Brandon Beane, Sean McDermott, Josh Allen, and Terrel Bernard all spoke to the media on Thursday. We give our biggest takeaways from each and discuss if they will trade up or down in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Josh and Dion are the leaders on offense. Subtracting Diggs finally allows Josh's voice to be singularly followed. The Bills offense is incredibly young relative to the Bills defense. No doubt - 2024 is the year this team is officially Josh's.
Cooper Dejean isn’t just “some guy” though… he’s a Micah Hyde clone. If he’s at 28, I’m damn near willing to bet the house, he’s the pick. He’d be the perfect Siran Neal replacement instantly. Special Teams & back up nickel. As you find where he fits CB/S, he slowly starts to take over a starting position. By next season, he’ll be a borderline pro-bowler every season.
If you had said that to me a couple of months ago you'd have been greeted with a GTHOH. I'm with ya' now. The more I've seen and read, he is the perfect fit for a McDermott/Babish defense. The only problem is I don't think he'll be there at 28. But, will Beane trade up for him? We'll find out soon enough.
I've had Brian Thomas Jr set in my mind for way too long - not expecting anything but I'd love that. Overall I’d be disappointed if we didn’t get a receiver like BTJ, McConkey, or Legette.
I agree those are the Realistic Names that i would prefer as well, assuming that we don’t have a shot at the Top 3 wr prospects. I Would absolutely Love it if we somehow Miraculously moved up and Drafted Odunze, but i don’t think thatll happen, and i don’t want to mortgage too much to go get him
@@Dcrow3 I would rather keep our 1st next, AND both 2nd round picks, AND our 3rd. Those picks could yield 4 really good players. Will it help us in 2024? No. Will it help us in 2025 to 2030? YES !
No guarantee any draft pick = a better player than free agency. People forget that. It’s all a crapshoot. Just get a super talented guy you need to help the offense.
@@Ray-dl5mp You do know what you have Curtis Samuel. You would pretty much know what you would be getting in Courtland Sutton. The Bills had no idea what they were getting with drafting Kaiir Elam. So, yes, the draft is a crapshoot. That is why you want MORE picks. Maybe you miss in the 1st , but hit on a guy in the 4th.
I would love to see them to traded down and get that 3rd, But's a huge gamble if you don't get your guy, and I think that guy is Ladd McConkey. He just fits the Bills molded.
There can only be one voice on offence...1 leader on each side is what you need(not a million people chiming in when they past their prime)...I'm good with all the moves we've made
@-29:34, idk why but Sal killed me with this new C talk 😂😂 I legitimately chuckled listening on my way to work 🤣 It just seemed like such an un-Sal thing to say…”it’s not as easy as putting your hands under his butt…his butt’s a different size!” 😜🤣💀
I called TE last year and predicted the position every season under McBeane. I called TE because we wanted more weapons for Josh but not an immediate need at WR and a better value for the position with Kincaid. This year it's best available between DL and WR. If their WR ain't there than they will take DL or trade down. I'd like to trade down and then trade back up the board and grab both and then another WR with the extra pick in the 3rd. The WR class is deep enough where you can still get some guys. If you miss out on the top DL then you're shit outta luck for a top guy at #60 or on day 3
Good call on Kincaid. Casual fans get caught up in draft hype, and forget that our rookie will have to compete and beat someone out at training camp if they even want to see the field! For that reason, I don't think DT will be priority this year. DaQuan and Ed Oliver are locked in through 2025 and I just don't see any of these prospects beating them out. A high end rookie WR on the other hand might very easily start and contribute in 2024.
Please just don't say Chopp.. he seems like a royal bust to me, and Bills need a guy that is more like Myles Garrett rather than just another depth guy, I'm so tired of weak edge rushers.
@steveg1830 more likely this year with everyone going receiver and OL tbh.. but I'd rather take no one than Chopp.. not a fan of Penn State edge rushers, and that's mainly my point. And even still, if they had to move up to get a Garrett type, I rather that than just another depth player..
@brandonday6153 Chess piece in the secondary. Defensive playmaker. Potential replacement for Douglas next season. Bills face a lot of very good QBs in the AFC. Bills Defense has a need for more playmakers & pass rush. Both 2025 2nds (& 2024 2nd) should be in play for a trade up for DeJean & another 1st in the bottom of the 1st (WR). Bills have Kincaid, Shakir & Samuel as the top 3 receiving options (Hollins is a good #5 option) & the rookie can be the #4 option.
@brandonday6153 Travis Kelce has been beating us down the middle for big gains or TDs. You need to eventually have to address that issue. The regular season we won because a WR was offsides. In the playoff loss Kelce made big plays down the middle of the field.
@@jasoncrandall73 no duh we had a 3rd string linebacker playing in the game that was pretty much retired! Are offense lost a lot of production u half to get Josh a guy !
@brandonday6153 Diggs faded as the last 11 games ticked away. He also started to have drops that cost us games. If the Bills don't start to address Kelce he will be the guy who will always beat us. DeJean would be a awesome "chess pjece" in the Bills secondary. Imagine going 3 safeties in games against the Chiefs. Especially one that has very good ball skills. The Bills will add WRs but because they have- #1- Kincaid #2- Shakir #3- Samuel The Bills can draft specific skill sets for WR(s) in a deep WR draft class.
I don’t see Beane trading up, he seems to never pick a star besides Allen and 1 star draft pick in all these yrs is not good, Beane is not a good draft guy
