Some good ideas in here! Finding activities during school hours isn't a problem for us, but things like the local science centers, aquariums, and things of that nature are always good, regardless of location. Such as the Dinosaur Resource Center in Woodland Park (if you haven't gone there, it's pretty cool). Flexibility is key too, I agree with that. Sometimes you need to think outside the box to find an enriching activity.
