Hank saving the world from aliens must be the follow up to that time he met Silver Surfer in another commercial and sold him propane to power his board.
Still don't know who at Fox came up with that whole idea (maybe it was because Beavis and Butthead was popular with the youth demographic, ergo this would make them interested in KOTH?)
@@TimothyMischka Maybe some Fox exec figured KOTH had episodes that were tame enough that it'd work with Fox Kids promos? Scholastic also made a book around the same time based on an episode, and it appeared to be intended for middle school level classroom plays. Even though it was an adult cartoon, I know I still grew up watching the show, and there's episodes that are definitely fine for families to watch together, though kids won't understand all the humor.
There was an planned Live Action TV Spinoff movie based on Via Con Dios about an Priest avenging the death of his Choir Boy and a Stock Broker travelling with him but it was cancelled due to the image of an ethnic Priest killing Gang Members not sounding good.
I love how the Will Rogers Institute knew it was lost so they digged through their archives for the fans looking for it. Such nice people who actually listen to supporters.
I think I figured out the whole plot: The guys meets a genie that would grant them Three wishes. Bobby wished to be a little bigger, Dale wanted to be unseen by the government. Before anyone could make a third wish Aliens come and invade Arlen, and Hank and Peggy were able to stop them, and later wished everything back, but with a few sleight changes.
I don't know who it was who posted the comment but I saw someone speculate that all the wishes were Hank's: Hank wishing for Bobby to be bigger (or rather, grow up) Hank (when annoyed) wishing for Dale to disappear And what we saw in the end -- return to normal minus their usual beer.
See I always assumed one of the wishes was Hank wishing that the entire universe knew how clean and efficient propane was as a fuel source, this alerting the aliens of its existence and causing them to invade in order to harvest all the propane for themselves. Maybe another wish was Hank wishing Bobby to be the biggest thing in football (making him bigger than the stadium) and that Dale being invisible was unrelated to the wishes and was caused by the aliens, because of course Dale would think he could chat with the aliens and think they would already know who he was.
Lol as soon as Hank said "Dale's still invisible", I was like "wait is he naked?" because you could still see his hat, sunglasses, and cigarette but no clothes.
Assuming Shabu operates on a standard "three wishes" model and hasn't changed masters throughout the movie, that means three supernatural things (aliens, invisible Dale, giant Bobby) were the results of just two wishes. One of these must be an indirect result of a wish. I theorize that the non-wished thing is the alien invasion. I think Dale caused it accidentally after sneaking into a government facility, possibly Area 51. Because, let's be real here, there's no way Dale wouldn't sneak into a government facility if he was given the power of invisibility.
I'm guessing the aliens, Bobby being giant, and Dale being invisible were all consequences of the first wish. The second wish was trying to set things right but failing, culminating in them being in Washington D.C. Thus the third wish was needed to reset everything.
When I made that post on lost media wiki back in 2017 I was convinced that it really was lost forever, but I'm glad I had a small hand in getting this posted in full on RU-vid. Thank you for posting the full thing, it really does bring me back to being a kid when I saw this in theaters all those years ago. Now if I could just find that other film I'm looking for.
If they could find Hank Hill meeting Silver Surfer for Fox Kids promos from 1998 (probably found on some random VHS tape that someone picked up a thrift store or found in a garage), anything is possible.
@@Cj-hj6rm It wasn't from an episode; it was played in front of movies. I think Chicken Run specifically. That's why they talk about buying the Will Rogers combo packs at the concession stand and that's why they have a movie and are in a movie theatre. This full clip has been lost media for a very long time actually.

The King of the Hill Movie plot (SPOILERS!): The movie starts with a tracking shot of a mosquito flying over our familiar Arlen neighborhood where we move in on Hank walking to the Alley getting ready to meet the guys. Boomhauer is the first to arrive with the two exchanging a literal word. Bill (played by Ned Beaty where the two guys make a comment on Bill's new look). Finally, Dale comes rushing to the guys having learned the Arlen government has excavated an ancient artifact holding untold power. Hank and the guys, naturally, chalk this up as another one of Dale's rants. Dale then breaks in and takes the artifact for himself; releasing Shabu. Shabu tells Dale that he has three wishes he can make. With guards closing in, Dale wishes to be hidden; leading Shabu to turn Dale invisible. The next day, Dale shows the guys his invisible state to their disbelief. When Hank learns of Shabu's wishing powers, he thinks back to how Bobby could stand to be more athletic; so he wishes Bobby to grow bigger and stronger. Of course, Shabu takes this wish literally and Bobby slowly becomes giant. An argument ensues between Hank and Dale; leading Dale to wish for proof of alien life. The wish ends up bringing aliens right to Arlen where they begin an invasion of the USA and the world. TLDR; Hank is able to blow up the alien ship using his knowledge of Propane safety and escapes; leading us to the ending we see here.
I haven't heard any new dialog from KOTH in over a decade, and it makes me so happy to hear this. I've never heard of this aside from someone noticed "New" KOTH footage from one of the creator's instagram accounts and didn't reveal it was a PSA. Just an old recording and used the new animation budget from Season 6. Seeing the whole thing makes me very happy to hear Dale, Bill, Peggie and Bobby again that I haven't heard of.
This clip without the ending was a big internet KOTH Mystery. No one knew what it truly was except those that lived in a place that had these will rogers theater boxes. Thanks for posting.
I remember seeing this in the theater and thinking even then, I’d actually go see this. I also bought my summer pack at the time and still do donate to the institute.
A King of the Hill reboot when Bobby goes to high school to meet with his old friends Joseph and Connie. Season 14 will take place in high school when Bobby becomes a Senior and goes to the prom.
I think "The Amazing Colossal Man" with Bobby, although has anyone else noticed that Mike Judge seems fixated with giants to use them in his cartoons for the characters fantasy sequences/dreams, however maybe I'm just overthinking the coincidences,
I remember seeing this in a theater when I was like 5 years old, probably for Chicken Run since that came out around the right time (Summer 2000). The only part that stuck in my memory was "Darn you Shaboo!" XD
yea, I can't help but think that Mike Judge wouldn't reuse the exact plot of the Bevis &Butthead movie, but I could see a plot device about the main characters taking a road trip to Washington DC just for a story idea,
As bad as they said the movie would be...This whole thing would look more like the intro to what could be a funny movie, as a conversation piece to set the stage and mood for what you're about to watch
DARN YOU SABOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! This Lost King Of The Hill Policy Trailer Was Partially Found First. I Was Found On i think bootleg VHS tape. Then Full Video Was Found In HD In March 8, 2019.
Everybody sleeping on the fact that Dale could tell something was wrong with the beer without looking at it, merely by having it pressed against his crotch.
Mike Judge make a King of the Hill movie and Bobby goes to high school but he is a Freshman just like Joseph and Connie. It will take 3 years after season 13 of King of the Hill.
A real king of the hill movie would be set in the future, where hank is having trouble accepting the changes in his home town of Arlen, which would include his own son getting married.
Shaboo for my last wish I want everything back to normal. It is done. Wait a minute this isn't back to normal! This is light beer! Darn you Shaboo!!!! 😂
I hope I'm not overreacting by guessing that, everything within the movie they just saw, were all metaphors for a story premise/ideas they actaually thought about, for if they ever did have plans for a King of the Hill movie, essentially the 50 foot Bobby could mean Hank was worried about Bobby starting high school; the aliens/invisible Dale, might mean that Hank has a massive arguement with Dale(only for it to turnout Dale was right about something, so that Hank owes Dale an apology) & then of course when Hank wishes everything back to normal with the genie; could be symbolic of Hank turning down Buck Strickland's offer to finally be promoted to general manager of Stricland Propane(but as Hank is driving off, the office winds up being raided by either the IRS or FBI) also finally with the light-beer& Ned Beatty cast as Bill, feels like a basic metaphor for a change in the status quo that can happen with any movie (weather they all try a different brand of beer, or basically it could either mean Bill got engaged or had a wedding during the movie,)
