The scene of Marcus with the guy and the bike, Is supposed to be a representation of how, He basically shows all this love to try and heal his mother, but basically gets nothing back from it because of her condition. So him saving the guy on the bike, and the guy hugging him was a reward for how he tries to help his mom with no reward, but the guy hugs him and shows genuine thanks....thus, thanks.

Did you catch that Will Poluter's character was actually talking about Carmy when he was telling the story about the guy who was far better than him and he made him a better cook just by competing with him

I love how season 2 delves more into each characters lives, i personally think its better than season 1.

I wanted to rewatch episode 6 but after doing that, I somehow managed to rewatch the second season in one sitting. There are so many little things said that give more background. This show is surprisingly dense.

3:52 The note doesn't even say coco is a cat. Watering the bowl may just be a training device to hone persistence to service... to serve outside oneself, unconditionally. 4:54 Confidence in oneself is a theme rehashed several times in this show.

Notice that while Marcus is having a good time in Denmark, he is quite lonely. Luca points out that to be a good chef, Marcus has to have a life outside of the kitchen (*cough Carmen cough*). Rescuing the cyclist is getting some reciprocal affection for caring about someone, as Marcus can’t get a hug from his mother. Although we all know, she would give him a hug if she could. It was nice to see Marcus get a hug as he is obviously lonely.

I noticed something upon seeing all of season 2. S P O I L E R There is Marcus’ hug with the cyclist, Natalie’s hug with Stevie in episode 6, and Sydney’s hug with her father in episode 9. All these hugs get signifiant camera time. I think the show is trying to say something, but I don’t know what.

9:08 Lucas is the name of Marcus' mentor. He was one of the rising talents Carmy mentioned in his S1 monologue who he set out to destroy in order to be the best chef.

But I would get quite angry If I read spoilers in the comments, because there are 6 more episodes left and I don't know where these people are getting these "fun facts" from only watching 4 episodes 👀.
