates like the nether and village, just chilling at 3am during quarantine. It’s the same kind of fun to me as it was in 2014. Maybe not to you, but for me.

When Minecraft “died” it was still doing well clocking in 40-55 million users per month. The thing depends on mojang really. 1.10-12 were really mediocre and weren’t good but 1.13, 1.14, 1.16, were amazing. 1.17 was kinda overhyped and not as good imo (even though I’d give it an 8/10 which is still good) and the bees update fix a lot of annoying bugs and changed a lot for redstone. So if the updates are good I don’t see it dying.

I don't think it will die since: 1. Mojang programmers are very well paid and they won't stop giving updates 2. In the future, there will be more servers with different games 3. The games that already exist are very appreciated and no one has got bored of them 4. There will be a combat update which will be in both bedrock and java where you don't have to charge the attacks. 5. The game is just too good, I really like it a lot

We need to see from more proffesional point of view Minecraft is a 3D block game where you can interact with a randomly generated world and viceversa, and you can play it singleplayer or multiplayer on public or private servers. So... The possibilitys that minecraft gives makes it a game that can be refreshed from time to time, on another words, from generation to generation. This means that every 5-10 years, a new players generation can experiment with minecraft, giving it a 1-3 years massive popularity inside this cycle. Conclusion: Every 5-10 years a new generatiom starts giving minecraft a period of 1-3 years popularity

One of the reasons that you didnt mention is that youtube stopped pushing minecraft in the recommended tab. Also, 1.13 was a really large and great update. Just that 1.14 made it more popular. Also minecraft started declining in popularity in 2015 due to the lack of updates. 1.8 wasn't well received either(it wasn't as bad as the 1.9 update). One of the large parts of minecraft was the pvp community. And they werent happy. 1.7 is to this day considered the best vanilla version of minecraft for pvp. And the fall of hunger games(survival games) was one of the reasons too

It's highly likely that the game will die again. Maybe not today, maybe not n the next couple of years, but it will die again, and if I had to guess the cause, either the game no longer being updated, or the community falling from grace like it had before.

Game popularity is like the waves of the sea, always rising and falling. When you have the game that has proper class such as Minecraft, it is difficult to kill it off. Minecraft will lose popularity again, this is just a truth, and it will happen due to a new game. But the new game will fall, like Fortnite, Among Us, and Fall Guys. But after that Minecraft will return and become popular again, just because it is an amazing game. Honestly I can only see it truly dying if it receives it’s last update and a flurry of great new games comes around. Or if Notch or Mojang does something to really piss people off, and Mojang and its games get boycotted. But honestly I don’t really see that happening so Minecraft will live for quite a while longer.

It won't. The sandbox nature of the game and user-voted updates really make the game "impossible" to die. It won't probably die again, as there is now a toxic community (bad, but necessary) made of stans that will protect it from harm.

(trigger warning, also no hate to Minecraft it is my favorite game) As a 2010 Minecraft player, I hope it dies again, ever since it was revived it became a different game, everyone became toxic and everyone started lagging, people started to hack more than ever, the game started feeling more like a job to me, the game was more fun when the players weren’t as toxic as they are now, this is a unpopular opinion and I really hate to say this, but the community has become identical to the Fortnite community nowadays, Minecraft has lost its charm, I have never even thought about quitting the game until 2021 in the 11 years that I played the game, I won’t quit though, because I have hope that the game will die one day and become like it was back in the day.
