The Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. The Warriors attack was spearheaded by Andrew Wiggins, who scored 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. If you think Steph shouldn't win MVP you don't know basketball. Pipen was as dominant as Wiggins and not once did anyone considered Pipen to be the MVP over Jordan. Before you say anything go watch some of those Finals, Jordan was not always stellar, he had some subpar games.

So apparently Curry averaging 31 6 and 5 on nearly 50% from the field and 42% from three is not carrying a team like a top 10 player should? Just because he had a game that wasn’t as lucrative and it allowed everybody else to do great. Man that’s really bad news for guys like Kobe and Bird and many others. Curry is held to a higher standard than any other superstar I’ve ever seen. Yes LeBron James is held to almost an impossibly high standard but he gets all the credit no matter how great his teammate is or teammates. Marcellus, Curry just missed open threes. It’s that simple. If he went 3-9 instead of 0-9, we’re not having this conversation. 8 out of 9 of those three point attempts were good looks for him and not even properly contested. He still went 7-13 from two , had 8 assists and played good defense. He definitely has to make more threes in game 6 though and make up for game 5. But don’t act like Wiggins (26 points) and Klay (21 points) are role players. They are two way stars.

Even though Steph wasn't raining 3's like he did in game 4, he still scored 16 points with 8 assists. He played like a true point guard. Crisp passes for easy layups. He still commanded double and triple teams most of the time. Take Steph off the court completely and the Warriors would have lost. Even when Steph isn't hitting from deep, his gravity still pulls multiple defenders to him, which opens up opportunities for everyone else. Even in an "off night", I'd argue he was still the best overall player on the court in game 5.

Ok. I needed to stop and comment. That was one of the dumbest takes I've heard from Wiley. Steph didn't defer. He just shot poorly. He didn't have an awful game, but his shot wasn't falling, and not from lack of effort. So, there's no deferring going on here. He had a poor shooting night (although he was good in other aspects of the game). That's it. He's clearly the best player in this series, on either side, by miles. His one bad game isn't going to cost him anything, and the fact this is even a discussion is a joke.

"Stopping" Steph is like no other player in history. Because of His shooting ability, you will NEED to commit multiple players to him (similar to other all time greats) as he CROSSES HALF COURT (NOT like other all time greats). That key distinction is what changes everything and makes truly Stopping Steph virtually impossible so long as his team can win 5v4.

The thing no one talks about with Steph is he gets doubled and triple teamed more then anyone in the history of the game( Shaq #2). Even in the regular season. I've watched MJ, Lebron, Kobe, KD etc and I've never seen defenses make it a point to get the ball out of there hands as soon as they pass half court. 90% of his shots are always contested. That's what makes him the best shooter and one of the greatest players EVER for me. KD and Kyrie got a dose of what Curry goes through every game against Boston and you see what happened. Now imagine having to deal with that 82 games regular season and the playoffs. That's INSANE TALENT!!!

I agree with Acho, I was an All-American DE in college and the same thing happened to me, every other game I had mad #'s because of the film that was watched, and focused by the opposing team is always the most recent game film. They would go, wow, that guy is okay, but not a problem because they did not see all the extra TE help and FB chips and double teams. Then the next game they would let me go free with a 1 on 1 match up and wonder why they where getting tortured. Lol.... next game coaches wld say, we need to get our T some help for that guy.

This is BS with all due respect, i will give it to steph with no hesitation only for his 43 points game 4 That game was the turning point for them in this series, if they lost game 4 it would've been 3-1 and thats a wrap. Steph curry gave them life with that performance.

Steph is 6'2 or 6'3 and is pretty athletic, but he's physically incapable of doing what Lebron, Giannis, or Durant are able to do. That's what makes it even more impressive.. to me!
