Will The Final Shape Expansion Fail?

So I wanted to make a video to sort of inform myself of what is coming in final shape but also be a bit different than the normal, “here is everything coming in final shape”. I noticed during my recording that I seem to be slightly overly negative about the new super variants coming in final shape, but they do look pretty cool and interesting and I’m glad we are getting them, so look past my monotone voice for that part. What are your thoughts on the final shape, do you think it’ll be everything the community hopes for, or a disappointment just as lightfall was?

I like the video. I think despite the flaws of light fall, strand has been the greatest thing bungie has ever created. I hope during the final shape year they can focus on more things that mean a lot of players such as new supers and abilities for stasis and stuff, and making more strikes and crucible maps and modes, perhaps a gambit overhaul as well

My expectations are very low, LightFail did and still kills my excitement for the franchise and faith that Bungie can deliver. I have my hopes, but I'm prepared to skip FS if it can't live up to itself. Its make or break for Destiny, and Bungie has always been the true Destiny Killer after all

I have hope it will be good. Bungie knows they NEED to do great with this expansion since they would like to end this Saga on a good note not to mention next year will be the fabled 10 YEARS we first heard about Destiny come to fruition

Witch Queen was very similar to Lightfall, even in the destinations. Both had 3 main areas with a few secrets, a cutoff area for the “good guy” with collectibles. I was very disappointed with Lightfall and didn’t feel like strand was as impactful as stasis, either

Ligthfall helped me get out of Destiny 2, this season will mark the second consecutive season I don't complete the story or battlepass since the Worthy/Dawn disaster. I think TFS will have the same amount of love and attention that Lightfall did. They have to prove they can release a financially successful DLC for a live service game after one bad year to Sony, since the entire reason Sony purchased them was so they could assist with all of their Live Service games. The love for the game and world is basically gone, they are just focused on the financial aspect of it because not only is their existence in partnership with Sony on the line, but the success of Marathon is too.

TFS has to be better than WQ if they want my patronage in the future. I'm done supporting a company that doesn't want to deliver beyond our expectations, and in TFS, I'll get to see where their priorities lie.

This might be incredible cope, but I don’t think that this one will fall flat, or at least not in the same way(s) as Lightfall. The reason for this is that Lightfall’s two biggest failings, in my opinion, was how badly implemented the story was, and how easy the raid was. However, Bungie has already said that 1. Final Shape’s Raid will use crota reprise as a benchmark, which is good, and 2. Every part of Lightfall’s story that actually had the Witness on-screen and as the focus was pretty good, and that should be the majority of the story here.
