The Prince and Princess of Wales hailed Team GB’s athletes as an ‘inspiration to us all’ ahead of the closing ceremony.
The video posted on social media included celebrities like American rapper Snoop Dogg, David Beckham and Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill.
Team Great Britain finished Paris 2024 with 65 medals, beating their total from Tokyo by one.

Princess Catherine of Wales, I can't tell you enough... How much you have brightened my days. No matter how hard or painful. I knew i could wake up and look for you on media. It just made my load a little bit easier... when you were not there, it was extremely difficult. i really did not know how much you impacted my daily life until you were gone. I hope you will have a more peaceful rest and healing now. Thankyou for sharing all of your story. It was a tremendous weight lifted off... Not knowing why? Was very scary. So thank you😊

Why is it Team GB and not Team UK?

The British Olympic team is known as "Team GB" because it represents Great Britain and Northern Ireland, which make up the UK. However, Team GB also includes athletes from the Crown Dependencies, which are not part of the UK. The name "Team GB" is a branding exercise and not based on geography. It's called Google you should try it out sometime.
